Kontonis Studios

I have just returned from what was suppose to be a weeks holiday to laganas, we left early due to the filth of these apartments. Everything was wrong with these apartments, when we go there room was very very basic, there was two of us but had 3 beds in our room, the bathroom had no shower curtain, so when u showered all the water went everywhere, hot water was only turned on between 5pm-9pm, and when it was on the water went from cold to warm to scolding and would literally burn you. We were only given 1 toilet roll and it was expected to last us the whole week, and when we did ask for a toilet roll it was like they did not want to give it to us. On the second day that we was there our toilet seat broke and started leaking, and every time you flushed the toilet it would leak all over the bathroom floor. When the cleaner came into our room you could clearly see what had happened but they refused to clean or mop the floor, it was disgusting. Also when the cleaner did change the sheets they were replaced with fag burn sheets, and sheets with stains on them. The whole apartment was disgusting ants everywhere, and so dusty. I would definitely prefer to sleep outside. would not recommend these apartments to anyone.

Best thing about Kontonis is the location. 10 to 15 minute walk from the strip, with cheaper bars along the way. We were a group of 5 girls and although the accommodation is basic, it really is all you need. The beach isnt far either and the local shop is cheap and cheerful. Dont worry about shared pool use, there are 3 directly available with free sunloungers and music.
Takis seemed friendly to us, he had a tough job keeping everyone quiet as obviously there are plenty of groups of teenagers. We got a strict warning one night which was fairly reasonable, but we were free to wander in at sunrise as long as we kept the noise down. He is strict however on bringing people back to the rooms, we saw him hit a few guys with sticks on the legs as they tried to sneak in, but it was in a joking way (I think!) Maid seemed friendly, we had our room cleaned twice, the shower is hand held but you can put up with it for a week, same goes for the basic kitchen. Overall, a fantastic week in zante, I would recommend for oung groups.

just got back from a week holiday in zakinthos,amazing studios, Takis and his family made us feel so welcome. Rooms are basic but very clean Takis wife is a great cook the best food i ever had on holidays and breakfast is just delicious and cheap!BBQ is soooo good, a must for everyone.The beach very close 5 min walkand the strip 15 min.Pools next door but very expensive.Kontonis studios is a lovely place and lovely people, surely going back again.

Very short and sweet review.. i went with 10 girls to zante.. we were very scepticle about the apartments and we were very right to be .. amazing holiday .. amazing nightlife! and amazing atmosphere .. vile hotel .. rude man and he will go in your rooms and not think twice about rooting around in your stuff while your out .. we had NO SHOWER for the whole week and was lucky we were sharing a the holiday with other people so we could shower in there rooms as they refused to fix them ! very dirty.. not impressed for the silly money we paid !
Luckily other aspects made up for the holday !

well first disappointment was getting there on the monday morning and our room wasn't ready after being up many hours and we just wanted to get to our room and it was meant to be our first night (the sunday) even though our flight out wasn't till 12.45am on a monday and our room was meant to be ready from 12 mid day sunday.
when we got into a room which was meant to be getting cleaned while we waited half a hour for it, the sheets had only been changed and washing up was still in the sink, and it looked liked it hadn't been cleaned for a week....my husband went out to get some cleaning stuff and i cleaned it myself..(prob the best clean it's had for years) we went 3 days without toilet rolls and everytime we asked..tomorrow tomorrow, i had to steal it from places just so we had some, in the end my husband got so pi**ed off he went down to danny and said we want a toilet roll and he said we're got none, your have to go to the shop and pay a euro for one, my husband went mad, and he did get one in the end.
our doors to the baloney (room 117) had a pain of glass missing right where the lock was and when the cleaner did come in (which it was only cleaned twice in a week and from the wednesday to a sunday wasn't cleaned at all) kept leaving the shutters open so anyone coulod just get in by putting their hand through.
we never had our sheets changed once in a week.
you could only shower between 5 and 9 at night cos he wouldn't let us have hot water,
the drinks are all watered down, and they hide from you when making cocktails so you can't see what they ARE NOT putting in.
one night we couldn't shower for ages as he couldn't be bothered to get the petrol to boil up the water.
well...........i don't know where this wonderful bbq is cos it was rubbish..over and done with in a hour, one plate of food then it was taken away, mind you all his friends came over and finished it all off what we all paid 10 euro for....oh and 1 shot each, even though it said lots and lots of shots.
there's no air con at this hotel.
we and another couple hired quads and when they were parked up, the next morning we were both on empty even though we both had half a tank in them each.....(we think tacky (yes i said tacky) drained them both)
be warned if you have young children or are very light sleepers do not stay here, between them and a sunset hotel next door the music gets louder and louder at night when you try and sleep, and it goes on till 2ish in the morning.
we had to be out sunday at 12 ?(our flight was the next day at 7.25) and he wanted 10 euro each what a con as we didn't have a room ready on the monday when we got there....instead we hired a car for the day with the money and we kipped in it till we went to the airport, and i must say it was the best sleep we had all week.
this hotel was just out for the money
remember there is no pool at this hotel.
never would i stay here again.

