I took my parents to Koh Samui last summer for a 2 week stay. We were supposed to stay in two hotels. The first one was great but the second one basically turned out to be a construction site. After having walked up and down the beach looking for a new hotel I decided to... more

Amazing boutique resort, loved it!
My boyfriend and I (aged 30) stayed at Le Paradis for 3 nights in March 08 and highly recommend this boutique resort! On arrival, the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We were shown to our garden villa (30) which was un-detached, hidden behind trees and so peaceful. The room was just lovely and beautifully furnished. It had nice touches like a basket of fruit, mosquito spray etc; it was cleaned once a day as well as an evening turn down service where they would leave sweets and light the orange scented oil burner and mosquito coil outside. The bed was amazing, so comfortable with crisp good quality sheets! There are lovely surrounding gardens, a library where you can borrow dvd’s and magazines and free use of internet. The infinity pool looks good but it’s only about 15 m in length so not big enough to do laps or swim properly. Nice for a dip and paddle. If you are looking to swim, then Le Paradis is located on the best part of Chaweng beach for swimming in the sea and soft sand. Although there are many hotels / resorts on Chaweng Beach, Le Paradis doesn't have neighbours for at least 100 metres on each side so it appears to be quieter on the beach. There were always plenty of sunbeds around the pool and on the beach and a really helpful pool man who will move your bed / lay your towel out/ get you drinks etc leaving you to relax and chill. There is an afternoon tea / drinks / snacks by the pool, free of charge which is a nice extra. We tried the spa which was great. There is also a gym overlooking the sea. It is quite a quiet resort, with most guests appearing to keep themselves to themselves, reading and chilling. ‘Karebu’ the resort’s restaurant is very nice with a good range of western and thai options on the menu. Breakfasts were very great - a little different to most places in the sense that you tick off from a list what you would like – you can order as much as you want. The staff were so nice and friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. We really did love our stay, felt it was good value for money and would definitely go back!!
Love, Love, Love
Our first trip to Thailand and we loved it - mostly because of Le Paradis! It is truly a 'boutique' hotel - small but private, personal but professional service, stunning, peaceful grounds and lovely rooms. We stayed in a Contemporary Villa with our 2 children (4 year old on day bed &10 month old in hotel crib) and we were comfortable. Pool / beach / restuarant proximity to each other is ideal. Breakfast was great (no buffet!!) and pool-side service quite good - especially Bang! During our stay, we were the only guests with small children and the staff was wonderful with them. Not everything was perfect; we had a few minor housekeeping issues but they were minor. Every day we would walk the beach and eat lunch and/or dinner out. And every day, I was so thankful - almost relieved! - to return to Le Paradis. It just felt good to be 'home' in our little oasis!
A fabulous stay
This was our third visit to Ko Samui, the first being in the 70's by ferry from Surathani, and most recently in 1992. We knew Ko Samui would have changed dramatically and searched in detail to find the type of property that would give us privacy, great cuisine and attention to detail [we are a little picky !] The end result was that we spent a wonderful week at Le Paradis which exceeded our expectations. One morning at breakfast we asked if there were any Mangosteen and were told that they were not yet in season. The next morning we were presented with a bowl of mangosteen that had been bought from the market by a staff member [Jane] at her own expense. It does not get any better than that! A wonderful place to stay
We loved Le Paradis - we stayed in a contemporary villa which was lovely with a gigantic bed, hardwood floors and a fab bathroom which was part inside/part outside. We took our 1 year old and the staff were amazing - they entertained in while we were eating and really made our stay relaxing as they made us feel that we were all welcome. The villas are set in beautiful gardens, the pool is great and its just on the beach so you can enjoy great people spotting and watch all the action if you prefer to lying by the pool. Anyway I won't repeat what everyone else has said but its a great place with really good service but its laid back and informal. And the people who work there are wonderful.
THE hidden gem!
Booked 5 nights at Le Paradis, stayed 14! What more can you want....a perfect little resort, totally relaxed, no pretention, excellent restaurant, helpfull staff, great poolside service (and pool!), stunning gardens and right on the beach. The little things at Le Paradis make it 'box above its weight'. Complimentary afternoon tea and evening sweets, mozzie coils and citronella candles (though mossies not too bad), excellent spa, and beach-side gym to name a few. Moreover you really feel at home at Le Paradis with geniune staff and management doing just the right amount to make you feel comfortable. Spent a lot of time looking, but didn't see another resort on Chaweng that we would rather have been at. Genuine alternative to the Samui norm!
