We arrived 4hrs later in Zante due to the incompetance of our chosen airline Strategic, upon arrival early hrs Mon morning we were greeted by the owners with just a grunt and also had to wake the old boy up!! not good first impression. Then there was the interesting trip to our room with constent greek talk up and down corridors ref rooms.
Well what can i say pretty much the same as my good friend Kim has highlighted the poole was green the staff extremly weird and very unfriendly, and i quite agree Kim the rating in my opinion should be 2* would definatly not reccomend to anyone.
Apart from all the negatives it was a very lovely location especially if u like the beach as it was only a stones throw away and the staff down the beach bar were lovely and made you feel very wellcome.

Whlst i can accept basic, i cannot accept basic and filthy.
We had previous occupiers hair and toenails over our floor on arrival.
We arrived in early hours on Monday - our bedding and towels were changed on Tuesday and that was it.
We could not use the pool - it was green - didn't see the usual daily clean of the pool ever - it was disgusting
When i complained to the rep - there was a queue of people complaining and I understand Olympic were moving people from there in June.
And as for the staff - they don't portray the usualy friendly greek people. They were totally ignorant. And the bar and food area were filthy - I wouldn't eat there if you paid me.
I don't really understand why Olympic have given it a 2*+ and are happy to have their name on it - i can only assume it is a misprint.

Ok, it was a last minute cheapie, but this hotel is basic (as described) basic basic and grubby!! Arrived Sunday night(Strategic flight delayed again)at 01:30 in the mornng, the bar was still open, but no smiley welcome from this Greek family, we were almost ignored. When they say basic, they mean basic, a few bits of crockery etc.
The bathroom was grubby, toilet pan brown from lack of seeing any bleach ever. Nice mirror with a layer of grime on the top, hadn't been wiped all season I suspect. Shower curtain grubby.
Ok, first impression wasn't good. In the morning we looked around the pool area, my wife said the water was green, but I convinced myself it was the reflection of the big plant next to it and swam. It wasn't the reflection, and reflection doesn't make the water cloudy. Give them their due, they did close the pool for the next day to pour loads of chemicals in and clean the grrn stuff from round the edges.
During the week we stayed, they changed the sheets and towell on the Tuesday and then never again. Replaced toilet paper once, moved the dirt from one part of the floor to another..still no bleach in the toilet.
We spent very little time in these apartments, as the Beach Bar just next door have a lovely pool and do some good food.
Olympic would be advised to cancel their contract with this place.
On a positive note it is far enough away from the strip to avoid being bothered too much by drunken idiots and the beach nearby is great.

Recently stayed at the Davina Studio's & what a great bunch of people we met there. The staff were great too, friendly, very near to the beach & near to local restaurants. Took about 10 mins to walk to the main strip, taxis were approx 7 euro's. Could do to change linen/towels more frequently though - the major downfall was the airline we used 'Strategic' absolutely shocking, also 'Olympic Holidays' weren't very good either...we flew midnight & only arrived 7am the following morning so really we shouldn't have been made to leave our accomodation the day before. When we questioned the reps all they said was 'it doesn't matter you flew at night that was your first night of the holiday'- never gonna use them again.

Excellent Hospitality

The majority of reviews for this hotel are positive, however there appears to be few up to date reviews. This review is based on 2011.
As a group we expected very little from the hotel, so on arrival were extremely pleased with the first impression of the hotel. There is a nice pool with a good pool bar. The pool is very clean and there are lots of sunbeds and parasols for use. The pool therefore, is excellent.
The pool bar is also good. They provide food at good (but not cheap) prices. For example, a full English was 5.50 euros. The quality of the food wasn't excellent, but for the price and the convenience we were all very pleased with the food provided. We ordered food on a daily basis.
Drinks at the bar were expensive, however, with beers ranging from 3-4 euro's. However, in the evening they run a 'happy hour (or four hours), were two cocktails can be purchased for 5 euro's - very reasonable. This was the perfect opportunity for socialising before hitting the strip.
The room quality was good. They were spacious with a balcony. The rooms had two beds which were comfy enough, a wardrobe, a desk and mirror and a kitchenette. We cooked pasta on the hob rings, which were fine. The kicthen, however is not suitable to create large meals as utensils are sparce. The bathrooms were good with nice, powerful showers. They looked clean and no mold was evident. Cleaners came every two days at about 11am so be prepared for an early knock on the door after an evening out.
In the evening the rooms are very hot, however. Fans can be rented for $15 a week, but they are not great. I would recommend renting two, one for each person. In most rooms (but not all) air conditioning is not available.
The staff were excellent. There were two english speaking staff - the daughter and one of the cleaners. They both spoke English well so this was helpful. The two owners spoke little English. However, all the staff were very helpful and strived to give us a good stay. They were very welcoming and the owner gave us free shots during happy hour on our first night as a welcome. They always greeted us with a smile.
The location of the hotel from the main strip is good. We were worried it would take half an hour, but in reality it took only 10 minutes to reach the end of the strip. You can either walk the country road to the strip (which seemed safe in a group at night) or you could cut through to the beach in two minutes through Oasis bar. There was a little shop called Zeus a 5 minutes walk away that provided essentials such as drinks, sanswhiches etc.
Overall, we had a great stay. However OUR GROUP CONSISTED OF 6 BOYS AGED 18. Everyone in the hotel, bar one family was of a similar age. Even though the hotel itself would accommodate families I would not recommend coming here with a family or for people older than 35. I only say this because they would probably feel out of place. If you are aged 18-30 and are looking to hit the strip - this is the perfect hotel for you.

