Tropical Park Reviews

Wonderful getaway from the cold in Europe
9 / 10
Nov 2011, Tiburon

We spent a great week at Tropical Park in November. The appartments are spacious, clean, very well equipped. The kitchen has a stove with oven, coffee machine, toaster, microwave, kettle. Nice sunny balcony with laundry drying rack. TV with Spanish, French, German, British, American and even Russian channels. We had very reasonable wireless access for a week for 25 Euros (my husband needed to check in at work every once in a while). The hotel has two saltwater pools, both with a kiddy pool, sauna, a huge jacuzzi, squash and tennis courts and a gym. We used the jacuzzi which is a bargain at 3 Euros for 30 minutes, no matter how many people (you could probably fit 10 comfortably). There are a good number of sun chairs in the pool areas. We always found a free one, but we were there out of season. During high season it might be quite crowded.
There is entertainment in the evenings on a stage next to the pool and restaurant. As we are not interested in that, we were lucky to have an apartment far enough away from that area so we were not annoyed by the noise. The next hotel up the hill though, had a few shows in the evenings which we did hear. But then, the bedrooms are in the back of the apartments, away from any noise that can come from the balcony.
We had booked bed and breakfast. The breakfast buffet is well equipped with hot and cold foods and even has decent German bread.
We checked out the restaurants in the village and gave anything for British tourists a wide berth (I can eat English food when I'm at home). We had a very nice Spanish meal at Terraza el Jable opposite the hotel's supermarket on the roof of the Santander bank.
I can't say anything about public transportation, we had a rental car for the week, for which there was always a parking spot in front of the hotel (again, in summer you might have to park a bit further away).
Callao Salvaje has no beach, but at the moment an artificial beach is being built across the road from the hotel.
All in all we had a fabulous week at Tropical Park and may very well be back next year.

Fantastic week, lovely Apartments.

Returned today from a fantastic week at Tropical Park Apartments. Room very clean and well stocked with cups, tea towels, soap in the bathroom, wine glasses and an Ironing Board and Iron - sucessfully avoided these last items though!! Could have benefitted from a hair-dryer, but can understand why these are not supplied. Food in the restaurant was very good, we had the buffet and also a meal from the main menu in the week. Entertainment was good, but very low key, which suited us perfectly. Local area very pleasant with good retaurants in easy reach - we would definately recommend Delfins at the bottom of the hill, down a lot of steps but worth the trip just for the views and the sunset!! Also would recommend a trip to La Caleta, near the Golf resort. We had three fantastic meals in La Caleta, notably, Piscis restaurant, the Tapas Bar next door and the Rosso Sur Mare. We are looking forward to returning next year with the kids in tow!!

Jan 2011, Cool Cat

I just came back from staying in Tropical Park and have nothing but good things to say. The apartment was clean, everything worked, the staff were friendly. See you normally pay for what you get (believe me I have stayed in some real dirty, poor state apartments in Spain before). With Tropical Park, it was pleasantly suprising. My friend stayed in the bedroom, whilst I had the sofa bed. There was also a lovely fan above my head when I felt hot.
Only on one day our toilet broke and they came and repaired it in no time. But apart from that, there were no other significant issues.
On a good note, the apartment was close to many local restruants and few bars, it wasnt like Playa Los Americas, it was much quiter and relaxing due to the area being quiet. Also, the local sea front was 2 mins walk and it was gorgeous!!
Im definately going back here again and I recommend it!!!!

This was our 3rd visit to tropical park, the rooms are very spacious and clean.
Hotel staff are very friendly especially Thomas, Carlos & Mohammed (restaurant staff)
The facilities are excellent. Neil the entertainer is great, entertains all ages including adults. The bar tropical is excellent from 10pm till 2am with nightly shows and karaoke for those who cant sing.
We throughly enjoyed our stay and have booked for July 2009.

  • Advice: A low key resort for those wanting to relax.
  • Activities: Tropical park restaurant, Sorpresa Sorpresa and Cafe Europa.

What a lovely resort for a young family.
The apartments are massive and very well equipped, and it has two lovely big pools, one next to the bar and restaurant that the entertainer caters for, and a quieter one.
The entertainer was terrific, and organised games for both kids and adults, but there wasn't anything for pre-school - but I guess thats up to the parents!
There is entertainment (bands, singers, dancers, hypnotist etc) at the bar every night till 2.00am.
The only down side was the food from the restaurant, although I wasn't full board, so maybe they make more of an effort for them.
Great surrounding area, and the zoo, aqua park and Playas des Americas are not too far away.
No Sky TV at the bar either, but there are several bars with it nearby.
I would definitely recommend the resort, but DON'T book with OTB holidays. They balls'd up our flight bookings and booked my 2 year old son on as an infant, so I had to buy a ticket for him at the check-in desk - £325 out of the holiday budget! I am claiming it back - but certainly a hassle you do not need!

I really would recommend these apartments to anyone there is plenty of amenenties like a supermarket on-site launderette ,pool-bar,restaraunt,and cocktail bar the resort is lovely, if you are after a 18-30 kind of resort do not come here, but if you want a nice relaxing holiday it is the perfect place to come.
There is a selection of bars and restaraunts my faves are the delphin and beckhams, titanic does excellent pizzas and there is plenty of chinese restraunts to go to.
I would also recommend the flipper uno boat trip excellent! just watch out for pervy pedro.
Also i have been told that loro parque is a must.
For transfers use el mar from tenerife reina sofia its 25 euro there and back really good efficient travel.

