Very pleasant experience
Have just arrived back from a week at Las Marismas. There were five adults and four children on the trip - all equally impressed. The Las Marismas website does not do justice to the excellent facilities at the complex, but I was optimistic before travelling given the many good reviews on tripadvisor. Certainly this is more than a 3 star complex - the facilities are new, clean and secure. It caters for all interests with three pools (which were never crowded), mini-golf, children's area, astra turf soccer/tennis facility, beach type volleyball. One dissappointment was the gym facility which was dark and poorly equipped. We had three one-bedroomed apartments, with terrace. These were not overlooking the pool but faced west for wonderful evening sunshine. Some of the apartments could lack sunlight for the evening time. We sampled the pool resturant for lunch and the main resturant for dinner and returned to both on second occassions. The location is quite near - 10 min walk - to the main area of the town. Shopping a little disappointing none of the main brand stores are located there - the best find was the Benetton 'outlet' type shop down in the old town of Corralejo - many bargains located there. Otherwise the main shopping centre of Las Rotondas in Puerto del Rosario is worth a trip.
Top Marks !!!
I stayed at these apartments recently and had booked due to the reviews I had read on this site. I was delighted with the complex and all the reviews rang true. The staff are very helpful but do not get in your way, the rooms are spacious and spotless, the complex is relaxing but still has plenty of activities should you wish to do more than lie at the pool. The main resort is about a 10 minutes stroll and a taxi is about 3 euro. All in all I would recommend this complex to anyone and will definitely stay her again myself. The only thing I cannot review is the restaurant but this is because I did not try it, however the pool bar food I did try and this was perfectly adequate for bar food and the canarian potatoes are gorgeous here. Top Marks for this complex.
Gilding the Lily perhaps but another good review
My husband and I are just back from a week at these lovely apartments. I could not fault them, the rooms were spacious, clean and well furnished. I especially liked the double balcony with patio doors from the living area and the bedroom and what a nice change to have wooden patio furniture rather than plastic. The patio doors also have netted fly screens so you could let loads of nice fresh air in but keep all those pesky bugs out. We ate out so the cooking facilities were adequate although I would have liked a kettle rather than the coffee maker provided but that is not a complaint just a personal observation. They are a good 10 minute walk from all the restaurants and shops which some people might find onerous but we found it was very pleasant to have a stroll back to the apartment after we had eaten. The pavements are wide and well lit. We found we could be down at the Harbour in 30 minutes without jogging! The bed is one of the comfiest I have slept in and the shower is great very powerful with plenty of hot water. The maids are very efficient and all in all the whole complex is well kept and clean. The maids do this quirky thing with paper flowers and the net curtains which really made you think that they cared....I would have no hesitation to recommend these lovely apartments to everyone.
Top Class Complex
Just back from a 10 night stay in the beautiful Las Marismas Apts in Corralejo. Have to say these are the best apts we have ever stayed in, rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean, we even had a Queen size bed which was very very comfortable. Our apt had 2 balconies with amazing views to Los Lobos and Lanzarote. Complex was quiet while we were there so no trouble getting sunbeds by any of the 3 pools. Cushions for sunbeds are provided free and you can even get large yellow beach towels from reception to use also free of charge. Grounds are beautiful and kept very clean. We did not use Reataurant or bar as the complex is only a 10 min walk into the centre of Corralejo where there are some fantastic restaurants and quaint bars to suit all ages. The Las Marismas is a large complex which I'd imagine would be quite crowded in peak season but is ideal for a quiet winter break. We will be back.
Great apartments
My wife, five month son, my mother and I have just returned from a very relaxing and enjoyable week at Las Marismas. We had a two bedroom apartment and were very pleased with how clean and spacious the room was. Prior to travelling we had requested a cot for our son and a microwave in order to sterilize his bottles, as well as a second floor room with a pool view. On arrival all our requests had been met, so if you have any requests it is worth putting these forward when booking. The complex is very clean and well kept with two good sized pools, one of which is heated and pleasant to swim in. There is also a large kiddies pool. The other sporting facilities are excellent, with squash courts, tennis courts and an 18 hole crazy golf, all on site. Pool towels are provided free of charge from reception for a refundable 10 euro deposit, and the wooden sun loungers and mattresses make for comfortable sun bathing. We found the food at the pool bar to be hit or miss but if we had to complain about something, this would be the only thing. The complex is located in a quiet area and it is a comfortable 10 minutes walk into the centre of the resort, or alternatively about 2 euro in a taxi. From the airport, a taxi transfer is just under 40 euro and takes approx 30 minutes. We had a walk around a number of other apartment complexes whilst in Corralejo, and we all agreed that the Las Marismas would be where we would look to go back to. The complex is very buggy and wheelchair friendly with a lift in reception and walk ways to avoid steps throughout. So if you are thinking of booking these apartments, then I would definately recommend them, and hope that you have as good a time as we did!! We booked through holidayroomsdirect.com and found the site to be very competitive and easy to use.
