Gelina Village Complex Hotel

We were unfortunate enough to be put in this resort after having been supposedly overbooked at Mitsis Roda Beach. We were not alone others 20-30 at least were also supposedly overbooked and placed here. The common factor seems to be hotels 4 u.com which various travel agents use and you are not aware until find yourself in this position. The resort is a German resort. The only English seemed to be those overbooked from other hotels. We were all accommodated in the Gellina Mare an annex to the main resort. The accommodation is that of a self catering apartment. I have stayed in better 2 star in greece.Very basic and tatty. All of the people put in this section were furious and requested better rooms and to be transferred to another hotel. The only travel agent that moved all their guests straight away was Travel Republic. We were unfortunate enough to have to stay at this resort our full 7 days. Transport is required to the main part of the hotel provided by the hotel after you rang reception. Otherwise it was a 15-20 min walk though a wilderness- not pleasant. The reception staff were appalling totally unhelpful which made matters worse. None of the information files about the resort etc were in English -only German. The food was reasonable but not 5 star and all buffet style so always cold. If you had been in the main resort where all the germans were accomodated i would rate it 4 star .All the staff working at the annex appear not to wish to be there and their attitude shone through. DO NOT STAY HERE Nightmare
