Just a brilliant stay from Allen-Rouse
Hotel Villa Angela is a brilliant hotel. From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous. The location is fantastic with views of Mt Etna and the bay of Taromina. The room we stayed in was spacious, nicely furnished with a large balcony and again great views. The hotel swimming pool was perfect and a good sun trap but had shade if you needed it. The continental breakfasts served on the terrace again were of a very high standard with a huge choice and a lot of healthy options. Taromina is a delightful town... more

Have spent a fantastic week at the wonderful Villa Angela. The hotel has been recently refurbished to the highest standrds. The room decor is bright and airy, the balcony is enormous with breathtaking views of Mount Etna and Giardini Naxos. Hotel extremely clean and well maintained. Courtesy bus takes you to and from the centre of Taormina, saving you from all those steps!! We stayed at Hotel Villa Angela for 5 nights in June - and weren't disappointed. If you're looking for a small boutique hotel, away from the crowds then would highly recommend this. Location The hotel is located about 5-10 minutes drive from the centre of Taormina - up a very steep hill. It overlooks Taormina, the bay and Mount Etna - the views are simply stunning. We read in the paper how Jim Kerr had created his dream "Villa Angela" overlooking Mount Etna and Taormina and we decided that it had to go on our "must do" list. We finally made it in May to celebrate a "special" birthday and were not disappointed. It lived up to all our expectations and beyond. The hotel is located a few km out of the town centre but a minibus is provided to get you down and back up. You can walk down into Taormina in about 20 minutes but the walk back up is hard work! My wife and I had a wonderful 10 days in the Hotel Villa Angela at the beginning of May and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The views are stunning, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable without being fussy and the standard of service throughout is exceptional. All of the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. A good example was the breakfast laid on by the barman at 5:45 am, when we had to leave for early trips on two occasions. I have just spent a week at the Villa Angela and could have stayed forever. The staff are wonderful. Relaxed,friendly and very helpful. The room very comfortable, with a balcony that has the view of Etna that you can see anywhere in the hotel. Breakfast on the terrace with that view is perfect. All the food we had there was enjoyable and well presented. The courtesy bus down to the town was much appreciated. Only disappointment was that Etna didn`t erupt - hardly the fault of the management!
Fantastic hotel from mnarmour
My stay at Villa Angela was amazing, and when I return to Taormina, I will stay there again. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean, and the service was excellent. Most of all, I loved the views, and being slightly above the town, so that it was a peaceful and relaxing experience. (A walk into town only takes 10 minutes, although the hotel will drive you there and back for free.) I also enjoyed the onsite restaurant, which had great food. Our visit in October lived up to our expectations. booking directly with the hotel over the internet was easy and all enquiries were handled promptly. The Villa Angela is located high above Taormina and faces out over the bay and Mount Etna in the distance (which was erupting during our stay - very cool!) The spectacular views obviously means that its a hike from the town which you can take via a short cut series of steps (don't take the winding road it takes forever) or via the steps near the church of the rock. After browsing the trip advisor site looking for a place to stay in vancouver i noticed the reviews for villa angela in taormina and felt compelled to add my thoughts. we stayed there in july of this year and can honestly say that it was the most relaxing break i have ever enjoyed! taormina in itself is stunning but combine this beautiful location with the luxury and tone of villa angela and you have a holiday that is hard to beat. our room was tastefully decorated with a breathtaking view of the bay and mount etna and the hotel being... more
Good location but question the 4* label from Caroley
This hotel is in a very good location, away from the very busy town centre. Lovely views of Etna and the sea but also overlooking the surrounding built up area which is not quite so attractive. All rooms appear to have a good view from the very spacious balconies. We had a Superior De Luxe - these rooms are ok but not very de luxe - the bath had mould around the edge and leaked - the room maids forgot something every day - usually to replace the towels or similar which was a bit of a nuisance. A glimpse through the reviews here in Tripadvisor.com will without doubt create the rightful impression that almost all our visitors are entirely delighted with the service that we provide during their stay with us. However no establishment is perfect and as much as it frustrates us and our young staff, we do accept that occasionally over the working year mistakes do happen. In the case where our clients are let down we do apologize profusely and instantly launch an investigation into the cause. Rest assured that I as manager will put right any wrong that has occurred.
