Melia Benidorm Hotel Reviews

Not a hotel suitable for british holiday makers hotel and room cleane enough but food negative and only suitable for spanish people. Entertainment you can forget about it and the whisky and brandy have fired up my stomach to such an axtent that we hare now tackin omeprazole capsules to relieve hartburn and upsets. The hotel most times was packed with 3 and 4 days spanih coferences attendances approximately 3 to 4 hundred people and all shouting at the same time even at dining. The hotel was cold if not freezing most days .The bar was using salt water from the mains to make tea or coffee, a couple of times we had to send back our orders cause it was disgusting to drink it. At the alicante Airport on return assistance was asked for but after checking in we where left standing for 40 mins waiting a wheel chair badly organised fo what is supposed to be a rebuilt modern airport and you have to walk for miles to go from cheking in to terminal without the aid of escalators or cat walks ,not recommended for people with walking difficulties

Sol Melia Benidorm

My partner and I have just come back from staying at the Sol Melia. On the whole it is a very good hotel. I had no problem with the safe, it worked well. The rooms were always cleaned to a high standard. Yes you can hear from other rooms, but this is due to the marble floors. What people forget when they are in Spain, is, it is Spain, and the Spannish will always be treated different to people of other countries. I found the Spannish to be very helpful and friendly, and they nealy all want to speak English. The pool was the main selling point for us. It is just great for all ages and abilities, although it can be a bit cold in the mornings.
The breakfast was always hot and there is plenty of choice.
I would have no worries staying at this hotel again. I would recommend the bars and restaurants right by the hotel. You are always guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome.

Just returned from a week in Benidorm at the Hotel Melia. This hotel is lovely, the pool is simply fabulous (although not very deep which is great for children). There were always plenty of sunbeds if you get out there early enough! The pool is definately the highlight of this hotel.
The rooms were spacious and airy although the walls are quite thin so you can here chairs being moved or people moving around above. The air conditioning works well and the room was cleaned to a high standard each evening. We never left anything of value in the safe as we'd read the reviews on here about the safes so thought best be safe than sorry (excuse the pun!).
We never went down to dinner in the evening as it was quite formal and we didn't take any formal clothes (gents must wear trousers and long sleeves) although there was a huge selection for breakfast and lunch.
On one evening we ordered room service for two cappuchino's, they told us 20 minutes but after 40 minutes they didn't arrive. Phoned again and they said another 20 minutes and they arrived 40 minutes later which isn't really what you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
There were not many English people at the hotel and I do have to say that I agree with some of the reviewers on here, the Spanish people seem to be treated better than the English.
I would definately go back to this hotel as it was lovely and even the coach driver told us we were staying in the best hotel in Benidorm on the way to the resort.

Beautiful Hotel, perfect location, fantastic pool, friendly staff, safe in rooms not working, left valuables with reception staff for main hotel safe - no problems. Room clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money
Had a little chuckle when i read earlier review about difficulty in finding free tables at dinner only to be moved - that did happen, but was not a big deal.

Highlight for me was the piano lounge in the fantastic lobby area for pleasant chill and pre dinner drinks.
Would definately recommend.

4* hotel located about 10 mins. Walk from beach. We found the staff very helpful and cheery.
It is an international hotel so don't expect burgers or chips every night. We found the food ok but it could have been warmer (there is a microwave oven which you can use) can't comment on entertainment as we went out on the town every night.
Benidorm is great for shopping' cigs. Are cheap and there's a market takes place twice a week. Weather was sunny but cool in the evening. This was our second time at the Melia and we would definitely return again.

WOW! What a bargain, we paid 20 a night for this hotel and we felt very posh. Rooms are gorge and very clean. The views are amazing. Have been h/b before and am quite a fussy eater when I'm not at home, but there was so much choice and the fish was to die for.
We went for the festival so there was 14 girls, we were the only group, is mainly for families and couples but they made us feel welcome. Conferences were on whilst we was there, so did have a lot of Spanish, and the cafe lady wasn't very good at English.
I will be going back with partner and child.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday in April and it was one of the best holidays we have had! The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the rooms were clean and spacious and the facilities were great. The staff did not speak much english which was a problem but all in all they seemed pleasant. The hotel is in walking distance from the beach and close to great wee pubs for a relaxing night out with some drinks.
I will definitely be returning here, not in April again though as it did rain a lot so perhaps during the summer when it will be warmer.
I would definitely recommend this hotel!

Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Melia Benidorm in September 2007. We had a fantastic time at a fantastic hotel!
First impressions of the hotel are "WOW!!" The reception is beautiful - it’s almost like you are in a tropical rainforest not a hotel reception! Check in was fast and the English-speaking staff were very friendly. They even asked us which floor we wanted to stay on (there are 25 floors and we opted for one of the higher floors for the views).
The rooms are lovely and of a great size. Plenty of space in the wardrobe for all of our things (a lot lol). The safe is free of charge to use which I thought was excellent. The bathroom is also of a good size and was extremely clean as was the bedroom.
The balcony is of a good size and we had a brilliant view (all rooms are south-ward facing).
There is also a fridge in the room which is really handy! The TV has some English channels, I can never understand people who complain that there aren't enough English channels - who goes on holiday to watch TV?
The pool area is lovely - sort of lagoon style. The only problem though is there aren't a lot of beds - I would imagine this to be a complete nightmare in high season. Most of the beds have the mattresses which are great! The pool is lovely for a dip - nice and refreshing. There is a pool bar that serves nice food (hotdogs, burgers, etc.)
The food in the hotel is lovely - plenty of choice! We never went hungry! The breakfasts were brilliant really tasty! I have no complaints whatsoever about the food!
One problem in the restaurant however is that the staff didn’t notice that there were no tables left for us to sit at and as we went to sit in another section of the restaurant we were told we couldn’t sit there! So we sat in another area and were told we couldn’t sit there either! Only after we had explained there were no other tables were we allowed to eat!
Benidorm is fabulous - so much to do!! The beach is lovely and the old town is gorgeous!
The hotel is only a few minutes’ walk from shops, cafes, and bars. A longer walk will take you into the centre and the old town is about half an hour’s walk along the beachfront which is a nice walk. I would recommend Benidorm to everyone! The Melia is a fabulous place to stay. We have stayed at the Gran Bali Hotel at the other end of Benidorm too but we much preferred the Melia!
Thanks for reading - enjoy your holiday!!

One of the best holidays we have ever had. Can not fault anything about this hotel. Both the inside and pool areas of the hotel look tropical with the palm trees and plants, and were always spotless. The staff were friendly and very helpful and polite. The rooms were cleaned every day and the bed linen and towels were changed daily as well.
The restaurant had a wide variety of foods hot and cold and the waiters and waitresses done an excellent job of clearing and resetting tables as soon as they were empty, as well as serving diners with drinks. The hotel bar was great if you wanted a peaceful night and the staff were friendly and polite, and it was a short walk to get to the shops or restaurants and bars if you wanted to see some of the shows of which there was plenty.
Will have no hesitation in recommending the Melia to family and friends and will definitely be going back ourselves. SOON
