BEWARE those going to these villas they are still building the other 5 villas (right next to these) as we speak!! What a shame as the villas are situated in a perfect position at the top of a steep hill with beautiful views out to sea. We have just returned from a 2 week holiday and awoke to building noise every morning from 6:30am onwards. We had not been informed of any building work when we booked the holiday with "Olympic" , it is described in the brochure as a private estate of 11 villas.
Sivota is beautiful and it didn't spoil our holiday but our vision of lazying around the pool wasn't quite how we had imagined its hard to relax listening to constant banging and comings and goings of heavy machinery. When we left there was still a lot of work to be done and the entrance to the villas was a building site. On several occasions we could not get up the drive as lorries or tipper trucks blocked our way.
Despite this the villas are lovely, very clean and well furnished and equipped. If you book the Raphaella it has a washing machine and i would say this villa has the best position and views. The cove at the end of the path is a stones throw from the villas and often empty. But you will need the car to visit the other coves and beaches.
Don't worry about buying essentials the supermarkets are very well stocked and there are a good range of shops for such a little resort. The best tip would be to hire a boat as we did, it was fantastic as you can visit all the coves and beaches as some are only reachable by boat and you had them to yourself. It was 60 euros for the day that included fuel and we had it from 10 till 6, well worth it for the views, peace and beautiful clear sea for swimming off the boat.
The beaches themselves are very stoney and shingly so no sand castle building much to the disappointment of our four year old daughter. but all the beaches have lovely views of the little islands of sivota and warm gentle waters great for swimming.
Its worth visiting Parga best to go at night as so hot in the day and the views from the castle are very pretty at night. We didn't go the Metora in the mountains but others did and said it was spectacular and had to be seen.
We had never been to mainland greece before and had always favored the smaller islands, but we found the people and the place very welcoming and relaxing not too touristy. We would go again and would return to the villas but only when the others are finished !!!