A total paradise
Between Christmas and New Year we have stayed in a contemporary villa in Le Paradis and this was a real "Paradise". The room was large, beautiful interior and a magnifique bathroom in the open air. All villa's are situated in a quiet beautiful garden. Service is perfect and the people are very friendly and polite. The atmosphere is very informal and nice even it is very luxury and you do have a lot of privacy. The restaurant is beautiful with a view on the beach and delicious food (as well as Thai food as international). A real recommandation for your next stay in Thailand!
Perfect retreat!
I am delighted that we stumbled across this little jem when walking along Chaweng Strip one night. We were then staying at Chaweng Noi, but found it a bit too far from restaurants/shops as we had our 1 1/2 yo with us in a stroller so we were browsing to find a more centrally located alternative. The grounds: Wonderful tropical garden, well kept and maintained. Beautiful large pond with water lillies. Mid-sized beachfront pool where you can relax while gazing out over the ocean. The rooms: 2 different types - traditional thai villa on stilts and contemporary bungalow. We stayed in the latter as the thai villas are too small for extra bed/cot and not really suited for small children. Our bungalow was excellent - one large beautiful room with huge and comfortable double bed, sofa and table, dvd player, large tv, cupboards. Contemporary in style with dark wooden floors. The bathroom was semi-outdoors with rainforest shower and bathtub. Loved it! The restaurant: The lovely beachfront restaurant Karebu served lovely food - breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. For breakfast there is no buffet, but you get a sheet where you might x out what you would like from fruit to toast, ham and eggs. (and yes - you'd might x out as much as you want..) The staff: Eventhough Thailand is known as the land of smiles, the staff here all did the little extras in terms of service and gentleness. Extremely child friendly!! Highly recommendable!
A Hidden Gem
We had booked another hotel and did not like,it we found this one, down a small road, once we entered the grounds ,it was like being in a different world,it was so relaxing, the garden is so nice it realy is special. The villa we stopped in was Thai style, they have modern as well, ours was from the outside a very old thai villa, but once inside, the inside was modern, but still with the feel of an old thai house. The resort is very laid back, the gardens are huge, you have the feeling of being in the jungle. We loved the pool,,as it is close to the sea,so the children could play in the sea safety. The food in the whole resort,is very good and not expensive, the display is very good. They have a pond area where you can relax in the evening and enjoy light music. The resort is really for people that want to relax and have something different. It is not suited for party people, but saying that the centre is 3 mins walk away. This resort is very special,if there was anything i did not like about it was the repair working going on,but this turned out to be the new gym and they only work fom about 10am to 3 pm
Lovely, traditional resort
We stayed as part of a group booking and had a wonderful time. We were lucky and got a traditional villa overlooking the sea and it was an individual unit, so no neighbours. I think some of those further back from the beach, around a beautiful pool, were attached to other villas had rather a few frogs croaking through the night! The room was quite small but beautiful and had the most comfortable bed! I liked the touch of moskito spray in each room and there was a lovely fruit basket upon arrival. The bathroom had a shower and some nice smellies. I think the contemporary rooms had a bath. Our villa had a balcony and an underneath seating area. The service, especially around the pool was amazing. We were asked if we wanted to sunbathe on the beach or by the pool and were then set up with sunshade, iced towels, water, cushions... and then the next morning he had already set us up when we came down! The food was lovely and reasonable. We had a simply beautiful time even though we went in low season and had a few downpours to contend with!
Modern design with great service
I took my parents to Koh Samui last summer for a 2 week stay. We were supposed to stay in two hotels. The first one was great but the second one basically turned out to be a construction site. After having walked up and down the beach looking for a new hotel I decided to switch to Le Paradis. The place had recently been renovated having a very sleek and modern design. The place is made up by comfortable bungalows some of them with really cool semi-outdoor restrooms. The hotel also has a very good restaurant and a large pool situated by the beach, so you can have a drink in the water and watch the busy beach activities. The service is very good. Apart from the normal high service level in Thailand the staff really provided that little extra. I would also say that the price level is good. My parents had their 37y wedding anniversary and even though we didn’t make a big deal about it the general manager provided us with free champagne to celebrate the moment. I can highly recommend this hotel!
