My wife and I along with our adult son and daughter arrived close on midnight to find a very helpful but non English speaking Spaniard on the reception desk who was able to tell us in his own way that we needed to move our hire car off the blue parking area further up the street from the apartments (chargeable after say 8am) and onto an area which had white lines (park free 24hrs a day) which was just before and opposite the apartments we were grateful for this as we didn't plan to get up early the first day and could of had several parking fines.
The apartment which was on the 2nd floor on the front of the building was spotless and the balcony area and view down onto the trees below was excellent.
The kitchen and bathroom were also spotless and the beds were comfortable for self catering accommodation.
The next morning we found that the person on reception, Alistair, was a Scotsman and he was for the rest of the holiday able to assist in any questions or requests.
Salou for those who have never been before can be recommended and after walking past other self catering apartments the Imperial is definitely in the top handfull in Salou.
All in all a very enjoyable holiday in excellent accommodation. 9 out of 10

Just returned home today having spent 1 week at these apartments and would not return nor recommend these to anyone.
Overall the room was very dirty, the walls and floors were filthy throughout and the lights did not work in the bathroom (was sorted). There were used and discarded cigratte papers left within the bedroom wardrobe and what looked liked blood smeared on the balcony walls. All this resulted in us spending a considerable amount of time cleaning the place from top to bottom.
Our room was never cleaned, we had no towels on our arrival and half a toilet roll to last all week for 3 adults!. The patio table was broken, badly splintered and a danger to anyone, particularly young children. We did report this to the guy at reception, however nothing was done, although he did get us towels (which we had to wash first) and a toilet roll.
The pool area was small, looked horrible and dirty and you had to walk through overgrown bushes to get there.
The main stairway was also dirty and had the same "baby wipe" and a "toothpaste top" lying there for the entire week and was still there when we left.
Only seen maid service on 1 day whilst we were there, although they never came to our room. As a result the washing machine within the apartment was a god send, as is the large supermarket situated nearby where you can purchase all the relevant cleaning equipment at a reasonable price.
Buzzers are extremely loud and you can hear every buzzer on your floor and those directly above and below you.
Hot water would appear to be run on an immersion tank and provides very little by way of hot water.
On the plus side, the air conditioning is 1st class and the chap at the reception speaks very good english, is friendly however failed to address the main issues we asked of him (patio furniture and maid service).
The apartments themselves are spacious, well designed, reasonably modern and would be ideal for a family if they were cleaned and maintained. At present they are definitely NOT 4 star.
The apartments are reasonably well located although it is a bit of a walk away from the main bars and restaurants. However, the walk along the beach front to reach this area is fantastic.
Salou itself is a fantastic place for a holiday with plenty to do and would recommend port aventura theme park and the house of illusion show. Plenty of restaurants and pubs to choose from and excellent for shopping.
Overall had a great holiday and would definitely return to salou but not to these apartments.

Got back from the Imperial Apartments Salou on Saturday 16th August 2008,
Had early evening flight out to Salou so it was dark when we arrived at the apartments
the night porter let us in and made us feel very welcome although couldn't speak English but we got by. Asked for 150 euro deposit which we didn't know about but you get this when you leave, so it's a good way to save some money for late presents to take home.
We had ground floor apartment which was great, had our own little garden & terrace where we spent a lot of time just sitting relaxing & sunbathing in the afternoons and evenings.
You can hire a kettle and toaster at the aparments as they are not included, although sometimes handy to bring your own to save money. The upside to this is that the apartments came with a fully functional washing machine which was a bonus.
Beds were quite comfy although not many pillows and some of the sheets did not fit the bed properly. The air con in the apartment was lovely as it kept the apartment cool for when we got back from a long day in the sun.
Pool was great not too many people as there are only about 24 apartments in all, Our 5 year old daughter loved it. The two 15 year old girls had a good time as well swimming & sun bathing.
If you want a good full English try Buddies a bar and restuarant only a 5 minute walk away, if you want a good pint try the Sahara just around the corner from the apartments this is popular for locals & travel reps.
Salou beach front is very busy but the kids loved it. The fountains on the prom are great at night as they are lit up and they even have one you can walk through.
The Ice cream factory on the sea front was a must as we visited nearly every night for our late night ice cream.
The water park in La Pineda was brilliant but make sure you put plenty of cream on! Port Adventura was great for the kids, we had a very long day as we went in the morning and stayed until the firework display at 12p.m. Only downside was that it took us a long time to get home from there as there were not many taxis & buses took ages to get going.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and would recomend to all ages as its a great family resort as well as a great couple get away (night clubs for the young ones).
I rate this holiday 9 out 10

