Amatista Apartments Reviews
" Just come back from a fantastic week... "
Submitted By: Mrs A Whitlam
Just come back from a fantastic week at the Amatista apartments, we had a two bedroomed apartment with sea view and I have to say this was prob one of the best 2 bed apartments we have stayed in. The location was absolutly superb, 30 m from the beach, walk down to the beach and turn right and you have a massive selection of restaurants and a 5-10 min walk along the promanade took you into Calpe town, which had a large supermarket (Solymar) and a vast aray of traditional spanish bars, irish pubs, and restaurants. The mini train stopped 5 mins away from the apartment in front of the beach and that took you to the harbour and around Calpe, you could actually walk to the harbour from the apart (turn left and walk along the promanade), the walk took 10 mins, at the harbour lots of boats left for various differnt locations. We had a hire car for the week but to be honest you didnt really need it as everything was at hand. We couldnt beleive how cheap everything was, a three course meal would cost 8Euro 60....and that included a bottle of wine, we visited Majorca in June 08 and in comparison the food at Calpe was less than half price. We drove to benidorm for a day and left after 15 mins, was just like Blackpool with sun. Calpe is typically for an upmarket family holiday without the larger louts, there were a lot of middle aged couples there and familys with small children. We travelled with two kids, 3 and 9 months old. The only thing I would say against the apartments is that they charged us 40euros for 6 nights cot hire...we could have purchased a travel cot at the local supermarket for 29euros! Also, the apartment only had spanish TV....and didnt have a kettle but we just used the microwave to boil water in cups for coffee and the pool area wasn't great, it was very clean but just looked not very welcoming which didnt bother us as the beach was within a stones throw. It had an ensuite bathroom, washing machine and the biggest balcony we have ever seen, the balcony had two sunloungers on it and a table and chair set that seated 6 people, the views out to sea were stunning, the balcony was also very safe for children. We were on the 15th floor apartment 115A. The apartments are mailnly used by spanish people who are on holiday and some are privatley owned by spanish people. The spanish absolutly love children so we had no complaints at all. Its been the most relaxing holiday ive had for some time, and with 2 kids in tow thats saying something. We will def be back to calpe and will def stay here again!
