After reading the reviews on the seabird hotel after my friend and I had already booked we were a bit worried to say the least about going, we arrived at 2am on the saturday morning and were greeted by Tony the head waiter who showed us to our room which was basic but very clean had everything that we needed, Tony was really very helpful and was always asking us if we needed anything, we were halfboard and I have to say the food and the service was excellent,I am going back to Altinkum in July for a month and I will go back to see all at the seabird hotel I won't be staying there as I have my own apartment but my friend has booked to go in August with her family

my husband and i have just spent a week in altinkum at the seabird hotel. This hotel is the worst hotel ever it was really dirty the bed linen was never changed the sheets where grey looking and the towel where changed once. WE ONLY HAD HOT WATER FOR A SHOWER FOR 2 DAYS the staff where not at all freindly and the pool was terrible the sun terrace was dirty although they did wash it once and the water came through the ceiling when we where having the only breakfast that we dare have out of the week we where there we had breakfast once the cups where stained as was the cereal bowls.I think that scott travel should pay the customer to stay there not the other way round. This holiday for us was spoilt by this dirty hotel

my wife and i (50s) my son (30s) and grandson 13 stayed at the seabird hotel in altinkum. we are no strangers to altinkum and absolutely love it. however we cannot say the same about the seabird hotel. the location was great, right on the beach. the rooms were extremely small and the toilet/shower tiny.we chose the hotel because of its location and the games room that boasted, internet, snooker and pool tables. we were dissapointed to find on our arrivalthat they did not have internet and the snooker and pool table had no pockets??? our main concern was the attitude of the staff, they made us feel like we were an inconvience to them. at one point we walked out of the restraunt after sitting for twenty five minutes waiting for someone to at least bring us a menu. we are known locally as we holidayed last year in altinkum and everyone of the local restaurantand bar staff just laughed when we told them we were staying at the seabird hotel. apparently the hotel is well known locally for its care less attitude. while we were there a number of british families ( more vocal than us) demanded to be moved to other hotels.if you stayed at this hotel on your first trip to altinkum please dont let it put you off. altinkum is brilliant. just dont go to the seabird hotel.

this must be the dirtiest unfriendliest hotel we have ever stayed in!!!! we were told that they were not even going to open it this season!!! that is how bad it is!! do not stay here!!! our room was falling to bits!! it was not cleaned the whole week we were there!! The pool is dirty and in the shade. The sun loungers well i would not let my dog sit on them!! We paid £5 a day for air con and i could of blown colder air myself and it kept breaking so we so ended up givin it back!! The fridge was a joke it was more like an oven!! the shower was disgusting and if you drop anything you have to step outside it to pick it up! We were bed and breakfast and the food was disgusting!! If you want to enjoy your hol dont stay here yes it is cheap and we have had lots of cheapholidays before but this is the faulty towers of altinkum!! Its a lovely place and there are lots of other lovely hotels.

the seabird hotel is in need of major...

Aug 2008, Mr A Ray

the seabird hotel is in need of major refurbishment and is the type of place you would go to if you were only looking for somwhere to put your head down at the end of the night. the balcony was tiny and overlooked the hotel opposite it would only fit 1 person the rooms were very small but clean and had no refrigirator (it was stated in the brochure that every room had one) ,our shower door kept falling off and you could'nt turn around in it as it was very small, our bed linen and towels were changed once the whole week we were there. the air con has a charge of £5 per day( it was stated in the brochure as £3 per day). but you do need it.
the food well i'll put it to you this way i had breakfast once that week i ate out the rest of the time there are lots of places to eat and we never had a bad meal at any of them.
apart from the hotel ( please look around as there are lots of nice ones around , if you are planning on going). the place was absolutely brilliant and all of the people we met could not do enough for you and were very friendly.
we are planning to go back in october when it is cooler as june, july aug is very hot temp was about 48 when we were there even the locals say it's too hot for them.
there is also plenty to do you will pick up brochures when you are out and about .

Well just got back from 2 weeks at the seabird hotel and what can i say? 1st day there the shower panel fell on me 24hrs hot water lol we was lucky to get 1hrs said they had a electrical fault they didnt when it came to turning the Air con off in the middle of a night when they thought you was sleeping of which they charged £5 per day go down for breakfast later than 8 oclock and you was lucky to get a boiled egg Hotel staff could not speak english so was very hard to comunicate the bloke who did reception was rude the day we left because he got no present the out of 14 nights we had 2 nights entertainment i had a steak waiter brought 5 knives to try and cut it then gave up said we have a problem in the kitchen the chef is drunk so i had to have chicken to be honest the only good thing about the seabird was the young lads that worked in the bar and 3 of them was the managers son couldnt speak english but they did smile and say hello So Spikey and crew thanks for making our holiday bearable we will look you up next year but we wont be staying there as we are sure you wont be working there and Spikey good look in the army x

Just came bak from a week at the sea...

Aug 2008, Mrs Fi Whamond

Just came bak from a week at the sea bird, the hotel is basic, but the rooms are clean and the bedding and towels changed every second day. We had a great time at the hotel bar as the waiters made our holiday, erkan, burak to name a few were so friendly and helpful, they became good friends by the end of the holiday. we used to take vodka in a water bottle into the bar and just by coke as spiritis worked out quite expensive, the waiter knew this and thought it was funny they never gave us any hassle. The air cond was expensive five pounds a day, and you really couldnt manage without it. there was a tv in the room, and i got quite into the turkish soaps lol, If they are catering to british travellers they need to put at least one english speaking channel on.
We ate at the asia minor just round the corner, friendly staff, great food, reasonalble prices, also buzz bar. If you like to go to bed early this is not the hotel for you as the karaoke bars across the road are very loud and carry on till at least 4 a.m.
also be care full of being ripped off, the turks seem to think that all brits are rich and will inflate prices, i caught out a few of them doing this and the response was you english are rich, which became really annoying, eg, a kebab was a diff price each time at the same stall ranging from 3 - 6 lira.
just be aware .

This hotel is as all the other...

Jul 2008, Miss S Cook

This hotel is as all the other reviews say, basic, small rooms, clean, extremely friendly staff and yes in need of refurbishment.....which is happening at the end of this year.
All that said, we had a fab holiday! yes the pool is small but clean and really with the lovely beach on your doorstep does that really matter! The beach is very clean and not to crowded, the sea is beautiful! There are noisy bars accross the road but join them and you'll have a great time!!! The panorama bar which is on the doorstep is a great bar, with an amazing view, especially as the sun sets. The staff are very friendly and will make you feel at home whatever your taste! You never get hassled and are just left to relax if that's what you want? Or you can be up dancing with them!
My friend and I were there on a 'Girly' holiday and couldn't have asked for more! I have to say for those people taking children, Altinkum is a great place for them, the locals are very friendly and make a great fuss of little ones....whatever there age.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday, which should be experienced by all!

The Seabird Hotel is very tatty -...

Oct 2007, Mrs L Aldred

The Seabird Hotel is very tatty - possibly the oldest in the area but the rooms were clean (apart from the fridge). The receptionists were friendly and helpful apart from one waiter.
In contrast the great friendly staff at Linekars bar helped make you feel at home without hassle.

The resort is noisy as the bars are over the road and music does go on for much of the night. But go with an open mind and an empty suitcase for all the designer bargains you will find.
Best tip - forget the Turkish baths if you want the best massage - the guy on the beach outside the Orion hotel has healing hands and will use Turkish acupuncture as well as giving you the best massage ever. Great value for money and a really genuine, kind man.
