" We stayed as a family in April 2008.... "
Submitted By: Mr P LoughranHotel is excellent has great facilities and is very large, pools are a bit cold this time of year but when the sun shines it's great.
Had a two bedroom apartment, which turned out to be two apartments with adjoining door, lots of space and two of everything.
Easy access to all restuarants and attractions by foot or Taxi's are soooo cheap that we taxi'd everywhere.
Highly recomend this resort and would definitely return.
Best Restuarant - had to be the Slow boat III in the old town, you have to pass the other 4 Slow boat restaurants to get to it, but well worth the visit..
Food is plentiful and cheap in general, but go to the better restaurants if you want good quality...
Didn't try the buffet in the hotel as did not want to pay €22 Euros for the two kids to eat nothing....however found out on the last day that kids under 5 eat free and under 12 or something eat for half price, so would have tried it other than that.
Bought in the shop and had breakfast in the room every morning, 7.50 a head in the restaurant, you can eat very well for everyone on 10 Euros...
Shop in the resort is actually OK and has quite a lot of stuff in it, and actually found that the bigger supermarket around the corner was dearer for a lot of stuff such as bread, water etc..
Found a doughnut/cake shop just before leaving the main strip and entering the old town on the right beside the last taxi rank....doughnuts to die for and only a Euro each and as big as a mans open hand...:-)
Water park is OK for the money (80 Euros for Family of 4) and dunes trip is worth it, if the wind isn't so blowy..sunbeds are 3 Euros each on the beach and the parasol is an extra 3 Euros.
One tip for after meals...main courses are very reasonable but add in deserts and they are pricy enough...everywhere sells ice cream, so save 20 Euros (for 4 people)on having deserts with dinner and have your choice of ice creams for 5 Euros....well worth it, oh and throw in some doughnuts..:-)

Submitted By: Ms S ShawThe hotel buildings and grounds are well maintained, spotlessly clean and was a pleasure to stay at. All the staff were exceptionally well mannered and courteous and friendly. We stayed A/I and found the food good value with breakfast a good buffet selection of meats, cheeses, salads, fruit, bread, butter (if you can find it hidden amongst the marg!), choc spread, jams, melon etc tea and coffee (could have been hotter!), and lastly hot stuff - bacon, sausages (not English), eggs (done to how you like them - egg lady does lovely cheese and ham omelettes, but took a while to get used to doing hard fried eggs lol! the hot food was plentiful but a tad on the cool side (could have been hotter). The waiters in the restaurant were excellent, clearing away used plates almost as soon as you had used them. Overall very good selection.
Evening meal there was selection of salads, fruit etc for starters and hot food e.g., always 1 or 2 carved meats (pork, beef, lamb) or choice of 5 or 6 meals that didn’t vary very much from day to day but was very nice, with selection of veg and usually chips, once or twice we had new potatoes in meat stew, again very nice but could have been hotter. Puddings were mainly mouse or cake/fruit and ice cream. The dinner time lunch was served in the pool bar and again a smaller choice of salads, warm meat and cake or ice cream. Overall I thought very good value for money for A/I.
The evening entertainment could have been better. We had a Cuban band (very good) but only on for an hour or so, a flamenco couple, and a magician (very funny), but if you on A/I not much else after then if you wanted to make the most of the A/I drink. A/I drinks were all local beer, spirits and wines, white wine was very nice, but if you don't like Aguila beer (lager) you're goosed as that is all that is available on A/I, mostly everything else you can get though if you wanted anything not on bar list you can get half price.
The hotel was a bit out of the way, but that is what we wanted, but was probably about a half an hour stroll to the main street with all the bars and shops etc. (5 Euro in taxi). The harbour area is lovely and there are many fish restaurants lined along it.
The hotel is just next to the water park but we didn't use it so can't comment on it. The pools were lovely and not too cold either. Plenty of sunbeds (with lovely comfy cushions), although most had been reserved with towels (as usual!) before 8 am so be quick if you want a sunbed! The hotel provides a free bus to the sand dunes at 11 am returning at 3.30 which is brilliant, the nudist beach further up the sand dunes is a must if you want an all over tan. We took drinks and sandwiches with us but the beach bars are not too over priced at all.
Overall the hotel and its facilities were excellent with a small supermarket on site, a minigolf, gym, kids club, kids play area, internet cafe. The apartments are well maintained, clean and spacious (although double beds are actually 2 single pushed together!), microwave, fridge and all utensils even though we stayed A/I it was nice to be able to have a cuppa first thing and last thing at night.
We would definitely stay there again, but maybe would try half board or even self-catering as would have like to gone out of the complex more. Just also to say that the hotel excelled itself with the fantastic buffet they put on new year's eve, with champagne and the works - brilliant night (oh and they gave us all a goodie bag with funny hat, party poppers and streamers etc), and the Cuban group was on again! - but who cared after 4 bottles of wine he he!
I would highly recommend the hotel, the grounds, and staff and everything was brilliant, just the entertainment and cool food could have been better. We arranged our transport from the Airport with Holiday-Taxis (on line) but wouldn't recommend them - took us 3 hrs to get from Airport to hotel (should have been 40 mins!) Happy holidays!

