We stayed at the Courtleigh from 12 - 24 March (there for the Cricket World Cup!).
The Courtleigh is in the heart of the financial district just across the road from Emancipation Park (more of that later).
We had a room on the 8th floor (you need a key to get up in the lift so very secure) and with a view to the beautiful Blue Mountains and over Kingston.
Large and comfortable bed, TV with satellite, fridge, iron and ironing board and a rather good hairdryer. English hairdryers do not work very well in Jamaica as I found to my cost!
Internet access in the rooms and from the Business Centre near the lobby $2 American for 15 minutes.
Alexander’s Restaurant has a varied menu and the food is excellent proved by guests from the Hilton and Pegasus hotels that flank the Courtleigh come there to eat! Service is friendly but somewhat slow, prices are very reasonable indeed.
Great choice at breakfast and it was nice to sit outside by the pool and just chill a while. Mingles bar great for an evening drink with CJ and Clive on hand to serve you with a smile. Pool bar is also good.
We didn't do much sightseeing, what with the cricket! But we did take a stroll to Emancipation Park - interesting statue at the entrance!
The park is beautifully kept and there is a jogging track around the perimeter. They have operatives that go in and wash the benches from top to bottom - we could learn a lot from these people!
Although I haven't stayed at the Pegasus or the Hilton, I know people who have and they insist The Courtleigh is the best option for your stay in Kingston.

I was booked in here for a business trip that included a weekend stay. The staff are extremely courteous and the restaurant in the hotel is really outstanding. The air conditioning doesn't work very well although they brought a fan to the room when requested. My only serious complaint isn't the hotel but its location which is directly across from an amusement park with loud music playing on Friday nights that didn't stop until 1045 pm. I expect it will also play throughout the rest of the weekend also. The location is in between a business district and a poor section of town. Across from the hotel is a highly recommended Jerk restaurant that is very popular on the north side of Emancipation park. While walking on the street I was approached by drug sellers, numerous beggers and there are a large amount of homeless people laying about the local.
