" never again "

just come back from 2 weeks ai would not recommend the food or alcohol. food was cold and sometimes under cooked. if you enjoy a drink this was as if it was watered down alot did complain to a manager but he didnt seem bothered. there was only 1 snack bar open which only had cheese and ham sandwiches and ice cream you had to go to the main restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner. appartmentments and pool areas were ok they were kept clean only problem was you had to get your sunbed early or you didnt have one. would not recommend ai as i found it cheap enough to eat out in local restaurants. also a lot of the ammenities not open eg supermarket pizza place pool side bars

" Value for money "

Just came back from a fantastic holiday 2 families with children aged 8,10,11 and 13 they all had a fantastic time. Food nice but could sometimes be a little cold and monotonous.Warning to anyone stopping in this hotel leave nothing hanging around or in drawers as maids and maintenance are light fingered and stole around 30euros hair clips and accessories we put passports and bulk of money in safety deposit box. When reported staff and rep unconcerned. Rep changed 3 times on our 2 week hol and were unhelpful.Water park great and all inclusive a must.

Advice: Very expensive resort

Activities: Water park and camel ride.

" Don't judge a book by its cover. "

Arrived at the San Jorge at 12 noon, and to be honest for the 1st hour was disappointed! room wasn't ready, couldn't work out the layout of the hotel and so on... but wow what a turn-a-round, we were given pool view rooms 1330 & 1308 which were free. and from then on all was fab!!! Food is excellent if you want your meat cooked for longer - just ask its that simple to avoid raw meat. Excellent choice, salad fish meat chips potatoes etc. Drinks ice cold - all inclusive cocktails v.nice in the English bar. Staff really helpful especially Barbara at reception. My kids aged 15 and 12 had a fab time made plenty of friends.
The Antigua pool a bit like a theme from Benidorm, but the San Jorge pool lovely. Only fun was the sun beds being reserved at 6 in the morning when it was pitch black! Very funny to watch.... Any how would have to agree rooms need a lick of paint, but other than that excellent!

Advice: Beach and English Bar cocktails

Activities: Jet skiing 10e Fun Ride

" Does what is says on the tin! "

Family of four (two kids aged 9 and 5) had a wonderful holiday at the San Jorge. To be honest, all we wanted to do was chill out and relax as a family - this is exactly what we did. All inclusive is a MUST in this resort. Do not go if you are the sort of family who like to visit historical ruins and other trips etc This is the sort of holiday you go on just to relax. The apartment was spotless and huge (we booked two bedroom), beds were a little uncomfortable but there is nothing like your own bed anyway! Food was great, breakfast offers wide variety to suit all, staff very friendly especially if you try a little spanish conversation. Lunch to suit all, burgers, chips or fresh chicken/gammon/fish every day. Dinner, again, to suit all tastes. It really depends on whether food is a big part of your holiday enjoyment or whether you are just happy to eat fresh food. Ofcourse, there are other places to go out to eat if you have extra spending money but with children you do get your monies worth on all inclusive. Our two enjoyed the Mini Club - again staff are really friendly and care for the kids. The evening entertainment is mellow with a mixture of acts - nothing flash just good old fashioned family entertainment. The pools are cleaned regularly and there is a life guard available. Thank you to Nelson and Oswald for making us feel so very welcome. We returned home after two weeks feeling relaxed and pampered. Basically we did not go with too high expectations but were really pleased with the service and the hotel - it does what it says on the tin - a family hotel for a relaxing break.

Advice: A quiet resort for families with younger children.

Activities: Kids enjoyed trampolines.

" Lovely Holiday "

Just returned from a week here with two children aged 20 & 14. Lovely hotel, great position. Food good for all inclusive but may get a little samey over a two week holiday. Good value to go all inclusive as we found things a little pricey. Lovely italian restaurant closeby (the one covered in fairy lights) worth a visit if budget permits. Entertainment not fantastic and there could have been a bit more for my 14 year old son to do during the day. The trip on the submarine well recommended as is the evening spent at the drag show at the music hall tavern - great fun! Would definitely return to this hotel but would pay extra to have a sea view room next time. Apartment very spacious with big beds! Weather fantastic - it is known as the windy island, but you needed the wind to cool you down. Nearest beach great, clean and safe.

Advice: Beach and Weather

Activities: Local italian restaurant, Music Hall Tavern, Submarine excursion and glass bottomed boat

" Happy days in the sun "

Have been abroad every year since our daughter was born in 2002 but this was the first time all inclusive.
Have to say that all inclusive is the way to go if you are travelling to Fuerteventura. Due to the strong Euro everything is REALLY expensive - a big tube of smarties at the airport cost 6 Euro and a copy of Red magazine cost £8.50!!
We stayed in the San Jorge and were delighted to have a 1 bedroom s/c apartment - this is the first time that we have not all had to sleep in the same room. Huge balcony with 2 sets of french doors leading out.
The hotel and resort were empty. Only 5 kids each night at the mini disco (with Oswald the tallest entertainment rep in the world - thought he was on stilts first time we saw him) and plenty of room in the restaurant.
3 swimming pools - we used the one at the San Jorge end and were the only family ever in it.
Breakfast was great - lots of choice.
Lunch - we always ate in the snackbar - the double hamburger is a heart attack on a plate but scrummy.
Dinner - felt this let the hotel down slightly - very samey each night.
Overall I would go back again but there are lots of places in the world!

Advice: Nice short transfer from the airport - great with 2 small kids in tow

Activities: Harley the sealion was good but expensive - 20 euros per adult and 10 per child.