Kantonis apartments were great. We stayed for two weeks and had no problems. Its 2 star apartments, so you can't expect the ritz, but the rooms were spacious enough and we had no complaints with anything. Takis and his family are lovely and a right laugh. The only time Takis isn't lovely, is when you mess about to the ridiculous extent that you damage a lot of property and disturb other residents. He won't take to this kindly..for obvious reasons, which I found quite understandable. But he can still be quite tolerant of a lot its only when hes pushed that he can turn bad. We adored him, he gave us a lot of free shots and makes a mean cocktail!! you have to try it!! Danny is his no.2 and is also a legend :oD.

welll to be honest .. there were 4 of us girls goin .. it was our first girlie holiday and we kinda rushed in to booking .. when we got home we read the reviews and not gonaaa lie .. was a lil scared ... we were expecting a run down little place with a phycso owner .. howver it was completley diffrent when we got there .. the place looks lovely and is well run by takis and his family .. they are a great bunch of people who are lovely and made our stay very enjoyable ..takis only wants respect and if you give it him you will honestly meet one of the funniest people ever .. i did not stop laughinn all holiday at some of his catchphrases ... yeah the roooms are basic but they are definatly not discuisting .. but hey .. you are only stayin in a two star so you cant really expect all luxary .. there are a choice of 3 surrounding pools to go too which is great as you meeet more new people .. i can honestly say that i am so glad i boooked to stay at kontonis apartments as i met some of the most amazing people ever and i cannot wait to go back next year :)

Worst hotel takis is a mug dannys his wannabe gangsta slave. on the positive takises mum is the best cook ever and the bbq is a must. delicious home cooked food cooked slowly with suculent meat. with a 12 euros price tag its a great bargin and made the holiday and the night go smoothly OE. Takis and danny will come in your rooms at night when you are out, as we found out and if your a girl he like a ride with you(on the back of his motorbikr). The rooms are shocking and dont lock properly. Apart from that it was a great holiday but the hotel was shocking with no bed sheets or clean towls!!!!

I stayed in kontonis with 7 other 18 year old girls and I really wouldn't revisit this place after staying here. Zante itself was great, the hotel seemed alright when we first got there it was basic but you can't really expect anything else on a holiday like this. The lack of shower curtain (and anything holding up the shower head) was annoying and so was the lack of air conditioning but the rooms actually didnt overheat too much.
The main problem we had with Takis was his money grabbing attitude. Other reviewers say he respects you and is friendly but only if you spend all your money at the hotel. Every time he saw us eating food that we made ourselves or eating in the pool bar, which was much nicer, he was very hostile towards us and shouted at us for not buying enough food and drink in the hotel. The staff also go in your room whenever they like, people we were staying with said they would be asleep in bed when one of the staff would come into their room and start rifling through their things. I think money went missing from under my pillow too.
One of the most annoying things was when we were forced to hand over 4 of our passports for the whole week where they sat in an unmanned reception so anyone could have walked in and taken them. On the last day when we went to collect them there were only 3 and whilst we all panicked it turned out they had hidden one for fun, not our kind of joke.
The worst behaviour was while we were waiting to get the coach back to the airport at about 3 am and Takis runs outside slaps one of the boys who was leaving with us, phoned the police and when they arrived made the police force the boys to hand over 100 euros in damages which was for something like the leg of a plastic chair or something equally ridiculous.
He may be nice to some people but to us he was pushy and threatening and needs to sort out his attitude.

I dont know why some of these reviews are so bad, iv just come back and i thought it was amazing!! There was 6 of us in total and Takis made us feel really welcome! He had a laugh with us and made our stay really fun ! The apartments were not as bad as I thought they would be, its kind of like uni halls so its full of young people. The only fault is the air con it was soooo hot !
The apartments though are nice and there are three pools to choose from surrounding the apartments each one is really nice, i prefered the pool to the beach (which is only 2 mins away).
Its a nice walk to the strip aswell, full of little bars (to warm you up for the big one!)
I would definately recommend Kontonis! Forget all the other reviews, i wouldnt stay somewhere like they described.