This is a lovely complex. We are 30 and took our 8 month old daughter and were very comfortable. The setting is idyllic, the apartments are very clean. We loved the pool area best - it is astroturfed so no burning feet or slippy tiles. The pools are not heated but are great as it is so warm. We had temperatures in the 30's. The pool area is very quiet - loads of sunbeds and tables, although there is a charge for umbrellas. Both pools have a great kids section and the poolside bar is cheap and very good.
The resort is very laid back but there are about 15-20 restaurants and bars, but no beach!! Apparently one is planned though. You are advised to hire a car which we did before we went. If you don't fancy driving, there is a good bus service (every 5 minutes) to Los Cristianos and Las Americas.
There is no car park, but there is loads of space on the road outside - we got the same space outside our door for the whole week.
The only downside was the noise from the entertainment but that was just me being fussy as it was only from 9-10!
Staff were very helpful. Our wee one took ill and at 5 in the morning they organised a doctor who was with us within half an hour. The welcome meeting is cheesy but you get free sangria!!
There is an onsite supermarket which is very cheap and gives a 5% discount to residents.
We would recommend you visit Buzzin Bar for a great breakfast and Bonnie's Tea Room for some of the best cakes you will ever see. (Really!)
Al in all, a very nice resort, great for all ages. If you want loud music, clubs and bar crawls, this is not for you - Las Americas is your best bet. Callao Salveje is expanding and building work is ongoing and apparently a beach will be added. There is no construction noise and the views aren't spoiled. Travel here with complete confidence. I am sure you will love it.

Went to Tropical Park at the start of January and had a brilliant time.
You couldn’t fault the rooms; they were cleaned every day apart from Sunday.
The apartments have two great size pools and two baby pools, a restaurant and bar also on site. The staff were fantastic and always went out of the way for you especially "Mohammed"; all the staff also spoke good English.
Entertainment all the time, day and night. Also a few good restaurants around Callao Salvaje. If you wanted to go into Las Americas I would recommend travelling by bus as it is 15 euros each way in a taxi. Great bars and restaurants there too, a bar for the family is Wali Haii and a brilliant restaurant is Marios who makes the whole family welcome.
I would highly recommend Tropical Park.

Had a fantastic 2 weeks, hotel staff are very helpful. The two pools are very good with astro turf around poolside (feet don't burn) rather than tiles.
Entertainment is every day/night except Friday (change over day), water polo/volley ball, killer darts/pool etc. are organised during the day and the evening there are shows which you can join in. Milo the entertainer is fantastic and puts himself out to help you even when he is off duty.
The apartments are clean and a good size, with an iron & ironing board if needed, satellite TV and a large safe where you can store cameras etc, when not in use. Maid service is good.
The restaurant food and service are excellent, Carlos, Darcil and Mohammed are great and have time for you.
Try Jungle Park in Arona kids will love it and not expensive either.
Cannot wait to go back in October!

I, my wife, and two children...
5 / 10
Jul 2007, Rondetto

I, my wife, and two children travelled to Costa Adeje after booking the holiday on the internet. It sounded a good place for families.
However, the resort is not geared up for family holidays, there is very little to do in the day or the evenings. There are several cafes/bars and that's about it.
The Tropical Park complex was clean and well maintained, our room was acceptable and the evening entertainment passable. For evening entertainment and a good selection of bars etc, you have to pay about 16 Euros each way to go into Playa de Las Americas.
The complex is about 100 mts to a rocky/pebbled beach. It is approximately 18 miles to the airport which will cost about 30 Euros by taxi.
A few days into our holiday, we locked our windows and door and went out for the afternoon. We arrived back at the complex to find the window open and our room had been burgled. Of course we had made sure it was locked before we went out.
We had to hire a taxi to the Police station in Playa de Las Americas, the hotel refused to pay for this. No one in the station spoke English, we managed to get a police report, but in Spanish. I would warn anyone travelling to this resort, and this complex, beware of burglars and be warned this is not a resort where you will find any sort of nightlife.
In short, we lost £600 worth of items some of which were the children’s play stations and I Pods. The staff at the Tropical gardens were to say the least arrogant and most unhelpful to our losses.
This is one complex and one resort I cannot recommend to anyone.

Had a lovely holiday, apartment had...

Aug 2006, Mrs Sharpes

Had a lovely holiday, apartment had everything and more that you could need for a s/c holiday. Even the sofa bed was ok. The only down side to our apartment was it was too near the main stair case and late night bar.
If you are like me and like to sleep before 2am then this is not the apartment for you. (unless you take your ear plugs ). The entertainment was good, some repeated in the 2nd week. No entertainment Friday.
Maid service every day except Sunday. Quiet resort with a few nice places to eat. Not bothered once with timeshares. There is no beach but plenty in the other resorts near by. Buses stop every hour outside the hotel. Didn't think much of the water park, loungers (3.5 euros ) doughnuts (7 euros) each.
A very expensive day out. Tidei was a really good day out. Cable car to the top was nearly as much as the trip, but well worth it. If you have teenagers like me and they’re missing their computers, then there is an internet cafe by the chemist.
A very enjoyable holiday would go back but ask for another apartment. Very friendly and helpful staff. A lot of stairs and no lifts. 2 good sized pools. Washer and drying machines by the pool area.
This is a holiday for those looking to relax and unwind, if you want night life then Americas is a 40 min bus ride. Be careful with taxis they charge what they like.
