Where I found my heaven
Our stay at Arahmas was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in for a special treat. The lobby with the most gorgeous panoramic view of the ocean was simply breath-taking. The welcome staff were all smiley and gracious, the public areas alone made a great first impression of the place. What's even better was our room. I have to say that this may be the plushest looking standard room I have seen in any hotel I have ever stayed in. The dark wood and rich looking fabrics in this room put many suites in other hotels to shame. I like the fact that this place felt very private, and for a place with a hundred something rooms, they have done a fantastic job at making sure that the resort feels spacious, yet romantic and private at all times. We LOVED the spa here. If you are staying at Arahmas, the spa is a must! Every part of this place just exudes class and the spa is the best example of it. The spa staff were also very well trained and friendly. Even the most unfamiliar person with spa treatments will not feel awkward at all. I was able to forget all my worries and came out of the spa feeling great. All in all, we highly recommend Arahmas. No more stays at Sheraton Phuket or JW Marriott, this is so much more intimate and personal.
Romantic Escape... A perfect place to be!
Oh we have a magnificent time staying there. We visited there on the last week of September 06. We were impressed by a very active and friendly staffs. We were greeted at the airport by a hotel staff who dress in a half thai traditional costume and then lead us to the hotel transportation, a very comfortable spacious air con van. The hotel is not far from the airport at all. We could reach there in just a blink... haha I mean 10-15 minutes. The welcome drink were served and the checkin system is pretty fast.. and our room was surperb. Just a foot step.. truely one foot step we can reach to the pool. Our room was the pool access one and i love this more than the pool villa. I believe it is more spacious but well less private. But who cares, when it is low season. The entire pool of the hotel belongs to you! There were not more than 20 guests in the hotel during the period we were there.. but their service still remained superb. Mmmm.. maybe the breaskfast during the high low season are not as variety as it should be.. however, my honey enjoyed their omlet.. and I enjoy another friend thai noodle/ japanese fried noodle style, fried rice, some soup, very yummy bacon, sausage, yogurt, 5 different fresh fruit juice to choose. The room is lovely.. the pictures on the website and the reality are alike! We had a little cutie elephant standing on the bed .. waitting for us.. the nail and the eyes of this elephant are actually the petals of orchid. We also had the welcome fruit (not basket.. already pealed and craving). The bath tub is so lovely.. but we didn't have a chance to use it at all.. since most of the time we prefer to dip ourselves in the pool. (one step.. remember?) we did a bit of travelling around but we love it here... we never felt like we own the pool. We used to stay at the JW Phuket, it was a great place and we were not regreat.. somehow this one give you more of the home feeling. But one fact is that.. the beach here can't be compared to the JW one. Therefore, if you are looking for the somewhat not home yet classy type.. I would reccommend the JW. but if you are looking for something sweet, romantic, family like and mind to the beach.. then Arahmas would be the most wonderful choice !!!!!! Tip: You got to rely your every meals with this resort,.. no way out lol except renting a car and drive to more crowdy area.
Splendiferous serenity!
I recently spent 5 nights at Arahmas with my 19 year old daughter and we loved every minute of it! It was our first trip to Thailand and we stayed at four different luxury hotels during our two-week trip. Arahmas was my favorite environment for relaxation and pampering. The remoteness of the hotel was exactly what we were looking for after the hustle and bustle of Bangkok - a place far away from the crowds and noise to unwind. The buildings and grounds are stunningly beautiful and we found the service to be very friendly, attentive and personal. The elegant rooms are decorated with an incredible attention to design and detail - from the vanity kit in the bathroom to the wonderful dressing room/closets. I was delighted to find a closet that had more organizing space than I actually needed! And, oh, the SPA! I highly recommend booking some spa treatments. I guarantee you will not be disappointed! My daughter and I went twice during our stay. Not only is the spa beautiful and meticulously clean, the treatments are divine. (I loved the massage tables with the "floating flower view" from the head rest!) My favorite treatments were the chocolate scrub and banana wrap. Splendiferous massage! If you are looking for a serene and private getaway, personal and attentive service, then I recommend a stay at this classy gem of a hotel. Bring a book, be prepared to be pampered and relax, relax, RELAX....
