Booked six days before we arrived. We had a fantastic time, the hotel was basic but very clean and anna and her staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpful. I had my 14 yr old daughter and my 78 yr old mother with me and enjoyed every minute. We are hoping to return in 2008.

Just arrived back home from Le Perla after 2 fantastic weeks. The hotel was fantastic! All our needs were exceeded, the staff are so friendly and helpful, anything we required we received, we had no problem with noise fom any bars as most were quiet from 12/1am .

We found the pool lovely and relaxing and not too busy, fantastic for families with young children just starting to swim. The bar and restaurant was open until the early hours but kept quiet.

The room was spacious, cleaned regularly and had 2 verandas which was great as we had 4 sharing the room. The kitchen facilities were great, everything required was there. The bathroom was large with a big window that could be open wide or shuttered if in the shower etc.

We really can't say anything bad about this hotel as we had a great time and were made to feel very welcome.

Thank you so much for everything and we will see you next year.

A party of 8 of booked this holiday 6 weeks before departure, and I must admit the moment I paid my money and read any reviews, I knew it was too late and we had made a wrong choice!

I am writing this review at the accommodation we are staying at. My problems are this holiday does not meet what it says on the tin for the following reasons:

There are no snacks for the children all day - only between 3.30 - 4.30 from the restaurant

The bar does close at 11.00pm and not 12midnight as advised. You have to pay for drinks from 11pm - this is not all inclusive to me The entertainment for children is poor - not a good venue for families with children.

Check reviews before you travel. This was a great holiday, the resort has two lovely beaches and is absolutely great for public transport - we got round practically the whole Island by bus visiting the different towns and doing lots of shopping, going to lots of different attractions etc - it meant that there was so much more available then just laying by the beach - which is also nice! You should try and get the bus into Santa Eulalia for the shopping and visit San Antonio for the aquarium that is in a cave - is really nice! The boat trips Thomson offer are great - you absolutely MUST, MUST do the boat trip which goes to Fortmentura a small Island near Ibiza, you get dropped off there for around three hours - the beach is the most amazing beach I’ve ever seen - it's like paradise - and there's no one there - its absolutely beautiful.

La Perla is a really nice place to stay, the staff are great and the rooms are really well equipped - it has a proper front room with dining table and separate bedroom bathroom - proper self catering facilities. The pool isn't very nice and is often in shade but with the beaches being as lovely as they are it doesn't really matter.

You can't go without visiting at least one of the big clubs, Amnesia was great, had a really relaxed feel, everyone was just having a laugh, no aggression or fighting or anything like that and the music was amazing - drinks very, very, very expensive though!

A really great holiday, would definitely recommend it!

Well, not being an accomplished traveler, this was only my second time going out of the UK and my first visit to Ibiza and having booked only 1 week before traveling, we were a bit dubious.

Upon arrival at La Perla we were not expecting the apartments to be so fresh and clean. Brian made us all feel very welcome and as it was 4 O'clock in the morning, check in was very quick and the service was excellent. Anna on reception is also lovely and friendly and so helpful. After waking up to the sun shining in our room the next morning, we went down to breakfast, which consisted of Toast, cereals, croissant and the famous Lemon fairy cake!

La Perla rooms are very basic with no Air con or fans but they were so clean and fresh and I'm sure the maid came in at least 4 out of 7 days.

The Pool is small but clean with a sun terrace which we made the most of as it was never very busy, even though it was the middle of the peak season. La Perla is less than 2 minutes walk from the beautiful beach at Es Cana and the shops and restaurants of the resort.

There is a big choice of food options available in the resort from traditional Spanish dishes to your lovely big English Fry up (would recommend Julie's bar round the back of La Perla, her breakfasts were spot on!)

There is a lot to do in Es Cana, we went on the mini train to Santa Eulalia and on the tour of beaches which were both very interesting and beautiful to see. We also went on the Glass bottomed boat, although I did not really get to see any of the shipwreck due to feeling too sick to look down!

The beach is lovely and clean although you may find it hard to get a space as it gets very busy. On a couple of occasions we went to the Zodiac public pool which you pay a small fee for a sun bed, but they have their own private part of the beach.

We would also recommend the hippy market on Wednesdays where if you like a bargain, you are sure to find one, especially designer watches, handbags and sunglasses.

There is a big choice of bars in Es Cana although unlike other parts of Ibiza, there are no nightclubs but the drinks are very cheap (cheapest pint we found was 1.10 Euros!) and most places are very friendly. Moes Tavern, the Simpsons themed bar was great but the best by far was the Apache which is opposite La Perla. They have a bucking Bronco which proved to be quite a laugh most nights! Hi too all who work there, you are all fab!

Overall Ed Cana is a great place to holiday, whether you are a family, young or older couple or a group of friends. There is always something to do and I can’t wait to go back one day!

This was our second visit to La Perla and we will be going again in September. Although the apartments are basic they are spotlessly clean and just across the road from the beach which is ideal for us with two boys.

There is a small swimming pool and sun terrace which always seemed to be empty as most people went to the beach with it being so close.

A lot of Spanish people ate in the restaurant downstairs which is always a good sign but there are plenty of bars / restaurants close by.

