To be perfectly honest, the brochure photos does not do this beautiful villa justice. It is an old style villa, tastefully decorated in Corfiot style and lovingly cared for by the sweet lady owner who comes in three times a week to clean. She lives in a basement part of the villa, but we only ever saw her on the allocated cleaning days.
Parking in its own off the road parking space, the villa is reached by going through closed metal gates and down a couple of set of steep steps - then up another set to the front door. There is a railed pathway around the side of the house, which takes you round the the balcony and poolside which have absolutely unbelievable views over the sea and coastline. The villa is perched on the edge of the hillside surrounded by olive groves - so standing at the edge of the pool balcony, you can look down on all the activities going on below, i.e. cruise boats, days trips, etc. The pool is lovely and one of those infinity type ones (I think)
The main balcony has a large wooden table with chairs which is ideal for any alfresco meals or drinks, but there is also a small table and 2 chairs and wicker table and chairs at the pool edge, perched over the view.
Inside the front door opens up into a large open-plan kitchen/sitting room area, which is comfortable and well furnished. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Bathroom is a tad on the small side, but fine really, though you do have to hold the shower above you as there is nowhere to hook it up to stand under. You do get used to it though. There is also a washing machine in there with a drying screen and pegs on the balcony. The main bedroom (opposite way around from the photo) is spacious with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The shuttered double patio doors open out onto the balcony. The other twin-bed room also opens on to the balcony.
There is no air-conditioning at the moment - but I think that it is on the cards for next year. There are plenty large fans to keep you cool enough though.
Elpida Villa is situated off the main road on the way out of Nissaki towards Kassiopi, but within walking distance of a couple of supermarkets, a fantastic taverna and a cocktail bar.
Well worth a visit!!!