The Apartments were really nice and very spacious. There was a twin bedroom and a double bedroom. Both has mirrored sliding wardrobes, which was handy and there was a door to the balcony from the double bedroom. Both bedrooms were nice and cool at night. There was 6 adults altogether, and two of us slept in the living area, there was a camp bed and a sofa, they were comfortable enough to sleep in. There was a seperate wee kitchen area and this had everyhin ud need apart from a kettle and toaster but you can rent these from reception if you want. And the balcony is massive which is great for sittin out on and havin a drink or whatever. The bathroom is lovely and had a good shower and a bath. The air con is included at no extra cost, it is good once its been on a while.
The pool area is a bit small but the beach is lovely and only about 10 mins walk so I didnt really use the pool. There is no bar or restaurant in the apartments but there are vending machines at the pool area which are available until 8pm for drinks and snacks.
The only bad thing about the apartments is that because its more a residential area, its hard to find somewhere close to eat, with normal food and ppl who can speak english. The main part of the town is a brave walk away too, it takes up to 20 mins to get to the bars we were going to (e.g. Christy McGraths, Murphys, Guiness Tavern etc) But only about 10 mins to thw lower part of the town.
Also if your looking for a shop or supermarket, they all moslty close between 2 and 6 pm and dont stay open while late.
Overall the Apartments are lovely, prob the nicest ive ever stayed in, I would stay there again, but If I wasnt it would only be because of the location. Also most reviews mention this but just remember you have to pay a deposit on arrival of €150 which u will get back.
I forgot to say, we werent gettin the bus back to the Airport until 5pm and the normal check out time is 10 or 10.30. We asked the man at reception if we could keep the room on, luckily it wasnt booked up so we were able to keep it on until 5pm for only €20, this was great as we would have been left hanging around with our suitcases otherwise.

Found the apartments to be clean and spacious maid service was very poor washed my own towels and sheets they did manage to change the bed once but not the towels. the pool area needs to be cleaned up a bit, looked a bit shabby and was on the small side. the pool is small but we found that it was not always busy by the pool area sometimes the kids had it to them selves. the apartments are in a nice quite area got lots of sleep balcony area very big had fun sitting and watching the parking never seen anything like it if you hire a car be carefull and make sure you leave the handbrake off. Did not realy like salou found the tourist end very busy and brits pushing bits of paper at you telling you how you could get sausage & mash and watch the soaps or big brother allnight. in spain on holiday do not need this. portaventura was good but we went at night not as hot and a little less busy. we went to the aquapolis the kids enjoyed but be aware very expensive once you are in and had to wait a long time for some of the slides. lots of places to eat out recomend the ribs at EL TORO excellant. beach not far away cleanish and the light show at the spanish end of the beach at night was well worth seeing. if i was to go back i would stay in these appartments again.

Mixed feelings about these apartments:
The good points:
1. The apartment block looks quite new (no more than several years old) and has a clean modern reception area.
2. The block is situated in a relatively quite street that still allows walking access to the centre of Salou within 15 minutes. There are no bars within hearing distance!
3. The rooms are modern with a fridge/freezer, TV (only BBC World available in English), washing machine and air conditioning that actually works (albeit to an adequate though not brilliant standard).
4. The balcony stretches the length of the appartment (about 25 feet) and is safe. Good for storing lilos, etc.
5. It was possible to get a good night's sleep most nights (ie. very little outside noise from drunks)
6. Alistair, on reception, is a Scotsman (fae Dumfries), and is very helpful. We had some minor problems on arrival and he fixed them within a few hours.
The not-so-good points:
1. The swiming pool is very small (15 feet by 10 feet approx). It could only take about half a dozen people at a time. Also it wasn't the cleanest. It was never so bad as you couldn't swim in it, but there were always hairs, little bits of things in it. If swimming pool is very important to you, I'd go elsewhere.
2. Maid service - there's hardly one! We stayed a forthight and had our sheets and towels changed once (at end of first week). And that was all that was done. Our bin was not emptied, our floor was not swept. We couldn't sweep it ourselves as we had no brush. So whilst the room was clean on arrival, it's pretty much up to you to keep clean thereafter. The washing machine was vital to keep the towels clean.
3. The 2 beds in the living room consisted of the settee itself and a folding campbed. Adequate and no more. OK for kids but I wouldn't want to be an adult sleeping there.
4. There is a dog lives on the 1st floor balcony across the road and it occassionally barks up to midnight. Can be a little annoying, although fortunately it stopped thereafter.
5. There is a smoke alarm in one of the bedrooms with 2 flashing red lights. They may be small lights but it can be like having a police car in you bedroom the first night.
6. The usual noisy items that you find in Spanish apartments - marble floor, noisy door buzzers, noisy people on stairs if they choose to be.
So would I go back - yes, overall the newness of the block and room facilities compensates for the lack of maid service. And the quiet surrondings generally ensure a good night's sleep.
As for Salou itself :
- the kids loved the beach. It is good sand and no rocks in the sea. The sea can have some exciting waves coming in if the tides are right, and the kids loved jumping over them, riding their lilos, etc. This was the best free entertainment of the holiday.
- Robin Hood's bar is good for families with karaoke most nights and some games at back of pub. Waiters are very approachable and helpful.
-Portaventura park is brilliant for all ages. Best to book your pass in advance on the internet. We found the 14 day pass gave the best value. Make sure you do the new ride - the Furios Baco. It is unforgettable. So fast. I'm a coward but I loved it.
Try El Bensise on central seafront for an expensive ice-cream or dessert. Delicious!
Try a Segway (see Segway.com) personal transporter at the beach front. 20 euros for 40 minutes. It was a unique and unforgettable experience.
- the only downside to our holiday was the odd treatment we received at the hands of some local waiters. Sometimes we were blatantly ignored, other times they appeared to be mocking us in their native tongue. One time when we asked for butter on toast we ordered, one waiter turned up the corner of the toast with his fingers, claimed there was butter on it (though it was bone dry) and sneered. And we didn't get any either! But most were helpful. Just be prepared for a few irritating you.
Happy holidays!

