Just perfect!
from Babywipe
This is a gem of a hotel. Perfectly situated, the staff couldn't be nicer and the (recently refurbished) rooms are amazing. We stayed on the final leg of our honeymoon and it couldn't have been more perfect. Romantic, quiet setting with all the restaurants, bars, and shops of the Marais within walking distance. A wonderful place.
BEST HOTEL IN PARIS
from plc4
I will be staying at the Pavillon De La Reine for the 4th time this May. My friends, and family have joined us for our visits and it is always wonderful. This hotel is breathtaking, from the location to the rooms. The staff is more than helpful and always available day or night. One thing that is important to me is a good breakfast-the buffet that the hotel serves is awesome! I have stayed in many hotels in Paris, and you ususally get a roll and a cup of coffee-not here!!! (eggs, bacon, bread, yogurt, cereal, etc.) Yes, the standard/superior rooms are small-but so what! They are beautiful and always clean. My advice would be to stay in a duplex room or duplex suite- they have 2 levels and are amazing. You might as well splurge if your at this hotel-it's worth it. Note* The rooms have Stereo/Cd players, don't forget to make or bring music you like ( your ipod will not work here, even with the euro plugs the ipod plug is too strong for their outlets). I brought my mini ipod JBL stereo and the plug was too big. ( I even went to the electronic store and tried to buy a plug!) Last-LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! The hotel is situated back from the street in the Place Des Vosges! This is an amazing location, right in the heart of the Marais. Your steps away from the best shopping and wonderful restauarants. Go Go Go!
BEAUTIFUL HOTEL
from funkdom
What a fantastic place. It exceeded all our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is idyllic and our duplex room was huge, especially by Parisian standards. We will definitely return.

Our third stay at this delightful hotel, in the heart of a part of Paris that we now regard as 'home'. It was a romantic break. We went for lunch to the George V – and had no feeling that we'd have been any happier staying there. A perfect, discreet, no-fuss sort of hotel, in a beautiful location.
A wonderful hotel
from WaldronofLondon
We enjoyed 5 nights at this wonderful hotel over New Year. Highlights: (1) Brilliant location - just off the Place des Vosges; peaceful and safe day or even night; we returned one evening at midnight and were reassured by the enormous oak doors which shut off the hotel from Place des Vosges! (2) Superb historic building , beautifully decorated common parts (3) Wonderful and friendly staff; no disdain for English speakers! (4) Excellent buffet breakfast (5) Reliable concierge (he recommended a fabulous bistro, 5 minutes walk away, Gaspard de la Nuit, which we had already found for ourselves - well worth a visit as the atmosphere is cosy, the food wonderful and all the other diners were French!; he also got us a reservation at L'Ambroisie, on Place des Vosges itself, 3 Michelin stars and a gourmet's delight - provided the gourmet is willing to pay upwards of E200 a head) (6) A home-from-home feeling - including the delightful honesty bar with real log fire (it felt more like the Cotswolds than central Paris!) We did hear that the hotel will have some building work in the near future (a spa is planned for the basement) so travellers are advised to check with the hotel that they will not be inconvenienced by the noise. Our rooms were not massive but this is not untypical in Paris. They were well decorated and comfortable. If we had any minor criticism, it is that the bath water was not quite hot enough. Overall, we loved the location and loved the hotel. So much more fun and atmosphere than the swanky 5* hotels we have stayed in in Paris before!
Fabulous hotel, storybook location
from Ralff
Entry through a private "residents only" courtyard in the Place de Vosages - the first hint that luxury awaits you - an incredible feeling. Pass the lobby honor bar, and reception is effecient and courteous. We had one of the top floor suites that you see in the web site -2 rooms, wood beam exposed ceilings, and the huge iron bed. The room was quiet, overlooking the roofs of the adjacent residential area of the Marais. You are in walking distance of restaurants, wine bars, shops and the galleries of the Place de Vosges are below you in the arcades onf the square. Get the breakfast as part of the hotel deals if you eat larger US-style breakfasts or walk around and find your own secret place. Magical.
Paradise

