just got back from a weeks stay room overlooked a really loud room and a load of rubbish bins and our neighbours in room 30 hate their deputy manager in the hospital called martin I know this as the walls are paper thin and they were LOUD. Staff seemed annoyed anytime we asked for anything as if we were bothering them. Roda is a bit of a dump cig butts on beach and pebbly weve been to a few islands in the Med and this was the worst however the local tavernas were really good and cheap and rented a scooter to get around the island from top gear renatls-cheap. Room was clean but no tv no tea facilities no cooker no fridge etc etc you only get two small beds and some garden chairs on the balcony. We had a electric socket gaffer taped to the wall and a really crappy bathroom. Breakfast was the same every morning a hard boiled egg a piece of cake some tiny pieces of rock hard toast, roll a piece of wafer thin ham and 1 slice of processed cheese

Me and my boyfriend had a fantastic time at afrodite hotel. I am lactose intolerent and i enquired where we would be able to purchase some goats milk, after looking in the shops and not finding any one of the staff members (spiros) managed to get me some fresh goats milk. The rooms were very clean. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Roda its self is a lovely place. We will definately be returning next year.

I have just returned from a stay at the Afodite Hotel in Roda with my partner. We had a really good holiday but that was due to the fact that we made an effort to travel around the island by hiring a car an going on a boat trip. When we first arrived at the hotel I was relieved as the room was clean. However when I went to ask if we could have clean towels after three days I was told, rather rudely, by the receptionists that the maids know when to change the towels. I felt that this was unacceptable. On another occasions my boyfriend went to reception to explain that the shower attachment had come lose on and to see if it could be fixed. His request was ignored and in the end he had to fix the shower himself! The staff were not that friendly. Breakfast was fine but skip the orange juice. Roda itself has lovely parts but there are lots of bars offering english breakfasts, beans on toasts and Sunday roasts which is fine if thats what you are looking for but we were not. All the bars seemed to have lots of tribute bands! Again not somehing that we were looking for. Before booking I would think about what kind of holiday you would like if you want to relax and soak up another culture then this probably is the place for you.

Me and my partner absolutely loved our holiday at the Afrodite Hotel- Roda! The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Maid service was excellent, everyone was so friendly! There is a lovely, very well kept pool area with a pool side bar from which you can order delicious food and drink at reasonable prices.
Breakfast is at a reasonable time, quite basic but you have the option of choosing a cooked breakfast if you so wish, for a little extra money.
There is the option of air conditioning in your room for about 30euros which i recommend if you are staying in july/august time.
The hotel is in a great location with some lovely sea view rooms. (The beach being only about 10 meters away!) There is a restaurant at the hotel which do delicious greek cuisine and there is also a range of tavernas close by where food is also outstanding.
We are already planning our next holiday there next year. We had a very positive experience of this hotel and resort!

just returned from a very relaxing holiday at the AFRODITE HOTEL .RODA...rooms are very clean, pool is excellent, food is excellent, location is excellent....
This is a family run hotel and I must say that all staff/family members are extremely friendly and helpful at all times.
There are lots of bars ,shops, eating places close at hand but we chose to stay at the hotel for all our entertainment. this was mainley due to the hospitality shown to us by everyone there especially AFRODITE herself.
I recommend THE AFRODITE HOTEl as an excellent place to stay.
- Advice: excellent place to stay .exceptionally friendly staff.

Well we have just got back from Roda and we stayed here at the Afrodite Appartments. After reading so may bad reviews i was dreading going however i thought they were great. The rooms are small and basic but clean and besides you dont spend much time stuck in the room!!!!!!
The staff were friendly and breakfast was simple of cheese and ham balm, toast and mederia cake. Was a bit monotanas but you have Big Ben's bar next door run by Yiannis who also serves great cocktails and you can see him Greek dancing and pick tables up with his teeth. He is classic!!!! or many more places to eat at. The food on an evening was great here plenty to choose from and huge portions that cant be finished. All was lovely. I have even brought home a recipe. The location was fantastic right on the beach. It has its own supermarket and shop too both open till 11pm. I would go back tomorrow and stay at Afrodite its cheap as chips, and value for money. Our holiday was fab. Roda is so homley and Big Bens is great with Yiannis and his wife, he is so cheeky. Roda and Afrodite caters for all.