  • Holiday Date:Jul 2011
  • Advice: Look at a map when you arrive to work out the quickest route to the strip - do not rely on the one from Olympic.

Came to Divina Studios at the end of september, upon arriving we couldnt see whereabouts we were and thought it was in the middle of nowhere but when the sun came up and we explored, the Divina is in a brilliant location for everywhere. Takes a 15-20 minute walk to get to Laganas strip, or was 7 euros in a taxi and is a 2 minute walk to the beach (use the cut-through at the right side of the hotel, through the Oasis beach bar). Takes a 10-15 minute walk to Agios Sostis if you walk along the beach front, about 30 minutes if you use the road. During our stay the weather was not brilliant everyday but was always hot. Some days just cloudy and a few nights there were storms so be prepared for this type of change in weather. The first couple of days and the last day however were roasting hot with no clouds in the sky. The apartments in the first block are very basic, only a fridge, kettle, hob and some utensils for the kitchen and a very basic bathroom but is always clean. No air-con in this block either but a second block is just behind which does have air-con, fan hire cost us 15 euros for a week and this was okay for us. Be prepared also to get a twin room instead of a double, this is quite common in Greece, we just had to push the beds together. Cleaners came around every other day, which could have been a little more as bins were only small so got full quickly, but there was a large bin at the end of the corridor if you needed it. The owners and bar staff couldn't have been more helpful, the owner and his son dont understand much English but are cheery once you get to know them and Leo the barman will do anything and everything he can for you. One night there was a bad storm and instead of us getting a taxi he even drove us into Laganas! A real trooper, he also cooked meals for us because the chef had a motorbike accident and a girl covering only worked until 2pm. The pool was clear, clean, and usually quite cool which was nice when it was hot.
The resort of Laganas was also a nice surprise, lots of touts trying to get you into bars/beach bars/tavernas but if you are polite and kindly decline they will not be nasty. The beach is long and stays shallow very far out, which is good for families and in September wasn't busy with lots and lots of young parties, was more young couples like ourselves.
Overall a brilliant holiday, completely enjoyed ourselves and didnt want to come home!!

Just returned from Divina and we wanted to let anyone going that it is a great place to base a holiday in
Laganas. The apartments are small and basic but are clean and have a fridge and some coooking utensils.
Do take the air con as it is really hot and you will have a good nights sleep with it on. The people who run the hotel are really nice and the barman Leo and the cleaners will do everything to make your stay a good one. The pool is a good size and clean and there are shops and restaurants a short walk away.Do try La Marinara restaurant as the food is lovely.

by far the worst place I have ever stayed in in my life. Not for the facilities or the state of the building but simply the management, owners and workers in general. I stayed there in july 2010 aparently under new management and have never met so hostile unhelpful hoteliers. There only solution to any of our problems was violence, quite literally. Two of us where 'swung' for whilst one was actually hit by the cleaner several times when she returned his money after 'accepting it as a tip' which by no means was the case. If you are ever thinking of visiting zante in particular laganas and want to be able to relax and enjoy yourself 24/7 steer well clear of divina.

Haven't got a bad thing to say about this hotel, the divina hotel is a great location for a holiday in laganas, rooms are basic but very clean, air con is a must, then there's the pool bar, ran by maria an spiros, you couldn't wish to meet a nicer couple than these two, they made us feel welcome from the very first minute we arrived and made our holiday the best holiday we've ever had, definitely goin back next year and we cant wait!

Had an excellent time at Divina! Maria and Spiros were brilliant and they were so helpful and friendly. The rooms were basic, but who needs anything special. Nice views and a short walk onto the beach and to the main strip. Personally, i don't think the owners were too strict with drunk people, they always let us stay in on a night... they were great really. Were planning to go back in September we liked it that much. Great place, great people, great place, great holiday!!!! Loved IT!
