This hotel is in a fabulous location, just off the strip and therefore you are not paying "inflated" strip prices to stay there. There is a casino which you do have to walk through to get to the elevator to go to the rooms. The elevator is "key" activated and therefore... more

We travelled to Vegas as my parents were renewing their wedding vows. After the trip as much as they said their hotel was great (the Mandaley Bay) they would have preferred Hooters where we stayed. It is in a great location, isn’t as huge as the other hotels (which you... more

I booked a two week stay at this hotel through 3 different internet sites, because of the price fluctuation between week and weekend bookings for Las Vegas (always more expensive on a weekend!). When I arrived at the hotel I showed them my bookings and they ensured a... more

Hooray Hooray its a Hooters Holiday - Superb Rooms
Dear TripAdvisor Community, The Review is essential for the Standard Room. Room rate was about 180$ a night (not that cheap ah? ;). This Review is written by myself, I am airliner and get pretty much around, all over the world, luxury hotels, standard hotels and even youth hostel. ONLINE APPEARANCE 3 of 5 stars In my opinion the website is nothing special. However you find rarely Information about the accommodation and that’s the most important... Hooter - You can do better! ONLINE INQUIRES 5 of 5 stars If you write an inquiry to reservations they are helpful. On the 2nd attempt They didn’t answer - the reason I don’t now. They write in short sentences - Don’t expect more than 2 lines, but the way they write is very nice. RESERVATION 2 of 5 stars I checked the prices online. As I booked via telephone I my room rate was Higher than rated on the net. She could not explain me why... The booking process: When you dial the number, I guess it’s the front desk picking up and I was Very impressed how someone can say such a long sentence in such a short time - Something like "Welcome to the Hooters casino hotel my name is ... how may I help you?!" and now imagine someone saying that in exactly 2 seconds! I Got transferred to reservations.. And now the worst part.. I waited.. and waited.. and waited... after 9 minutes I heard a "Hello my na... one Second!" and I waited..for another minute... then she said Hello again and asked out my dates.. while I told her the dates I got to listen some kind of music. I did not find out if she did that because she didn’t want me to hear the clip claps of the keyboard or if she did that because she was doing that While speaking to someone else. As I told her that I want to book by credit card I gave her the credit card company name (well known) and she said "ah.. one moment"... I waited while hearing some music again... and she came back to me with "what was the name?" "one moment" and I waited again...then I was told that they only accept Visa and one other credit card (forgot the name). If the hotel only accept 2 credit cards for booking I dont understand whats the big deal - no need to wait in line so long. After all I got a "you made it!" or so - which was like a standard sentence. However I had to ask for the confirmation number, I did not know that she didnt tell me because she was sending an email confirmation 20 minutes later - but am I supposed to know? So big minus for the very long booking process (15 minutes - much money if you call from Europe). Minus for not knowing the credit card names and a big minus for not being able to tell why there is a difference in the price when booking by telephone, being told "so you can book by internet" is not such a nice answer, even if you can not book the room I requested via internet. GETTING TO THE HOTEL - LOCATION 5 of 5 stars Its very easy, by taxi its only 8-10 US Dollar. You may take a shuttle (like ShortLine or any other). But when being 2 or more persons - even with luggage I would take a cap - I mean - hey, its Vegas, you gonna spend a lot more than 8 Dollar. The ride is about 6-12 Minutes. The hotel is vis-à-vis of the MGM Grand - if you cross the street you are at the MGM Main Entrance. On your left hand side is the Tropicana, and the next Hotel - also to the left - is the Excalibur (not a very nice hotel btw) and the New York New York. Hooters has a really good Location on the strip. The Mono Rail Station is located just across the street at the MGM. ARRIVING AT THE HOTEL 5 of 5 We arrived on Friday. When getting there in the evening someone was juddering on the doorknob and opened the car door. I felt a little bit like in a robbery but it was a hooters girl "Welcome to Hooters - do you need help with your luggage?" while I said no a bell boy was already opening the trunk and my carry on fall out, it was damaged a little. But he was very nice and said that he was sorry - no minus for that because I like honest people. I was explained were the reception is by the hooters girl, but actually you cant miss it.. Check In 4 of 5 stars Our flight was delayed and the lobby was very loud and crowded - no wonder - the lobby is 3 in 1 - reception, bar and casino. The Madame, not an hooters girl asked for my passport and I was told my room number and that I had to turn right after the bar. Well sounds easy, but believe me - it wasn’t... you have so many options to turn right, and actually there were many bars. So we asked a hooters girl, she explained us and we went... into the wrong elevator (also on the right). Long story, finally we found us. But we saw many people on our way searching something.. even lavatories. I heard that hooters has a "location map" for the inside of the Hotel - however I did not get one - for a reason which I didn’t find out yet. Also I asked if there is a coffee maker in the