Just come back from a week's holiday. The hotel is modern, very clean and the food was good (although it was not always very hot). The staff were ever to friendly and helpful. The rooms were big, had a chargeable mini bar, were modern with carpeted floor and have a hairdryer.
Now for the negative - the entertainment for adults was, to say the least, very sadly lacking. The resident duo, although good, played exactly the same music for the full 7 days (I am sure that they must be bored doing this). Lift system is a little confusing at first. Receptions is on "H" floor, Restaurant is on "E" floor and pool is on "P" floor - not all lifts take you to the floor that you want to go to which, on arrival and initially was very frustrating!! My husband and I were on holiday with my dad (93 years old) - this is not a suitable hotel for a person with walking difficulties. The hotel is on a hill and to get out anywhere, you need to go down to the pool and then down a rather steep slope. The hotel boast of a holiday train to Porec - this is about 200 meters along the coast road exiting the hotel via the pool area - and the train gets packed!!! There is also a ferry boat but this is quite a walk away. If you are going on holiday with someone who has walking difficulties - this is not the hotel for you. There is a new hotel being built called the Hotel Galeb. This will be more suitable.
The area where the hotel is was very nice with a small market selling clothes and novelties - you can barter with them. Porec itself is a good 45 mins plus walk away and although some people did walk (once) I would not recommend it unles you enjoy walking. Rather than that, some poeple hired bikes and cycled into Porec.
Recomend a visit to Vrsar (next village) small and very unspoilt. If you go to Venice - be prepared to do a 40 mins speed walk when you get off the boat and .... be prepared to spend at least a futher 40 Euros per person (Taxi boat and Goldala) - part of the tour but extra to pay. Note - if you take a packed lunch from the hotel, there is nowhere to sit down to eat it.
