I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay at these apartments. One thing I will get out of the way just in case it matters to you and that is to say that the apartments are basic and ours was not particularly well maintained, however for what time you are likely to spend in them who cares?
The owners are fabulous and the apartment complex is beautifully maintained with attractive planting. The pool is clean and just the right size for a quick dip, a lounge on a lilo or a few laps when it is emptier. It is surrounded by sunbeds and umbrellas which you may have to sit and wait for but then the bar is perfect for that and you can even snack on the delicious food made.
There is a sea view that I suppose could not be described as picturesque but it is the sea. If you want to head into the very hectic but friendly Hersonissos then you are only a slow stroll or a brief taxi ride away. There you will find innumerable places to eat and drink. Some would describe the place as tacky but I'd say that that description is a little harsh. There is a place to hire bikes etc from just down from the apartments etc etc everything you need. There is a largish supermarket close by and a small shop a stones throw away too.
If you fancy wandering somewhere quieter then a stroll up the hill from the apartments will bring you to the chilled out and relaxed villages of Koutouloufari and Piskopiano where you will find bars and shops etc but on a much more sedate pace.
As Hersonissos is a very young and lively resort expect to find a large number of young and lively people at the apartments but, don't let that put you off as there were families with young children staying there too and everyone was made welcome and the kids had great fun in the pool.
