I enjoyed my stay here very much. Apartments were clean and linen, towels were changed often. The family Toula,Evi were really nice people. I am 54, my husband 55.

Yes, we had young people around us but this was not a problem as they were out at night, getting home in the morning then sleeping most of the day. The family were good with the young people and had a way of bringing everyone of all ages together, especially on their greek night, the food was excellent.

I would go back here and I would take my daughters and husbands and grandchildren as there is something for everyone here in Laganas. We were out a lot as we hired a scooter and toured the beautiful island. The food in Zante is exceptionally good, and caters for all tastes.

I found it fun sitting in restaurants watching the young people going out clubbing in their finary or fancy dress, having a good time. We like the greek philosophy, there are no strangers only friends you have never met yet. The weather was scorching for the whole two weeks, when out on the scooter it was like driving through a hot hair drier.

Go to Zante and embrace the greek way of life but beware of the pavements. I have never seen so many broken legs and arms going home on a plane.

I would not hesitate to book the Yakinthos apartments again.

We were a party of 3 19 year old girls and visited Zakinthos in the last week in August 2007 and arrived in a heat wave of 38 degrees which was great!

We were shown to our room and were impressed; we had a 2 bedroom studio with a huge balcony because we were at the front. The inside was adequate for our needs as we just needed somewhere to sleep and get changed. The kitchen facilities were suitable but basic.

The only thing we would have liked was a toaster but there is a kettle, fridge, and stove. Most days we ate lunch from the pool bar which offered a good selection at a reasonable price. We got air conditioning which was a bit pricey because we got it in both bedrooms but only slept in one. We also got a safety deposit box which we recommend for peace of mind.

The cleaners came in twice during our week stay to change the bed and sweep up which was fine for us. But they changed the bins more often.

The pool area is very nice and sun loungers are free and always available so there is no need to get up early and have to fight for one. The pool was abit grimy when we arrived and so a few of the guests got onto the rep and it was cleaned straight away.

The bar served excellent cocktails and other drinks and Alex the barman was really friendly. The Greek night is a must and for the money you get free drinks and bbq food which is delish. Alex entertains with fire blowing and Greek dancing.

There was a range of people staying with a few young families although during the summer season it is probably not the best place for families.

The supermarket was 2 mins down the road and had everything we needed as well as some bits and bobs that will do for last minute prezies. The taxi rank was outside the supermarket and the fare into town is set at 5 Euros but it is in walking distance from the hotel taking about 15-20 mins.

There is a restaurant near the hotel but in town there is everything you could want. On average a drink, bread and main meal cost about 10 Euros each and most places give you free shots.

The bars are great and there are loads of offers on drinks so a night out is fab and cheap. We went on the booze cruise organised through the rep and was great. There were loads of trips available including ones for families so there was plenty to do. Olympic looked after us well and we had no problems during our journeys.

Overall the holiday was fantastic and we met some lovely people and have fab memories of our time in Laganas.

So much for friendly staff... the only nice one there was Alex and the bar staff. Several things were drastically wrong with these apartments. On our second day in Yakinthos, our safety deposit key was jammed in the lock, and we were left and told us that we would have to pay for the safe, she didn't even attempt to get our stuff out. So we had no money and no passports for a few hours, until someone finally helped us, unwillingly.

They also have an angry security guard, who was violent towards some guests during our stay, as well as people becoming ill from the food and being disturbed by the barking dogs. Khula also woke us up in the middle of the night once to shout at us because our chairs and ashtray were smashed by other guests. We had to pay for these or she threatened to remove us from the hotel.

Apart from Khula, the greek BBQ was great, Alex and the other guests were great as well.

Prior to going I had read a number of adverse comments relating to these apartments, and I am pleased to give a very good report on this accommodation. Yes during the high season this resort is for the under 25's and I suspect adverse comments are mainly related to these holiday makers not respecting the general good manners that should apply.

The hotel appears relatively new and the quality of the apartment and content were very good. The pool area has sufficient sun beds, adjacent to the bar and outside seating area.

The owners family and staff (particularly 'lovely boy' Alex) are friendly and very helpful. The menu does not cater for full evening meals but has a good selection of snacks. Prices are reasonable and quality is good.

The location is as described by the tour operator - on the outskirts, 15mins walk to the main ' drag' and another 15mins to the beach. It is a straight level road but is also the main access to the resort. It therefore may be busy and care must be taken.

There is a well stocked supermarket adjacent and a small number of restaurants nearby. A taxi rank, bus stop and public telephone is situated by the supermarket.

In conclusion, a very good establishment, with the only possible drawback being the location (although this may be welcome during the high season).

