Stayed at this chalet hotel for one week on a hotel room half board basis.
We were surprised and disappointed at the particularly low standard of accommodation and food. We booked this holiday through Mark Warner and were expecting a fairly decent standard of service and food.
The rooms were basic beyond belief, considering it was a three star rating. Food was the worst that we have ever experienced in hotel and chalet catering on a skiing holiday. The place was cold, various guests commented on how cold their rooms were. Access to the skiing was good, with a very efficient bus service that the Tignes pass covers.
However, the area of Lavachet (in which this chalet hotel is situated) is the more down market part of Tignes and away from all the main restaurants and bars. However, across the road there is a very good bar/restaurant called Le Brasero (spelling may be wrong - but easy to find) that serves a very nice evening menu/afternoon snacks with all the sports on Sky available if you like rugby/football/cricket etc.
The overall place gave the impression that Mark Warner could have rented it for the 'skiing season' with little thought to comfort and more to just offering the customer a basic standard of accommodation - minus the standard price! Basically this chalet hotel is a bed in which to sleep after a hard day's skiing but don't expect anything more (even if it is 'Mark Warner'). A company like Mark Warner should be offering a lot better if they want repeat customers.