Beautiful but dull
OK my husband & I (both mid forties) booked in as all inclusive for a treat for Christmas and New Year. First impressions excellent - we arrived late but reception were waiting for us and check in took literally minutes. Our room was spotless and a great size, as we had missed dinner a small cold supper had been left in our room. Bags down and off to the bar for a pick me up - we were the only two people there! The barman assured us that within 2 days the hotel would be full. Yes, the hotel did fill up but there was just no atmosphere, everywhere you went was SO QUIET, all the staff were exceptionally polite but for want of a better word dull. Don't get me wrong here we didn't go on holiday expecting wild parties but did expect some seasonal spirit. Food again OK but nothing to shout about, edible but boring except for Christmas Day and New Years Eve when Gala dinners were laid on and they were exceptional. The pool areas are lovely with plenty of comfortable beds, also available crazy golf, tennis and squash. The small mini market is basic but very cheap (cheaper than the big shops in the town) so great for necessities. All in all think this hotel would be great as a base, so would suggest room only, the only problem with that is that people we met were fed up with the trudge into town which takes about 15 minutes not a picturesque walk. If the hotel could drum up some atmosphere it could be fantastic. One other tip our room no was 2239 our balcony never had any sun so if you want shade ask for a room it that area otherwise ask for a room away from the crazy golf area (that might also become noisy in the summer months).
Great Value
Wanted a quiet week in the warm to relax. Marismas fitted the bill perfectly. Excellent quality accommodation, very clean and good food. We were booked for halfboard and didn't find the need to look anywhere else. Some quote the hotel as 5* but we wouldn't quite rate it that highly although it is probably a very good 4*. Booked through Onthe beach website.
loved it
we just come back from a weeks stay at las marismas and loved it , lovely rooms, good food, friendly staff,no cats , would recomend this hotel and will go back all in all great hotel,
Amazing.
Went for 1 week and it was easily the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. The pool area is calm relaxing and beautiful. The main part of correlejo was within walking distance of the hotel, and they provide a bus to beach each day. The hotel is across the road from the water park and it isn't worth a visit, you have to pay for locker, blow up rings and sunbeads along with entry, it is really a rip off. The hotel is kept very clean and the only fault is i would say there wasnt much else for the kids to do apart from the 2 pools and mini golf. No early mornings in aid of getting a sunbead either and towels are available for rent from the reception.
Las Marismas de Corralejo
We stayed at this hotel for two weeks in june. The room was large with new furniture and a nice modern bathroom. There was a kitchen area which had everything needed for self catering. The room was cleaned 3-4 times a week and was mostly done quite well. There was a large balcony which meant both the bedroom and living room had access to it. Our room had the sun on the balcony from late afternoon untill the evening which meant it became hot in the room and sometimes a little hard to sleep. There was a ceiling fan in the bedroom but it didnt seem to do much. Staff were very friendly and helpful if we needed anything. It was my partners birthday during our stay at the hotel and on that morning a member of staff knocked on the door with 2 glasses and a free bottle of wine to say happy birthday! The hotel itself was modern and large, there was a small onsite shop which had everything you would need (although quite pricey) the pool area was great it had 2 main pools one childrens pool and was always kept clean. There was plenty of space for the sunbeds and never had a problem getting one any time of the day and they were also very comfortable! We booked room only but there is an option to go all inclusive which means there are a few activites at the hotel including tennis (small charge), Free use of a small gym and also free crazy golf all of which were very good. There was evening entertainment advertised but never really anything big. It was roughly a 10-15min walk to town and the nearest beaches. Overall a very nice hotel.
