Loved the rooftop view.
from plaka
My husband and I stayed at the Jason Inn Hotel for 4 nights and found that aunts were coming out of the bathroom. Shower is super small (very narrow). We had twin beds which means two single beds in their own woodenframe put next to each other, not cool for couples. If you want a queen bed or double bed, better ask for the "matrimonial room" which is at a higher rate. We would not consider this hotel as a 3 Star Hotel as rooms need to be renovated and corridor too. When having your breakfast, their scrumble eggs looked really yellowish... and cereals were surrounded by pigeons fighting for their own share :-) The positive things are the rooftop view of the Acropolis, the personnel was helpful (but not necessary polite), location is alright as it is not far away from Plaka. You either know the small street to get to Plaka or take the major street which is very dirty and stinky. I would not walk on that street late by night. If we had to go back to Athens, we would try another hotel and ask for the matrimonial room. We would not assume that "Twin beds" means like in Canada one single bed :-)
The rooftop is where it's at...

The best ammenity of the Jason Inn is the rooftop restaurant & bar with the awesome views of Acropolis. The rest of the hotel is average. The Inn seems to have put their profits in the right place...which is on the roof. We had started & ended our day on the roof....their complimentary breakfast in the morning and with a cold beer at night. The views of the acropolis gave a lasting impression. Our first room was musty, but they were accomodating when we asked to change rooms. Rooms are not much to write home about. Conveniently close to Ancient Agora. Overall a decent hotel for the price, especially with the rooftop view.

I recommend anyone to go to Athens, just get a cheap flight arrange accommodation in a hostel or b&b for a cheap price, then once you are there you can go to the port and do some island hopping. The ferries from the port are very cheap (about £10-20 return) to any Greek... more