room - she said no, as I later found out there was one... lil’ strange. The Room 5 of 5 stars Standard room: Very spacey, Very nice, very WOW :-) It was really clean. The room is bright, the beds are unusual high (I really liked it) and very comfy. You got a lot of soaps, towels and stuff like that. Also there is an in room safe, iron board and ironer, coffee machine with some coffee bags and instant milk. Water pressure was very good and constant. Actually the safe was broken - will mention more in the next part. If you have a room facing the MGM you will have all the air conditions and exhauster of the restaurants below you blowing out hot stinky (in the evening most terrible) air - it was very loud and impossible to open the window at night but that’s not such a big deal because you have air condition and heater in room. As I opened the window in noon I had a few hours later onionskin in my room - no joke - I guess it was blowed up by all the hot oily air. Even my room was at floor 6 it was like sleeping being next to an airplane. Mentioning airplanes, Airplane noise was NOT an issue.. you only had the helicopters touring around a few times a day, can be bothersome but hey, its the strip and there is nothing the hotel can do about it. Did I mention the plant already which is right next to your bed? I liked it... You will find 4 bottles of water in your room, the hotel will charge you 4$ per Bottle ("because its the desert out there"). Television is superb. Your are connected with the next room - you can open your door, but if you wish to go to the "neighbour" he has to open it as well. However I didn’t feel very safe that way and the last day it was really loud - I felt like they were in my room. Telephone .75$ minimum for every call (even toll free numbers). I missed a casket next to the bed. New Furniture - you will sleep like a king / queen! Although a VERY nice room and definitely better than most of all the other 3* Hotels in Vegas. HOUSE KEEPING 5 of 5 stars House keeping was, except the day before we left, very good - I guess she was in a rush the day before we left. The room was always clean and there was nothing to complain, even the mirrors were clean, the curtains were closed and the light was turned on, I don’t know what it was good for, but I didn’t mind. When meeting Housekeeping in the floor they greeted (most likely in Spanish), nice. Your bed sheets will be changed only by requesting it - simply but that little card next to your bed. For changing the towels you have to let them fall on ground or place them somewhere else in the room (see the card in the bathroom). ROOM PROBLEMS - SOLUTIONS 5 of 5 stars Safe was closed as I arrived, since it was an electrical safe and didn’t know the combination (how should I?) I called housekeeping, they said someone will come to look for it. Well, I waited .. and waited.. and after 40 minutes I called again and heart that Housekeeping is closed now and I can call tomorrow again. So I called the operator and they said - again - that someone will come. And he came after 5 minutes. I am disappointed that my first request was forgotten... The security guy was very friendly, he opened it and told us that some things at the safe are broken but there is a way to use it - it will be fixed after our departure. I was ok with that. I wanted to give a tip - and already had the money in my hand - but he denied. Very surprising since most of other hotel employees walk with "hands wide open" to get tip for every little thing... Good to know that hooters has employees with attitude! Toll Free Numbers - I wanted to check something with my airline, so I called the toll free number as described on the telephone but it kept connecting me to the Hotel Tropicana (greetings to the guy which must have lost his mind after I called him again and asked for my flight- at least he was friendly as well). I went to the front desk, and there was a completely different number in their system, not the one I dialled, so it seems as the Hotel has problems with some toll free numbers. However she redeemed the charges made for the calls and spoke with the operator, she said she will connect me - and she did - finally it worked out. ELEVATORS 5 of 5 stars Fast! Never waited really long. Unfortunately they were dirty! Sometimes there was a bad tasting air of alcohol and vomit in the air. But that was the only dirty part of the hotel. HOOTERS GIRLS - CASINO - HOOTERS RESTAURANT - RESTAURANT - BAR 2 of 5 Well, I liked the Martini Bar, the Martini I had was the worst ever - not even with a lime, but they got some good goood music, even some life entertainment. Attendance was good the first evening, and they were quite busy. The second evening it was nearly empty and we waited 10 minutes for someone to taking our order, no one appeared - then we left... Hooters Bar - right next to the reception... I wanted to order a beer, however the Hooters Girl was busy with talking to some friends or so which arrived LATER than me and other guests at the bar. She took their order first. In that business something like that shouldn’t happen. You gotta do your business, talking to friends is one thing, but ignoring other guests and serving guests which you know from yesterday (and probably left some good tip) before other guests should definitely not happen - big minus. I have to say that there were 2 hooters girls at the bar, and no one took care of us the first 4 minutes. Casino - some of the attendants were very rude and did not want to explain game rules. You see some hooters girls as well in the casino, some of them are nice and explain the rules, however the attendants in "normal" shirts are horrible. I wouldn’t say that it is a real