Excellent. We have just returned from a two week stay at thr Amphitriti Hotel in Pefkos and I can tell you it was the most welcoming place we have ever stayed in. We have a two year old daughter who was absolutely adored by the Greek owners and staff from the hotel. The... more

My Family and I stayed at Amphitriti for the first two weeks of August 2009. The apartments are what you'd expect for Greece, basic but clean and comfortable, there are fridges, kettles, and adequate furniture provided, air con comes at a reasonable extra cost. The pool... more

Worst place we've ever stayed in - stiff and smelly bedding and towels. Despite being well used to basic accommodation in Greek Islands can only describe this as greasy - greasy shower, greasy floor, greasy pool, greasy utensils/ crockery. Just made you feel eeewww. Also... more

My wife and I went stayed in the Amphitriti for 7 nights, very clean, good sized pool and not too cold like some pools can be. 5 mins walk to main street where all the bars and tavernas are. Rooms are basic, but clean with a balcony, A/C is extra but not needed in October.... more

My husband and I stayed in a self catering studio here. We found the apartment to be clean but basic. The cleaner was in every day except Sunday. The studios and two bedroom apts. are on the ground floor and although there were people passing to go to the pool, as we sat on... more

Just back from the Amphitriti hotel for the 2nd year in a row and the hotel and staff still excellent as before. They even recognised us from last year which was nice and the bars and restaurants we frequented the year before all welcomed you back. The hotel is spotless... more

The hotel was lovely and very clean. The rooms were well provided for in terms of towels and a maid service. The only negative about this hotel is that the our studio was a bit basic and quite small therefore there was no way we could have prepared a proper meal. Having... more

Looking forward to reterning to Amphitriti Hotel in 2 weeks time. Stayed there in June 04 and June 05. Decided to try somewhere different last year but didn’t enjoy it as much as Amphitriti. Can’t wait to go back and see Kate, Eric and family, who make you feel so... more

Great hotel in great location. The place is spotless. The people are so friendly and not just the locals but the tourists are too and most seem to return year after year, which says something in itself. Never has one bad meal the whole fortnight in the resort. Recommend... more

The hotel we stayed at is in the South of Rhodes Island. It has the most spectacular beaches and scenery. The hotel is run by a small family that make you feel very welcomed and at ease. The Thomson rep was brilliant - she gave us information on places to eat and were to go... more

lovely hotel
My mother and I stayed at this lovely hotel last week. It is close to the beach approx 200m (beds €4) and the resort centre is approx 800m. There is a payphone at the end of the road. A supermarket in the hotel and along the road. The air-conditioning was a must €8per day and safe deposit (in room) or choose a fan for €2 per day. We stayed BB the room had a large fridge, wardrobe, balcony, dressing table but no kettle and a small shower!! The maid cleans daily (except sunday) and the rom was spotless. A torch is needed for part of the road from the main street during dark hours. The breakfast consists of three choices of cereal, two choices of fruit, bread/toast, butter/jam, boiled egg, ham and cheese along with tea, coffee and juice. The only problem experienced was when arriving the transfer coach drops you off at the top of the street because the main coach cannot travel to the hotel and a small bus takes you. When coming home you must make you own way to the top of the road (your luggage is taken by van) to catch the coach.
Near The Fine Beach
We stayed at the Hotel Amphitriti in June/July 2006, choosing the bread and breakfast option rather than self catering. The breakfast provided was limited and unvaried throughout the fortnight and served in a rather unwelcoming room. The price of breakfast listed on the accommodation licence on the back of our room door was given as €3 and we thought that a bit steep for what we got. Better to go for the self catering option. The Hotel is on a large site, a fair number of the rooms are on the ground floor and have a terrace with little privacy. Even our balcony in Room 101 was adjacent to a large empty unused patio which served as a main thoroughfare resulting in us thinking twice sometimes about sitting out. Ask for a Room on Floor 2 to guarantee a private balcony (but watch out for Rooms beginning with 3, these obtusely are on the ground floor and have a terrace). We liked the position of the Amphitriti, separated from the sea by about a hundred metres of unspoiled rugged scenery, with the popular beach only a few minutes walk away. It is a fine beach, sandy without pebbles and with a shallow slope into the clean Blue Flag water. Bathing was a real pleasure: often the sea was flat and calm but sometimes in the afternoon when a breeze arose the modest waves appeared. In the opposite direction we found the main village centre with a wide variety of bars, tavernas, restaurants and shops. We enjoyed studying the different menu boards before choosing the venue for our evening meal. We liked the Coliseum best, but the Enigma has a roof terrace with spectacular views and the food is good here too. There is good opportunity for walking around and about Pefkos. Famous Lindos is a €6 taxi ride away and Rhodes Town easily accessible by bus or car. A "Glass Bottom" boat sails from nearby to Lindos. We also bought a bus tour of the island which took us to Butterfly Valley, the archaeological ruins at Kamiros and the mountain village of Siana famous for production of honey, olive oil and 50% "firewater " Souma. All these experiences together with the splendid views of the coastline, sometimes rocky, sometimes with beach of sand or pebbles but always with breathtaking multi-shaded blue seas, produced a memorable day out from our hotel base. When we got back to our hotel we reflected over a few drinks. Staying here was a positive experience. The family which manages the Amphitriti keep it clean and well maintained throughout. The pool is an asset and the pool bar alongside is efficient in serving drinks, ice cream, snacks and more substantial meals. Our room was of decent size, had a large fridge but small shower and we had to pay €8 per night for the (necessary) air conditioning. This East Coast of Rhodes is far hotter than the notoriously windy west side. The Amphitriti was our base from which we enjoyed the delights of this good weather and the welcoming beach. Further afield the sights and history of this beautiful island are waiting to be explored.
