Dolphin Bay Hotel

We booked in for five nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Warm welcome, friendly staff, excellent amenities. Pool was huge and never too busy, plenty of sun loungers and shades. Room was basic but cleaned daily. Our room was right at the top of the cliff - fantastic views - but with two on-site elevators it was easy to get up there, even with a pram! I stayed with my mum and my sister June 2009. The hotel is located in a hill right above a nice crystal quiet beach. It is cinsisted of seperate buildings and we had a beautiful room with a veranda facing a beautiful peaceful view of the beach and the village of Galissas. Be careful because many rooms have the view of the front building and nothing more. It's expensive for what it is, the rooms are basic, we spent a couple of hours with no hot water, having breakfast reminded me of queueing in the school canteen, the staff weren't very helpful, and there's not much to do in the local area. Saying that, the pool's really good!

We went to Syros with Olympic Holidays and stayed in Galissas in September 2006. We like quiet holidays and this suited us except that the resort was closing down for the winter when we arrived on the 15th of September and the entire beach had been cleared of shades and beds a few days before we left on the 30th! We had a great holiday at the Dolphin Bay. However, some people were not happy with their rooms because of a lack of a decent view, but they were changed within a day or so. The problem is that the hotel consists of a series of separate blocks built into a hillside in tiers. This means that some rooms only have a view of the rear of the building in front whilst others have an uniterrupted sea view over the bay. After franticly looking all over the internet for a decent hotel in Syros, Greece I decided on the Dolphin Bay Hotel in Gallysas Syros. We had planned to stay for 9 nights taking two rooms with a sea view priced at Euro 140 a night. While from the exterior the hotel looks ok and the lobby is fine and while it does have decent views if you get a room with a sea view the whole set up is a classic Greek myth.