" just returned from a fantastic week... "

just returned from a fantastic week all inclusive at this hotel, we stayed in the antigua suites which are in the middle and are definatley the best ones to stay in as we had a fantastic pool overlooking the sea and the buffet resturant was directly below us, the food was gorgeous and you could have a fresh steak cooked in front of you to your preference, i put loads of weight on due to the beautiful deserts they had to offer , i took my 15 year old and 10 year old with me and they really enjoyed it as there was a new games room that had opened that week ajoining the buffelo bar which cost 5 euros for an hours stay and they could play on any console they wished ,the rooms where clean and fresh towels every other day, if you can get a sea view as its amazing to wake up in the morning and watch the waves crashing on the rocks we stayed in room 2123 which was directley over one of the bars but by midnight the whole complex was in silence , if you can take advantage of the ai as the kids coke were 90p per plastic cup and mine drank at least 10 per day which works out a dear do if you were paying for them . you can help yourself to the tubs of ice cream that are at the snack bars ,there is no longer crisps included in the ai so we just nipped to the 24hr shop which is on the complex and sells almost everything , its a short stroll along the sea front to the nearest beach which the views are breath taking ,all in all a great hotel, great food, great staff and will definatley be returning next year !!!!

" From the outside these apartments... "

From the outside these apartments look really modern and nice, it is like 3 hotels seperately with the middle hotel only have the reception. I really enjoyed my holiday the weather was really hot and there were plenty of places to eat and drink. The pool was clean and a good size no problems with getting any sun loungers either. The rooms were moderately clean there were ants on the work top and in the bathroom but i suppose you get ants everywhere. The view was sea view which was lovely having a nice walk along the sea leads to the beach which is not too far.Take note if you are going to this hotel take a travel kettle with you. This is what disappointed me at this hotel for self catering the facilities provided were appauling. No kettle, air con or a fan, oven or toaster, only microwave and a 2 ring hob provided. Although a fan and a kettle are available to rent from the supermarket which is not something i wanted to do out of principle. The lighting in the hotel was terrible. After half 12 at night the 2 hotels either side were locked and the main one with a reception is open which is fine for security, although having come back after half 12 you have to walk through the hotels by the pool there were no lights it was really bad and unsafe. As been as there where lamps that were not in use?. The hotel was maintained and staff were lovely. I would not put it at a 3 star plus hotel though. For just a bed to stay in this hotel was okay. However do not feel i would visit this hotel again, but i am planning to re visit fuetaventura again.

" i have been 2 this hotel 6 times in... "

i have been 2 this hotel 6 times in the last 8 years, its possibly the best relaxing, clean, friendly place ive been 2. self catering is good as there are plenty good places 2 eat. there are several nice clean pools to relax by. as the years have gone by the hotel has got better, with the prom out the back so you can feed the chimpmonks. on my last visit i even ended up with 2 broken wrists on the 3rd day of 2wks, but still had a great time, even really good hospital!! :)

" Arrived to a clean big two bedroomed... "

Arrived to a clean big two bedroomed apartment in the san jorge. Complex was lovely, clean and right overlooking the sea. Had to put towels down on sunbeds by about 7.45 am to get a sunbed and someone had to sit with them, could have been alot more sunbeds although there is two pool areas. There is 2 play areas for the little ones, which were well maintained. Accomodation was big and spacious but was disappointed as there wasn't a kettle or toaster in the room and this, to me, was main appliances for self catering!! Only had 1 small pan and 1 large pan to cook with and when asked rep he sent a brand new frying pan within hours. This was really the only negative comment about the actual accomodation.
We went out for dinner every night, and would recommend slow boat for chinese, fado rock is a must for steak lovers, tony romas for ribs, and tommy nutters for more of an english meal (they do a nice english breakfast).
We went on a trip to Jandia and the beach is beautiful, clear waters with fish swimming round your feet.
I would say that if you are self catering then you should take as much essential food as you can because the food in the supermarkets are very expensive, and because the euro is bad at the moment it makes it even worse. Although there is a slightly cheaper supermarket in Atlantico shopping centre and there is a free bus service that takes you there.
It was our first time abroad and just our luck we had a 29hour delay on the way back, but we were taken to Correlejo(top of island) and put up for the extra night, and we were all treated really well.
I have already booked my holiday to fuerteventura for 2009 as i loved it although i will be staying somewhere else but not because i didnt like the san jorge, it is just wanted to sample other hotels.

" What a fantastic hotel, we went all... "

What a fantastic hotel, we went all inclusive and were really pleased with the choice of food. Staff were so friendly especially you Franklin !! The rooms were really spacious and there was lots for the kids to do. Really clean hotel and pools and have only been back for 2 weeks and re-booked to go again next year. Probably one of the best holidays I have ever had, and I'm really fussy so that proves it must be good !!

" Well the goods new is that the alchol... "

Well the goods new is that the alchol was the real thing, gin voka lager cocktails and baileys and thats the only good news. the reviews were that the place is tierd looking the sheets were gray and beds not well made the food boring and repetative and very poor entertainment well its all true, just come back on 24th May and can only describe it as Butlins aboard. the location is good with nice shops and our four year old grandaughter could walk to the beach with us which was a man made beach but very nice. we have been going all inclusive now for three year and take our daughter and grandaughter and have always had good food and good entertainment. So we were very very disappointed with this place would never go back. Just thouht the staff were very friendly which helped a bit. the kids entertainment was by two men who done the same thing night after night and there was only two nights were we saw the parrots and a snake man not very good. the other nights was kids running around and causing havoc while parents were in the bar not interested with what they were doing.
The first room we got had no lock on the bathroom door or latch. we had to upgrade which cost another £100.00 per week, the room safe (which was falling apart) cost 20euros no returnable. Weather was great!!