Reading many other reviews, i wasn't sure what to expect of the hotel. We arrived at 7 in the morning! after a long flight. When we got to our rooms, we were a bit disapointed by the size - but hey, it's a hotel, not an apartment. We also couldn't turn the electric on as no one told us how (the use of the key). I enjoyed the breakfast, a viriety, basic but then again don't most people have the same breakfast everyday? A couple of days we had breakfast at Roxannes as it did get a little borning - but i'm not complaining. The staff we friendly and the pool outside was nice with nice food and drink from the pool bar. The location for the hotel is perfect! 10 out of 10! Loved the resturants - Must go to: Smileys, (the greek one next to Smileys) Mexican opposite the drunken sailor, Roxannes (milkshakes are to die for but NOT the fruit smoothies). Loved the beach - Thomas Cook told us that it's best to go for the yellow sun beds - THIS IS WRONG! Go to the most comfy ones - blue with extra blue padding and a green pillow, next to the water sports - these are a few euros cheaper and a LOT more comfortable. Also, i would definatly recommend the watersports, good money and good fun. We went paraglyding - amazing experience. I would go to Roda again but pay more for a different hotel. Oh and it's 25 euros for an extra day as you otherwise have to leave the hotel at 12 the day before.
Definatly recommend Thomas Cook as a helpful and friendly tour operator!!
- Advice: Take lots of insect spray for bites!!!!
- Activities: Smileys, watersports, Roxannes, Horse riding.

After reading some dodgy reviews about the afrodite i was a little wary of going there and was prepared for the worst, however when i got there some of the negative reviews written on here couldnt be less from the truth!
Okay the rooms are basic its literally just a bed & bathroom, but isnt that what most hotels are like? and who stays in their room during the day anyways.
The comment below states that the breakfasts were 'minging' errm where you eating the same one as me? okay it was basic (bread roll, boiled egg, toast, ham & cheese) but it was more than enough and of a high quality especially the bread rolls which in my opinion were delicious!
The staff were lovely and very friendly, the hotel is family run and they couldnt do enough for guests, pool area wasnt the biggest but it was of adequate size with plenty of sun loungers, jacuzzi and small childrens pool. The snack bar was expensive but it always is back at the accomdation.
Only downside was that the pool area shuts at 6 becasue the lady who works there has to get home to see her daughter which is fair enough, when this happend we just headed straight to the beach for the last couple of hours of sun! :)
the resort of roda istelf is amazing, it was me and my familes first time to grecce and we would deffinatly go back
overall 10/10 for the holiday, those who dont enjoy the arfoditi my advice to you is to pay more for a higher rated accomodation as most of the guests we spoke to were very happy with the services provided :)

When we was getting transferred from the airport, there were many drop off's to not nice places, and i was a bit wary about our hotel, but i was still open minded.
When we got there, it was about 4 in the morning, and the staff were incredibly friendly, 10 out of 10 for that.
When we got to our room, we realised there's no kettles or nothing, the bathroom look as though it hadn't been cleaned, there was hair everywhere and scum between the tiles and in the sink. On several occasions the cleaner hadn't gave us clean towels, which is disgusting! Breakfast was minging, i would not recommend eating it! I didn't and i also got in the shower with flip flops on it was that bad.
It was not a child friendly holiday at all, the pool was lovely, but one one day because its about 3m deep, a lady nearly drowned and a passer by had to dive in and save her as there was no lifeguard.
The pool side bar was quite pricey! But the food was nice! The bar staff were lovely and very polite.
One day, we had no water, i was in the shower and the water turned off to i had to get the shampoo off my hair using bottled water! Another day the lift was out of order so we had to carry the suitcases down 4 flights of stairs!
Terrible hotel, lovely staff though and nice location, if it wasn't for the dirtyness or bad food, it would be rated hire, i would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Just back from Roda, 2nd year running. Had a fantastic holiday at the Aphrodite Hotel, very very friendly, very clean and great value for money. Definitely booking for next year. Our travel rep was Toni, what a great girl and very professional. She has a wealth of knowledge but is not pushy. Lunches at the hotel are excellent quality and value, Spiros is very friendly. As is Takis who has the restaurant joined to the hotel. Fantastic Chicken Portabello, moussaka and fish. Great cocktails at Mistral, try THE RITZ cocktail, yum yum.
Pool area was a bit too crowded for me, but was kept lovely and clean. Pool bar affordable for snacks and drinks too. Overall my sister and I had a lovely holiday and can't wait to go back. Thanks to you all in Roda.
