We have just returned from a fantastic week in Fuerteventura. The weather was excellent and so was the accommodation, las marismas. The apartments were very modern, spacious and immaculate. We had fresh towels 3 times a week and the apartment was cleaned almost every other day.
The apartments were set in an ideal and very peaceful location, although it was near to the centre of Corralejo. A taxi to the centre is approx 2 euros!
We stayed by the pool most days as las marismas had everything we needed on site- a supermarket, lovely pool bar, 3 great pools and comfortable sun beds. There is no need to get up at the crack of dawn to reserve sun beds as there are more than enough to go round.
We found some lovely places to eat in the centre- La Tasca, Don Camilo and Poco Loco. These are all on the main street and very reasonably priced. An average meal for 2 people with drinks was 23 euros!
Overall it's a great place to go and I will be returning as soon as possible.

We have just returned from a weeks...

Dec 2005, Mr M J  Kemp

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Miralobos apartments. We had a wonderful stay, the apartment was lovely as was the poolside bar and all the staff. It was spotless clean and everyone was very helpful. I thoroughly recommend this place.
Eating out : The two restaurants on the town beach offer great food at a good price. We also ate at the Avenida and had a lovely Paella.
Then we made a big big mistake - We ate Sunday lunch at 4pm on the 4th of December 2005 at the "Talk Of The Town English Pub". It was totally disgusting, the worst meal I have ever eaten, we were made to pay up front for it, and no wonder, you wouldn’t have paid after you had eaten it and worse - seen the old boy who made it and what he was up to. He got the "Roast beef" and put it in a microwave for 30 seconds, then put it on the plate with his bare hands, and then squashed it flat again with bare hands.
Then some head scratching, followed by picking up some raw fish to fry for another order (no hand washing in between) The same process applied to the Yorkshire pudding, then some veg that had been stewing for about a month was added, along with a couple of Pre-Cooked roast spuds, lashings of gravy, and some horseradish out of a Huge Jar. Needless to say we all had the Squids Eight hours later. We must have been mad to eat it after what we saw, but we had a starving toddler in tow and just needed to feed him. I wish we hadn't he has had diaorreah ever since.

amazing place. 3 wonderful pools. 2 main and 1 for children. loads to do. mini golf, kids area where kids club is provided. pools aren’t that warm, but I found them very pleasant. enough sun beds to go around. food is ok. food bar I don’t think is open long enough. shuts at 4.00! then the restaurant opens at 6.00. food is nice though, and big enough choice to chose from. Nightlife isn’t great. not much happening. but not far down the road is town. full of pubs and great places to go to. found a great pub called "talk of the town" full of English people and great food that’s cheap. staff are very pleasant and helpful. need assistance and they will come. rooms are lovely, the beds are big enough for 3! amazing bathroom, could stand in the shower all day. maids come in daily for towels and loo needs, and change bed sheets every two days. nearest beach is not far at all. you can walk to the one near town. or you can get a coach, which picks you up from the hotel, at 2euros pp. and that takes you right to another beach, which is quite secluded. and picks you up and takes you back to the hotel. gives you 3or4hours at the beach. I didn’t see many buses but enough taxis. if you wish to see Fuerteventura, I propose you hire a car for part of your holiday. if not all of it. all together, amazing place, good flight and I will go there again.

Very smart complex with beautiful but...

Very smart complex with beautiful but quite cold pools. Apartments very nicely furnished, lovely comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom and shower. There were mesh doors so no unwanted visitors of the 6-legged variety were in evidence.
If like us you are self-catering there were limited facilities, only 2 electric rings a toaster and a coffee maker. (Other S/C apts have had oven, grill kettle and microwave.) Also no cleaning materials were supplied or cloths or brushes. Equipment was limited - we asked for wine glasses, which were immediately and happily supplied, but pans basic crockery and cutlery were there! Should have brought a tea towel! Cleanliness was mainly excellent and sheets and towels were changed regularly. There was one washing machine available but a laundry is in the plan for next year, as is an on site shop.
Staff overall were extremely helpful and pleasant - just one didn’t seem to recognise the need for 'being pleasant to the customer'- we found this a lot in Portugal where smiles were rare! Looking around at other accommodation I think we landed very lucky, fans and TV were included. Most of the other guests were German and Dutch and happy to pass pleasantries. The gardens were beautiful and well lit at night when the whole site was extremely quiet. Meals were available but with so many excellent restaurants we ate out. We liked Poco Loco, Waikiki, Rincon and Rosa Pizzeria.
Corralejo is full of tacky souvenir shops but makes the walk to the harbour more interesting. Some wonderful beaches if you take time to look.

Lovely complex - clean and nicely...

Oct 2004,

Lovely complex - clean and nicely laid out although not quite finished yet. Shop and Laundry to come!
Nice apartments, best shower ever. Limited equipment for self catering, only 2 rings a toaster and a coffee maker, no kettle oven or microwave.
No mops brushes etc although the apartments were 'maid cleaned' regularly. Regular changes of linen too. Staff mainly pleasant and helpful. Pools lovely although I would have liked them to be warmer. Mainly Dutch and German very few British at the moment but everybody friendly. A reasonable walk from the village and the sea. Only tried the Pool Bar for food it was OK. Dinner was a buffet served around 6.30 in a brightly lit Dining Room we preferred the many local restaurants, Waikiki, Poco Loco, were best. Overall a high standard.