Cannot fault these apartments. Perfect for a self catering holiday and an excellent base for beach and parks. The apartments were clean and spacious and the washing machine was a much used added bonus. As there were two parties we requested flats next too each other on the top floor, which we got. So plenty of room for the kids up on the terrace. Spacious balconies to relax in the evening when the youngest were in bed.
Point deducted as we didn't get a towel change, (but as we had the machine, not too much of a hassle). Also the pool isn't the biggest and the kids said it was dirty on the bottom. Also the deposit of 150€ is a bit much. But it was returned 2 days before we left.
But would definately go back.

Just got back yesterday from Salou. The apartments are lovely! Ours was very clean, spacious and top class. Very big balcony, full kitchen with good sized fridge freezer (please note there are 4 hobs but NO OVEN). We had a bedroom with double bed and wardrobe, a bedroom with two single beds and huge mirrored wardrobe (No hangers though)including a small balcony where the washing mashing could be found in a little room, a very spacious bathroom with bidet, toilet, bath with shower. The living room has a large pine table with 6 chairs, a sofa bed and pine unit with small tv. The apartments are approx 10 mins flat walk to the beach. The parking at the apartments is rented out privately locally which was a little irritating but we alwats managed to find a free parking space outside (parking with blue lines is pay per hour but parking with white lines is free). Had a great time!

The Apartments were great. The only downfall was how dirty the walls were! The balcony was very spacious and because we were on top floor we had our own big, roof terrace. It was great! The kids loved it!
The pool area was great but the pool wasn’t very good because it wasn’t heated but I think it was because of the time of year.
Our rep when we went to the Sunday market was great and she said that we had a really good week in October as most Octobers aren’t nice weather! Alistair was great. He worked at the reception and he was English so that was a big relief! Faye our holiday rep. was great, she was very organised and knew what she was doing.
I highly recommend the Barcelona trip it was really good and definitely worth the money!
I also highly recommend the apartment it was very good and good luck to get the top floor!

I spent a week here last year and found it ideally located, close enough to shops, the beach and lots of good pubs and clubs.
The staff were very helpful and spoke good english. Tour reps were accessible and full of advice and tips which was handy. The apartments were very spacious and clean. Kitchen was nice, although did not have an oven so everything had to be cooked on the hob or microwave. Well worth the money that we paid for it.

We stayed here for 2 weeks at the beginning of August. I found the apartments very spacious and the local area very pleasant with good shops, bakeries and cafes within easy reach. The porter was Scottish and very helpful and friendly. The kitchen and washing machine were great.
But overall the apartment was very "worn out". The walls and floors were very dirty. I had to wash the floors throughout and I needed to bleach the bathroom from top to bottom for a few days to get rid of the smell of urine.
Also the apartments all have a very loud buzzer to get access and these can be heard going off throughout the building day and night.
The pool was also very dirty at times and I didn't see anyone clean the pool side area for the 2 weeks that we stayed. Having to rent the kettle and toaster isn't good.
It is not 400m to the beach as most brochures say, it is a good 15 - 20 minute walk to the beach and it is a long way from the most poplar tourist centre in the new town.
The transfer coach can't fit up the road to the apartments so you get left at a round about at the end of the street and are expected to get all your luggage to the place by yourself. We had 4 large cases, 4 hand luggage and 2 buggies with toddlers in them so this wasn't an easy task. This also had to be repeated for pick up.
Most annoying is being kicked out of your apartment at 10am when there are no on site facilities except a luggage room - not even a shower to use. Our return flights weren’t until 10pm and it was an overcast day!!
If you get it for a discounted deal price it is a fine place to stay. But if you are paying full brochure prices I wouldn't recommend it at all - it is not a 4 star location as the brochures state and there are much better 4 star places closer to everything.

When we first arrived we were greeted by alistair and he was very helpful. When we got to the room it was very spacious and clean. We had everything we needed except the kettle and toaster.
The apartments are located in a nice area with just enough distance to the main part of the resort.
Would highly recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a nice relaxing holiday.

Stayed two weeks group of six, plenty room for us in two bedroom apartment. 73, 42, 39, 32, 12, & 8 ages.
First class holiday. Did not want to come home. Apartment first class, staff great. Air con great, massive balcony. In the older part of Salou bit quieter.
Short walk to all the British Bars etc. Up a narrow tree lined road so the bus can't get up, only 2 min walk with your suitcase.
Highly Recommended.