Classy resort worth checking out during high season
My fiancee booked a 2-night getaway from Singapore to Phuket as a treat for my birthday. Initially, we had wanted to look at other hotels in the Patong area, given the proximity to where the real activity was. But we settled on the Arahmas after reading the reviews here. Upon reaching Phuket Airport early in the day (14 July), we waited a long while for the airport transfer from the hotel to come- it never did. A kind hotel transfer driver from a Patong-area hotel took pity on two tired travellers stuck in the rainy weather and helped us get a 400-baht "limousine" service to our hotel (limousine = a clean Toyota Corolla). We were super grateful that we tipped the driver 100baht for just a 10-minute drive. The drive to the hotel was a trip itself- the hotel is situated far into the deep village, about 3km from the main road. The narrow winding road meant you couldn't just "pop out around the corner" to grab any snacks or the like from the convenience store although no one's really stopping you from doing so (although the rain might pelt you down first.) Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink and check-in was fuss-free. Our hotel room was absolutely gorgeous with a huge bathroom and the pool right at our doorstep. Because it was raining so heavily on our first day there, we couldn't do anything but visit the hotel's spa. The prices are about 4 times what you'd pay at Patong Beach but I can assure you- the service and feel to it is also about 4 times better. Clean, quiet masseuses with an absolutely professional demeanour. I had the Eurasian massage (Thai + Swedish) while my fiancee had a lighter massage (60 minutes each) and we were given delicious ginger tea as parting shots. The quality of food is excellent in the hotel but because of its remote location, don't stay in this hotel unless you can envision yourself eating there 2 out of 3 meals a day. There are no other restaurants in the area (and forget about the concierge telling you that restaurants are accessible via a 10-minute walk along Nai Yang Beach which is just in front of the hotel- the dirty beach littered with glass shards and wood planks means you don't want to walk past deep puddles unless you're wearing flippers or Caterpillar boots.) Because it's low season, the hotel was so deserted but luckily, the DVDs, newspapers, travel magazines and books (they even have chick lit there!) in its well-stocked library helped us fill the long vacation hours. Staff are generally really helpful and eager to serve you. We encountered nothing but pure Thai smiles and excellent service during our 3 day 2 night stay. They helped us arrange for a shuttle ride to Patong Beach and back and it was all very fuss-free. I do think the hotel will be more enjoyable during high season. The location of the hotel is already so far-out so it would have been nice to have more holidaymakers around. Of course, we got these fantastic rates only because it's low season so we really shouldn't be complaining. Warning: the winding road leading to the hotel is not lit and it gets dark fast before 7pm. If you're coming in from Patong, be prepared to guide the driver or at least make sure you have arranged secure transfer from Patong back to the hotel. I'd recommend it for honeymooners, but not the adventurous or those who want to be in on the action.
Disappointing
We have lived in Thailand for 11 years now and have visited many hotels and resorts in the country. We had not heard of the Arahmas Resort until we purchased 2 nights it in a charity auction and after checking on the reviews in TripAdvisor we were looking forward to the visit. Unfortunately we ended up being a little disappointed. The transport picking us up from the airport was 40 minutes late and although not a big problem should not happen when the resort is only 10 minutes drive away. The resort does not have it’s own transport and seems to rely on a very inefficient taxi service from Phuket Town and we noticed two other instances during our stay where this happened. This is more of an issue than usual because the resort is very isolated down a 5km dead end road with no casual taxi services passing by. The resort itself is nicely designed on three levels and centered around a huge pool. We upgraded to one of the rooms with a direct pool access which was a very nice feature. The room itself was beautiful as expected but in size and décor was nothing unique compared to other similar priced Phuket resorts. One big plus is the staff who were very friendly. There is no beach to speak of, only a patch of muddy sand and grass and although you can walk 10 minutes along the beach to Nai Yang this does require wading through a lot of standing water. Something we weren’t expecting was a very large half finished hotel on the adjacent hill side that is an eye sore from anywhere in the resort. The biggest problem we found was the lack of facilities, particularly given it’s isolation. It may have been a result of when we visited (the monsoon season and only 22 rooms were occupied) but only one of the five eating places was open and the menu there was very limited (although the quality was good). None of the computers in the business centre were working, there was no real recreational activities (watersport etc) and the exercise room was very limited. Although we generally like peace and quite the lack of people combined with the poor facilities meant that there was absolutely no atmosphere and nothing to keep ourselves occupied. We had taken a week’s leave over this period and before visiting the resort we were contemplating extending our stay at the Arahmas for the whole week but after the two days we checked out and moved to a different resort. Although the resort is pretty, there are many similar quality resorts on the island that provide more for the same price and I would only recommend you consider this resort if you had your own transport and intended to travel around the island rather than spend your whole time at one place. Note again that it was the monsoon season when we visited and I would hope that some more facilities would be available during the high season (it would be worth checking in advance).