Submitted By: Miss C BryantA little out of the main shopping/restaurant/nightlife area but easy flat walking distance (about 15/20min).
Would recommend and we will be returning next winter.
Previously stayed in Hesperia Playa Blanca which is the other end of the town and would also be happy to stay there again too, although would choose Las Marismas first.

Submitted By: Mrs C V SmithI cannot say anything bad about the hotel, the staff where all really friendly.
The Apartments all very clean. The Pool and grounds where kept very clean by the maintenance staff which you saw walking around the complex All day every day.
This hotel is not great for people that are looking for self catering and have walking difficulties as it is quite a walk to all the Restaurants and Bars.
The only Down side to this hotel is that there is no evening entertainment at all so if you want entertainment you have to venture out.
The Resort is a Great resort this is the second time we have been to Corralejo and would definitely come back again.

Submitted By: Mr J JonesThe hotel... looks perfect, inside and outside. Staff are the best you can have. Always polite helpful and nice. The pool is immense. And the people stayed there were really friendly too.
The beech, that is nearby, is absolutely stunning. PERFECT place to relax in the heat.
Also there are many things to keep the WHOLE family entertained throughout your stay, in and near the hotel... Perfect place to spend a perfect holiday 10/10.

Submitted By: Mrs K OkeeffeOnly downfall quite a walk to town but was a pleasant walk, with the crepes stand and nice ice creams on the way back. Not a lot for the kids to do but they enjoyed the nice clean large pool all day.
" Fantastic all inclusive holiday.... "
Submitted By: Mrs J SimpsonFood plentiful (all buffet style). Loads of choice and cooked perfectly. Night time entertainment limited but bar area pleasant and loads of space for the kids to run around and play. Great kids club with mini disco every night. Kids club is on a drop-in basis so no pressure and no set times (and completely free).
Swimming pools are clean and there are loads of sun beds to go around. The pool areas are spacious so you don't feel on top of each other.
Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is opposite the water park. A great place but a bit pricey for a family of four. We went at 3pm and the rate is reduced (we didn't want to take the youngest all day as there is very little shelter from the sun).
The hotel is a short walk to the town centre where there are some great shops and night time activities for the kids (trampolines and bungee) as well as some great live music bars. The hotel has a supermarket on site so no need to venture off if you don't want to.
There is mini-golf, a gym, tennis and squash courts as well as beach volleyball.
Can only fault the hotel for not having air conditioning but you can hire fans so this wouldn't put us off returning in the future. All in all a fantastic place to go.
" Had a few initial concerns about this... "
Submitted By: Mr I TevezIt was late at night so reception said to go back following morning and they would see what they could do. Good enough, they changed us to room 1214, and from then on we had a very nice holiday.
The balconies in this hotel are huge!! Our first week the hotel was pretty empty and we had most of the place to ourselves, 2nd week was slightly busier but still not too bad.
The walk onto the main strip wasn’t actually as bad as we first feared, about 15 minutes. Plenty of restaurants and a small but reasonable selection of bars. Was glad it was myself and my partner, had it been a lads holiday there wouldn’t have been much to do there!!
Cordon Bleu is a great place to eat or drink along the beach front, sadly we only tried there on our 2nd to last day, but the staff are wonderful, views are amazing and they do a good selection of drinks too.
The hotel was very large, could easily be a 4* but while the rooms are kept nice and clean, the corridors in the hotel aren’t. There was a dead moth on the ledge by the mirror on the bottom of our corridor when we arrived that was still there when we left. And one night when it rained it was almost flooded the next day and nobody mopped up!! Dangerous!!
Mini golf is pretty good and free (for an hour, pay afterwards), tennis is 3 Euros for an hour and pretty good, overall couldn’t really fault the hotel after our initial concerns over the ants (we also saw a cockroach the first night by the bar area, but that was the only time we did), and if we were to go back to Fuerteventura again (although we prefer Lanzarote in truth) I wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this hotel again.