casino, you better play somewhere else,.. there are about 800 slots with spare place to move - reception - hotel elevators - bars is next to the casino. The Bait shoppe, that’s were I got my breakfast - not very cheap but very friendly staff! In the evening staff changes and as I requested a bagel and I think I did overstrain he a little bit, he was searching for it, and came back after 3 minutes "sorry, what did you want?". Hooters Restaurant - I liked other Hooters Restaurants more, this one is just to overrun. Hooter Girls - in front of the hotel, sometimes in the casino at the table, at the bar and at the restaurant. If there are special events you will find one (I only saw one) at the pool. Some of them are nice, some of them can not greet. You have to make a picture yourself. THE POOL 3 of 5 Very small, don’t plan to practise for your next Olympic game, I felt a little bit like a fish in a glass of water, however it was clean water. Once I listened to the live entertainment at the pool, this was the part as I was happy that I had a room facing the MGM and having some onion skins in my room - sorry, but that was just not enjoyable - it was some entertainer and I felt like American Idol at its worst. HOOTERS SHOP 3 of 5 stars Very disappointing .. a few overpriced caps and shirts. Nothing spectacular. SECURITY 5 of 5 stars I felt very secure. Security staff is very friendly! Some of them don’t know much about the machines or the rules but hey, they are security and they do their job - I got controlled 2 times in less than 5 minutes (ok, that was a little bit bothering and needs some improvement). PARKING SPACE N/A There is a parking facility next to the hotel but I did not use it. TO MENTION 5 of 5 stars I had a problem with my personal mobile phone charger, guess what, the security did supply me with one, I doubt that any other hotel would do something like that and go on searching a mobile phone charger. Well done Hooters! WHAT IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT LAS VEGAS 3 of 5 stars I came up 2 times on different days asking if they would know if there is a footlockers in Las Vegas. Once I was send away with an "don’t know" and the other one I felt like she knew but she did send me to the "door men". Maybe the Hotel Staff does not life in Vegas, but there is one at the Fashion Show Mall. HOTEL GUESTS FAMILIES N/A Well, most of them are men! I would say about 85% if not more... The Hotel was very good booked as I stayed there and at one night it was booked out I was told. Sorry, but the Hotel is not very family friendly, I doubt that your children want to see a miss contest and "hooters chicks" unless they are 16 years of age. I only saw once a mom with a child, but I don’t know if she was a hotel guest. If you go to Vegas with your children’s I would recommend another hotel, since there are so many other. CHECK OUT 2 of 5 stars As we approached the reception we said "good morning" and got nothing in reply, not a hello, not a how can I help you - nothing. I don’t know why, seems like he was not in a good mood - but is that my fault? He didn’t even ask for the room cards, in fact he said nearly nothing. I paid in cash and had to sign a paper that hooters can make me liable for any charges if the credit card firm fails to pay - Hello? I paid in cash, I don’t like to sign for unnecessary papers but I had to - otherwise he wouldn’t hand out me the cheque that everything is paid. As I took the guest survey he said "have a nice day" which more sounded like "and now get the hell out of here". Don’t understand that unnecessary behaviour.. To close the review I have to say that the Hooters Casino Las Vegas Resort is a great Hotel with some great people. People like the Hooters Girl with glasses in front of the hotel - always having a smile and greeting people at any day or night time - even opening the doors sometimes - people like the employees at the Bait in the morning - making a delicious bagel - people like the Security guy refusing to take any tip instead of expecting tip with arms wide open ... and providing me with a mobile phone charger - People like the miss which helped me out with the 800 number. I'm sorry to say that the Hotel also has some people which make ruin the rating of this review a bit. Facing the fact that the room rate was about 180$ a night for a double room, not very cheap, I can say that I really enjoyed my stay. I can recommend this Hotel to everyone - only not to families - its just to loud and not the right ambient I guess. It's not the Bellagio.. not the Wynn or the Mandalay Bay but its the HOOTERS and you have to face the fact when you book it. You will be living in really nice clean rooms and hopefully you will find yourself with great people. If I come back to Vegas I will probably stay there again, even if I want to test some other Vegas Hotels. The Gondolas of Venice are the Hooters Girls. The New York yellow cabs are all the men running around at the hotel. And the shiny golden facade of the mandalay bay is the warm friendliness’ of some hotel employees. All the best for your next Vegas Trip!
not ready for the public
If I went back to Las Vegas I would not stay here again. This was my fist time to Vegas and staying at this place took away from all the exciting Vegas stuff. I noticed that at all the other hotels in Vegas had a whole lot of things to do inside the resort but Hooters didn't have much at all. Luckily it was across the road from th MGM Grand. There were not many restaraunts inside the resort and not alot of slot machines and tables compared to the other places. The beds were full beds and not very big for 2 people. It says that it is a new resort but it's not, it's a renovated one.
