The villa was well presented but there was no dishwasher as stated in the Cosmos specification. The pool was clean and serviced weekly. The sheets and towels were also changed weekly but that was the only 'maid service' we received. The upstairs bedroom floor was very creaky but all beds were comfortable. The equipment supplied was sufficient for our party of 5, but if you like your coffee or tea in a mug take them with you as only one was provided. If you arrive in the dark take a torch with you. I found it very difficult to find the keyhole at 12 midnight and had to resort to a light from a mobile phone! The instructions on how to find the villa were fine if you arrive in daylight but after dark it is not easy. The road surface after leaving Predara made me feel at home. It is very lumpy, bumpy and full of potholes, just like the roads where I live in Berkshire! The town of Denia is very pleasant, no British yobs, in fact I heard very few English voices in the 2 weeks. It is not really a tourist town as we know it and naturally, many of the locals only speak their language so brush up on your Spanish before you go. We only went out on one day to the Safari park at Vergel. It is rather run down but still worth a visit. The welcome pack contained bread, jam etc but no margerine, no matches for the gas cooker and no toilet rolls. Luckily the previous guests had left a few matches and a small amount of toilet paper, very welcome on a Saturday night at midnight!!