We went as a group for business purposes. We were all delighted with the outside facade and were not disappointed with the interior. It felt grand, charming , romantic and truly Parisian. My husband and I stayed in a room that had two stories, The upstairs being the bedroom and ensuite. The concierge was wonderful and gave me free coupons to some of the local sights. I would highly recommend this hotel and hope that I get another opportunity to stay there again. ps careful where you step when outside. They really seem to have a problem with people picking up after their dogs.
A rare experience
from QueenMimi
This was our last hotel in Europe. I had picked it on the basis of it being our last memories of a special trip. We were not disappointed. From the minute that you walk through the glass doors into the beautiful courtyard, you know that you are going to have a special experience. We arrived very early in the morning, so our room was not ready. The concierge just sent us down to breakfast and told us to tell them that we were checking in that down. The breakfast is wonderful. Freshly squeezed orange juice, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, all that a person could want. One day, my husband was not feeling well. We returned from walking to the Picasso Museum which is close by. Our room had not been cleaned. I saw a cleaning lady near our room. I asked if we could have our room cleaned, since my husband was going into rest. She told us that was not her room, but she would call the person responsible for the room and they would get it done. We came back from a short lunch and they were finishing up the room. The maid came to find us as soon as the room was completed, so that my husband could go up and rest. Whenever we had a question at the front desk about how to get somewhere, they would work on it until they got the answer completely figured out for us. On the last day, we could not get a cab to the airport because of a trade show. They called all the cab companies they that knew. No one would come. The concierge showed us how to get to the metro station, where to get off on the metro to transfer to the RER at the train station. to get to the airport. He told us that it would be just as fast as taking a cab. It was (but a lot more stressful!!). Our room was like a French country side inn room. we were overlooking a beautiful little courtyard with flowers. Within two blocks are two restaurants that are recommended by the Rick Steves' travel book. When we go back to Paris, we will definitely go back to this hotel.
lovely, but expensive...
from aquadotto
Service was excellent but the room was small and with no view (interior courtyard). To be fair, due to a flight delay we arrived late (about midnight) and therefore did not get the automatic upgrade mentioned in some other reviews. I might be singing a different tune if we had been bumped up to a suite. The room (#62) was small as was the bathroom which discouragingly had mould. You would think they could scrub away the mould for the prices charged. The room was near the elevator but elevator noise was not an issue. The service was excellent. It was our honeymoon and the hotel provided a lovely bottle of champagne on arrival. There were free Herald-Tribunes – most good hotels do this now and rightly so. They also came through when I had a minor dental problem - I had to see a dentist on short notice. They got me an appointment the next morning at 8:30 with an excellent dentist within walking distance. The hotel is very quiet and in a fantastic location – the Marais is really the best area in Paris right now. Cab from the airport was about 50 euros. We didn’t take the rather expensive breakfast. Instead, I recommend the excellent Café Hugo just steps away where you can have coffee and croissants with Parisians (great for lunch too). We can also recommend the superb restaurant “Les Bonnes Souers” which is nearby and where the chocolate cake (chocolat moulleux) is unbelievable. Also the cucumber gazpacho and the seared red tuna (thon rouge mi-cuit).
Not worth the money
from bosmom
I planned a 3 night stay at this hotel in July at the end of a long trip to France. Considering the reviews, the cost, and the status of the hotel, I was expecting 4-star luxury and comfort. What I got was a small room with one window next to the elevator with dull brown furnishings, overlooking a not very interesting courtyard. The interior design of the room was heavy and dark, really dull and depressing. It all felt old and tired and out of date. The television was tiny with bad reception; the bathroom and the bed were okay, but, again, nothing special. For internet access, the hotel offered one small laptop (always occupied) with a nearly unreadable screen in the lobby. When I checked in, there was one person at the desk. He was reasonably nice but he was harried and seemed exhausted. I ordered breakfast in my room and it was average for Paris. I checked out after one night and checked into a small, reasonably priced 3-star hotel in the 7th and loved it. This is not a bad hotel but it's not worth the price. Go to Place des Vosges for dinner, or take a sandwich and sit in the square. It's beautiful. You don't need to pay these overpriced room rates to enjoy the neighborhood. There are much better ways to spend your money in Paris!

This is a fantastic modern hotel tucked away in the fashionable Marais Quarter of Paris. The hotel had recently been refurbished and the room was decorated with luscious deep colours and huge beds. The bathrooms are large for Paris with a double sink and roomy bath and... more