Almost perfect
WeI stayed for 5 nights, and will return. The customer service was the best I have ever experienced at a Vegas Hotel. The rooms were nice, with great new beds. We never heard another person when we were in our rooms, so were either there on a quiet week, or the rooms are well insulated. The pool area is large for the size of the hotel with plenty of loungers. Expanding the pool bar food menu would be a suggestion, however the indoor restaurants are easy to get into. We had an evening flight out, and were allowed to keep our room until 4 with no charge. They seem to have ironed out the bugs from the grand opening as we ran into no issues.
Would stay there again
Although not everyone in my traveling party would agree, I thought it was a good value and I enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly, the beds were extremely comfortable, the Sushi bar (once you could find it) was AWESOME! It has a more relaxed feel than the big casinos. The pool area was very nice too. I think once they have a little more time to smooth out the kinks, this will be a very popular hotel.
Thumbs Up
Will absolutly stay here again... This place is a giant Hooters Resturant with rooms. Prior to staying I did read the reviews posted and frankly I am disappointed with them. Everyone there was more than accomodating. Great dealers with probably the best attitudes I have ever seen (Lilia and Steve are ones to remember). Most comfortable bed (probably because it was new). Ok, so it's not MGM or Belagio but for the price this is an excellant choice. There are some bugs to be worked out but what do you expect from a renovated hotel. If it was built from the ground up, I'm sure we would be looking at perfection. Best way to describe it is by their own tag line "Delightfully Tacky, yet Unrefined". Good Job HOOTERS!!!! P.S. I forgot to mention how friggin hot the women are working here....
Unbelievable
WOW, Hooters is the worst place I've stayed in Vegas. The restaurant is the worst, which is very suprising since that is there business. Spent about 2 hours trying to get our food. The waitress kept telling us that it would be another minute or two. I think that they kept giving our food to the wrong table. Horrible.
Nice Rooms, horrible customer service
I checked into Hooters on 3-28-06 and we stayed three days. Before leaving I was worried because this hotel was not getting good reviews. I decided to stay here anyways. We had a very quick check-in, but the directions to get to our room were horrible. We asked one of the waitresses while we were walking around trying to find our room, she did not know. Like the post above we were in a two-story building across from the hotel. I thought when we entered this building we were going to check out and stay somewhere else. The door to enter this hotel was broke and the hallway was very dirty. When we got to our room, the room was nice. There were no bar stools but that was not a huge deal. There was a sticker for$4.00 water, but no water. We called the front desk and they said they would take care of it. The casino was very small. The drink service was not good at all. I played at the same machine for a hour and was never offered a drink. I went elsewhere and received a drink in ten minutes. Leaving this hotel I thought for the most part it was not that bad and I would think about staying here again. I put the hotel charges on my credit card as well as most of my Vegas trip. When I went pay my credit card today I was billed for my room twice. I called and was transferred to an answering service. I called back about an hour later, and again was transferred to an answering service. I left a message this time. I wrote an email to them and received a response stating that someone will get back to me soon. Four hours later, I have heard nothing. For this reason alone I would not stay here again. It should not take a company this long to get back to someone.
Fun Experience with some room for improvement
My husband took me to the Hooters Casino and Hotel as a surprise birthday trip to Vegas. We had heard it advertised on a local radio station. Everything was clean and new. The casino was small but fun. My big dissapointment was that we stayed in the two story building adjacent to the main hotel, and it was not secure. The entry door to the building was unlocked, and there was no securiy in sight. Also, our balcony door was unlocked when we arrived, and with scaffolding still up on the building, it would have been really easy for someone to break in if we had not checked the door. However, it was a fun experience, and the price was great!
Hooters...It has its bumps
I stayed at Hooters over a weekend in March and found it to be okay. The rooms were clean and decent size and the casino was cozy but friendly. If you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you, but if you want a quiet place to sleep then this fits the bill. I thought the rooms were a bit tacky with the hooters colors, but still okay.
Great Hotel! Will Definitely Go Back!!
We stayed at Hooters the second weekend it was open. They were still finishing up the remodel, but we enjoyed our stay none-the-less. Cons: Hotel & Rooms were not complete. We didn't have a dresser or armoire, so clothes had to stay in the suitcase. They did have a cute "Wanted:Your Furniture" poster on the wall that explained the missing furniture. I'm sure that those problems have been cleared up by now. Pros: EXTREMELY friendly staff!! They went out of their way to make sure my friends and I all had rooms right next to each other, they helped us arrange a car rental & were great with suggestions of places to visit in the area. I had no problem with room service. The prices are OUTSTANDING - no $7.00 grapefruits here. I believe the wings were the same price in the restaurant as they were in the room. They were HOT and delicious! The casino area was small, but NOT SMOKEY - such a plus! Dealers and waitresses were very friendly. Hooters is a fun place to experience Vegas and is convenient to everything - would definitely stay there again.
