Marriott Cap D ail Hotel

Stayed 3 nights for a business meeting. Location is really really good, right on the harbor front of a small marina. Overall, the ambition level seems very high when it comes to providing top notch service, but there are some fundamentals lacking. I would recommend to lower these ambitions and to deliver on all promises. As an example, I wanted to take a taxi one evening down to the casino (about 3 km away). My husband and I stayed here for only one night in September to get a flavor for Monaco on our way to Italy. We got off to a bad start because the place is IMPOSSIBLE to find, and we are typically good with directions. Streets in the area are not clearly marked. There are small signs for the Marriott, but you have to be on your feet, because they are hard to see. We missed one and ended up in the heart of a Monte Carlo traffic jam during the yacht show. For the price I felt the room and facilities were mediocre. We stayed 3 nights and at $315 Euros per night I expected this Marriott to be one of the best. Their directions from their website from Italy are terrible...Do Not use them; look at a map and try to figure it out yourself. The signs are not great either so you'll probably have to stop at the Columbus Hotel to get directions. We stayed in a junior suite for 12 days 5th August through to 17th Overall we found this hotel to be excellent and exactly what other reviewers have experienced. We would visit again. There was a large group staying who had badly behaved children (for the duration of the 12 days!) and that was quite hard work to deal with as the hotel were really unable/reluctant to do anything about it.