The resort lack character, and is geared towards the 18/30 age group. The centre contains numerous bars, clubs etc. Pricing is competitive but so is quality. We like the more traditional Greek food and mainly used restaurants on the Kalamaki road (turn left at the junction with "Subway" on the corner). English breakfast and other food is readily available if required. The beach is good.

There are plenty of hire cars and roads are reasonable, but lack adequate direction signs. By far the best view is the shipwreck beach (only accessible by boat). I did not realise just how high the viewing platform was!.

To the east of Laganas is Kalamaki - a smaller resort for families with a very good beach. Zante town is the commercial centre - nice church/monastery but busy and little else.

Argassi is family oriented but the beach is poor. Along the promentory there is a series of small villages with reasonable/good beach areas. Gerakas at the end has probably the best beach. All beaches in the Laganas Bay are protected for the benefit of the turtles - the turtles sensibly give Laganas beach a miss.

The apartment was gorgeous very clean and spacious - with two bedrooms separate to kitchen area, and a bathroom with a bath. Very unusual for Greek accommodation. Large, clean pool - unheated though.

It’s only a about a 35 minute walk from the main strip. Hotel owners hold weekly BBQ with Greek dancing and fire breathing. A little disappointed with the evening though, probably cos we wanted to join younger crowds in bars.

There was a good mixture of young people and families at the apartments.

We also suffered an Earthquake whilst staying in the apartment - 6.2 on Richter scale I think - very frightening. However the staff evacuated the guests from the building quickly and safely.

Hi Khula, Peter, Alex and co; its Richard known to you as Eminem.

I had a wonderful time there, I was very pleased with the friendliness off the staff and the cleanliness of the apartments. They had great entertainment going on, Alex is the best barman I have ever seen (he is the best Alex we love you). The supermarket was only 1 minute walk from the hotel the beaches was wonderful and the night-life was excellent it was only a short walk or talk ride away.

Hope to see you all again soon, see you summer 2008 all the best and thanks for a wonderful holiday lots of love from Richard xxxxxxxx

Yakinthos apartments is situated on a busy main road. I did not find the owners to be very friendly or accommodating. I had to pay extra for air conditioning and when I left it on so that the apartment would be cool when I returned they confiscated it!

Seems that although you have to pay extra for it, you can only use it when they say so!!

In Greece you are not allowed to flush toilet paper down the toilet so it has to go in the waste bin in the bathroom. One day the cleaners did not empty my bin so I asked the owner if she would empty it for me and she said No, it could wait till morning when the cleaners were next in!! (Didn’t smell to good by then in that heat either).

The rooms were not cleaned to a very high standard (my partner wrote the name of his fav football team in the steam on the mirror and it was still there at the end of the week, plus a build up of toothpaste on the taps and coffee spillage on the floors that were not mopped) and the bed sheets were only changed once during our week there. There were also a lot of guests (myself and my partner included) who were ill whilst staying here. We spoke to 3 other couples all with the same symptoms.

Positives (yes there are some!) the staff who worked behind the bar were all great and created a really nice atmosphere in the evenings.

Another thing I liked was the convenience of the supermarket/taxi rank/bus stop (all in one) that was right next door. For 6 Euros the taxi will take you straight down to the beach (you can walk, it's just a straight road, but it's a long one!). The supermarket seemed to be open whatever time you went there (not sure if it might even be a 24hr one).

I would not stay in this hotel again, but my partner says he has stayed in worse places!! (Glad I wasn’t with him back then!!).

These apartments are great! Really spacious and really clean!

The staff are all fabulous - the owners Khula and Peter, and their daughters run the place and nothing was too much bother for them. Just ask and it will be done.

When we arrived at 1am Khula was waiting to show us to our rooms. She even introduced herself and had learnt all of our names by morning!

The pool was beautiful and although these apartments are close to the main road there is hardly any noise.

The apartments are located at the end of the strip and are in a quiet location. The main strip and beach is about a 10 minute walk away or a 3euro taxi ride. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and some great bars.

The taxi rank is next door to the supermarket which is next to the apartments. The nearest bus stop is right outside the supermarket so everything is in easy access.

The food served at the apartments was fantastic and the nightly entertainment also fab. Watch out for Alex the greatest barman in the world and his flaming bar trick! If you create a cocktail he will put it on his menu!

I recommend the weekly Greek Night at the apartments as it includes a BBQ including traditional Greek foods, free wine and a flaming bar stunt by Alex!

Beware though when the Music starts Khula and Alex will have everybody taking part with no exceptions! (They had a guy on crutches taking part when we were there!)

These apartments are great for people wanting apartments in a quiet location but with the lively nightlife and stunning beach just a short walk away. You really feel like you're taken into the family at the Yakinthos.

Hello to Khula, Peter, Alex and the girls - missing you all!