Lovely place in serene and blissful setting
We were very pleased when we arrived at Arahmas Resort on Nai Yang beach as it was exactly what we were hoping for: a beautiful resort where we can relax and just be pampered to the max. The staff who greeted us and showed us around were all very friendly and warm. Our room was fabulous, it was the standard room but looked very rich, we couldn't help but wonder how great the more upper-tier rooms would be. The room featured very exquisite looking dark wood and the bathroom was simply breath-taking. They give us more in the vanity kit than any place we've stayed in (including cotton pads - very important if you use Toner!). The ground floor rooms lets you go right into the pool from the room - how unique! The food was very nice here and we absolutely loved the Spa! The treatments we had made us feel so good, this place is not only absolutely gorgeous but gave us such a fantastic experience that no hotel in tacky Patong/Karon/Kata area could ever give. Real class in true bliss!
Excellent Value/ Beautiful Haven
We stayed in the Pool Villa available at the hotel, and it represented excellent value for the quality that was available. Excellent staff, smiling, and always accomodating....this is what we came to Thailand for. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a quiet vacation, relaxing by the beach, long walks , and excellent food. Well furnished room and villas, frankly could not ask for more.
Oasis In Pearl Village
The hotel is situated pretty near the airport. It came as a surprise to me when I finally arrived at the hotel. She was cleverly hidden within the island's rural village houses, indeed an "Oasis". The room has a breathtaking view from the balcony and her serene tranquility is just perfect for a good book. I would return to the hotel again for a quiet getaway.
Beautiful resort, great service!
Initially, we were concerned that the resort is quite far from all the action, but it turns out this was the perfect getaway place, away from the noise, crowded streets and the trashy scene that is apparent in the touristy parts of Phuket. The resort is very beautiful, we really enjoyed being able to jump into the pool right from our balcony! Our room was really nice too, it definitely has a lot of unique touches to it. When we were there, it was still pretty quiet but the staff were all very nice and gracious. Overall, a great new addition to the island, I'd definitely come back!
Isolated hotel with high end touches
This hotel is located by Nai Yang Beach-near the airport. It is quite isolated-away from everything. When we visited the hotel was on a soft opening and was finishing the resort. When we were there the gym and spa were not finished yet. The hotel has around 100+ rooms-comprised of two large blocks. I am not a fan of large hotels, but the rooms were so nice here and plush. So much detail and care went into the rooms. The bathrooms are stunning! The floors are detailed with silver leaf tiles-also the bathtub and shower are covered with glass mosiac beads. The room comes with a dvd player. The rest of the hotel grounds are quite nice. The restaurant serves good Thai and western food. Prices are high, but service is good. Menu is quite limited. I am sure once the hotel has it's normal opening and things are up and running - there will be more choices. There is a swimming pool facing the ocean. The only problems with the resort is that even though it's on the beach-the ocean is quite far out. I hope they can develop the beach. Where the resort ends is a patch of grass and muddy sand. You can walk further out to the ocean, but it's not that great. Also, we saw no elevators or lifts at the resort. Lots of steps. Will not be good for people with disabilities or weak knees, unless you get a bottom floor room. Around each hotel room block-there are little ponds scattered nearby. There are a lot of frogs and they converse loudly with each other. It's nice to be in nature again. Hotel is a 40 minute drive to Patong Beach.