If you are not bothered about it being 3* or 4* and just want a smashing little place to stay then I can recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at La Perla. It is a lovely family run hotel and nothing was too much bother for Hannah, she was lovely.

I am taking my mother back in June as she is 80 this year and she enjoyed it so much we are returning. What a lovely clean place, the staff in the La Perla bar were very friendly we used to end our night in the bar before returning to bed around midnight.

And also I must mention the evening porter he was very good and did his job 100% looking forward to June.

La Perla Hostel, Es Cana, Ibiza

We booked this as a cheap holiday, last minute because of the disappointing English summer. After booking, we read reviews on the hotel and people generally seemed happy with their holiday to La Perla. We prepared ourselves for a basic hotel but it was a bit glamorous than we had expected…

On arrival, Brian made checking in very smooth. We were given a twin room as no double rooms were available but that was easily sorted after pushing beds together…. again and again.

We were fortunate to have got a bed and breakfast deal, thinking that this would save us some money on eating out. Breakfast consisted of a couple of slices of toast, a bread croissant, tea/coffee, glass of orange juice and a lemon fairy cake! However, the only real reason we missed breakfast most days was that we liked to have a little lie in. The lemon cake and croissant were delicious though!

Fortunately the hotel was a friendly family run hotel, with an immensely trusting atmosphere, this was even reflected in the room service and the consistently deserted reception. The rooms were swept 4 out of the 6 days, and on each occasion the double balcony doors were considerately left open in order to ‘air’ the room! The bed sheets were never changed which was fine because the nights weren’t at all sweaty with no air conditioning or a fan.

Our room had a real party atmosphere and was right above ‘granny’s fun pub’ that opened every night from 9pm until 4am. We were woken up most nights to yet another rendition of ‘I did it my way’ if not some local chap doing laps of ‘scana’ (local pronunciation) on his moped as a form of mating ritual to the on-looking English girls who had no doubt consumed one to many WKD’s. This just added to the clubbing tone expected of such a wild destination as Ibiza.

The hostel swimming pool is idyllic; it is perfect to cool down after a little journey back from the beach, and to get the sand off before taking a shower in your own room.

The resort itself is very well suited to the English who are really made to feel at home with infinite burger restaurants and happy hours with great deals on pints of lager. You can even have a go on the fair ground or the bucking bronco at the appropriately themed Apache bar, which has a fantastic DJ, a real entertainer. The shops have everything you could possibly want from particularly tasteful postcards to half drunk cans of pop.

There is a fantastic bus service which always runs on time, and if you are early for the service you can always have a quick drink in the Apache, taking advantage of one of there great happy hour deals. If you are a tourist you can travel to St Eularia for twice the price as a local, but it’s worth the Euro. Here there is a more cosmopolitan beach with less tampon applicators on the shore. The views are better but there is less body art to entertain you and one may assume less burgers are consumed.

In the evenings there is a lovely bar/restaurant on the promenade where people spotting is a popular past time, as is making friends with other holiday makers, who are generally so friendly and happy to exchange stories of past holidays and eating out experiences in the resort, very handy!

Car hire is readily available in Scana, and when you get lucky you will find somewhere where the car does get returned in time for you to collect. If travelling around the island, you will be fine with the extensive maps provided, clearly indicating all the main roads and Playa’s. Just be careful when approaching steep hills as some of the vehicles do not have enough umph to get back up again.

For those English holiday makers that are feeling a little homesick, there are fortunately a McDonalds and a Burger King only a bus ride away in Ibiza Town.

Overall a great holiday, sun sea and lots of sex! What more could you ask for? let the good times roll, visit La Perla, Es Cana.

Initially my partner and I were not very impressed with La Perla as on our first night we got no sleep due to a very noisy room on the first floor. In the morning we spoke to the receptionist Anna who was lovely and moved us to a top floor room with no trouble.

The accommodation at the La Perla is very basic but for the price, you pay, you could not really expect more. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The only downfall was the breakfasts, which were incredible strange. Described as Continental breakfast it was actually a Lemon sponge cake and a slice of toast!!

Having have said that I would visit these apartments again.

I booked this as a cheap holiday through lastminute.com. After booking, I read reviews on the hotel. I prepared myself for a basic hotel but it was a bit more disappointing than I expected.

We were given a twin room as no double rooms were available. Easily sorted after pushing beds together.. again and again, as the cleaners kept pulling them apart every day! There was no air conditioning or fan. Bathroom had no ventilation whatsoever.

Breakfast consisted of a couple of slices of toast, a croissant, tea/coffee, glass of orange juice and a fairy cake!

Could have done with a fridge or something in the room to at least keep a cool drink handy.

Our room was right above ‘granny’s fun pub’ that opened every night from 9pm until late. We were woken up most nights at kicking out time as the British reps / tourists had a row in the street under the balcony!

Didn’t really bother with hotel swimming pool, as it didn’t look all that exciting and the beach was luckily stones throw away. On a plus side, it was a friendly family run hotel with room service most days.

The resort of Es Cana itself was lovely. Nice long beach, plenty of food / bars about. Many excursions available to explore the island.

Overall a great holiday, let down by the accommodation. Would definitely prefer to go self catering next time. Never again B&B abroad.