Rooms were very spacious and had excellent facilities, they were cleaned 5 days a week and beds were comfortable and TV included, three English channels.
Food
There was a variety of different food every day, a lot better if you don’t fancy eating British Food.
Staff
Were very friendly and helpful and the waiting staff were very eager to take your plates from you!
Entertainment
Evening entertainment consisted of three shows, Saxophone, Magic Show and Karaoke
We didn’t see the Magic Show but heard it was interesting.
Sports
There were a few things to do but for teenagers not really anything to do, so I’m glad I only wanted to stay by the pool! There was tennis courts, a Gym and Mini Golf and some other sports but I must say, since we were on AI we were allowed to play Mini Golf as many times as we could and use the tennis courts when we wanted, so I thought that was ok.
Weather
The weather was hot nearly every day but it was always cloudy in a morning but the sun came out in the afternoon, I heard that it always changes in Fuerteventura so don’t worry if it looks dull, it will brighten up!!
We got wind burn on the first day, make sure you use lots of sun cream all over your body not just the bits in the sun because the wind will get to you!!!
Bad Points
1 - Need table tennis or pool table to attract more families with teenagers.
2 - Cockroaches in bathroom, this was sorted by simply blocking up the sink holes (which were the only place they could get in) with tissue we never had them again after that.
3 - Evening entertainment needs to be improved. Quickly.
If you want a relaxing holiday them Las Marismas is for you!!
Please visit this Hotel, it was definitely worth the money!!
" Absolutely beautiful complex! We... "
Submitted By: Miss L ReidThe grounds are beautifully landscaped; the sun beds are very comfortable and there were always plenty of them.
The pools looked clean- however one was very cold! There was a separate kiddie’s pool, which was great as the families and children stayed around that area, so the other pools (particularly the cold one) were very peaceful.
The rooms were clean and modern; the self catering facilities were good; and we had a lovely balcony that was very quiet and got the sun most of the day.
We only tried the food out twice: the first night we arrived we went to the restaurant and had the buffet. It was OK, but I could imagine that it would get a bit boring after a while, so we were glad we weren't all inclusive.
On our last day we went to the pool side restaurant and went for the a la carte menu: it was delicious (much better than the buffet). We had the chicken and chips with salad and it was very tasty!
We had a TV in our room, but the only English speaking channels are Sky News and CNN. If you are German or Spanish speaking then there is much more of a selection!
We like to watch a film before going to bed so initially this was a bit annoying, however you are able to hire a DVD player from reception for 24 Euro for the week and get 6 DVDs.
Admittedly the DVD selection was not the most up to date (pirated copies of films such Pirates of the Caribbean and How to lose a guy in 10 days) However it served a purpose! If we went again we'd bring a few DVDs with us.
The apartments are on the outskirts of Corralejo so you need to walk a bit to get into town; or get a taxi which is only 3 or 4 euro.
We ate at a few restaurants by the harbour which were nice- one is El Sombrero where you cook your own slices of fillet steak, or pork, which was really nice.
There was another restaurant called Los Pepes that we couldn't get to eat at as was booked up- but it seemed nice.
Only slight gripe we had was that the staff in the complex reception were sometimes a bit moody!
Apart from that we were very happy with our stay and would definitely go back there if we decided to visit Fuerteventura again.

Submitted By: Mrs SLKThe apartments were beautiful, the ambiance perfect, the whole hotel area with flowers and pools the most well-kept I've ever seen, staff members most helpful.
The pools were all too cold though (also the one which was supposed to be heated).)
The walking distance to town was perfect. Facilities for the children were marvellous.
In short: We were overwhelmed and looking forward to the best family holiday ever!
In the first night, we all found a few small cockroaches in all three apartments. But when in my apartment the next day they were bigger, and the day after that even in the bedroom curtains about 4 cm long it was the limit.
I got killing spray from the staff; it resulted in dead cockroaches and an almost dead spraying person! Did you know these animals can fly when dying?
I moved into my daughter's apartment and next morning I got a new apartment on the first floor. No cockroaches as far as I saw.
It was just a dreadful experience, and I'll never go back, I'm sorry to say.
" Las Marismas was a great 3-4* hotel.... "
Submitted By: Miss GK StrachanIt is situated opposite the Baku waterpark, so we thought it may be really busy/noisy, but the waterpark was closed over the winter months, which probably added to the laid back feel of the place.
The aparthotel was spacious and beautifully landscaped. The sporting facilities were brilliant (multipurpose astro, indoor squash, small studio-gym, table tennis, a highly amusing mini golf, three pools, bike hire, and volleyball).
Our room was well furnished and had self catering facilities, although we didn't use them. Take your own iron though! We ended up having to rent one for a whole week from an external company (organised through reception).
The staff were really helpful and information about local trips, shops and facilities were provided by an up-to-date pc in the reception area.
The food wasn't amazing, but it is what you'd expect. When the extensive buffet included local cuisine it was much nicer, rather than the variety of English and German-influenced meals.
I wouldn't recommend it to vegetarians. It got a bit samey by the end of the week, so we strolled along the street and into the centre of the resort to the restaurants there.
All in all a great holiday. We had fantastic weather all week, got roped into the magic show on the last night and made full use of the sports facilities - so Las Marismas was one of the best breaks I've ever had.

Expectations fulfilled, accomodation was great and apartment incredibly spacious and comfortable
Large complex but never felt crowded or cramped
Plenty of space around the pools
Coffee machine provided;kettles, toasters and microwaves available to hire
Only a few British guests majority seemed to be German and Scandinavian
Taxis very reasonable and cost to old town/harbour around 3 Euros
Large selection of restaurants and bars but weak £ has meant that meals and drinks are quite pricey although general quality is good
For best value would recommend Lemon Tree (same street as Gibsons) run by British couple
cheapest breakfast we could find at 2.95 Euros
Menu quite limited but quality of food excellent and surroundings very clean and pleasant
Advice: Quiet resort suitable for couples and families
Activities: Best value try Lemon Tree
Good for: Beach
