We went here in a large party of 10. Ages ranging from 3 to 75 and I can say that we all enjoyed it. It is right on the beach. Has a lovely pool including kids area. A childs playground. A supermarket on site which was cheaper than those in town. Nice bar and restaurant. Appartments are basic but lovely and cleaned everyday. Just a short walk to the main town which is lovely. Not too busy but still has lots of lovely places to eat. The staff are lovely and ever so helpful. Kiero was very friendly and helpful and ever so good with the kids. We are already planning our return next year.

We have visited Palm Bay now 5 times and are going back for the 6th visit with our 2 girls. Set just on the outskirts of Pefkos it is ideal for a quiet relaxing holiday with Pefkos itself only a 10 minute walk away if you want to experience something a bit more lively. The rooms are adequate and clean (cleaners came in daily to empty bins, sweep floor, towels and sheets changed every third day), the staff are very friendly especially Mikalis the Manager. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced as is the onsite supermarket. The thing that appeals to us most is the fact that the beach is a few steps away from the pool area offering the best of both worlds for our family. As mentioned in previous reviews, there are no sunbeds on this part of the beach but the Plakia and main beaches offer plenty. Being on the beach also means you have an excellent view of the bay whilst sunbathing by the pool, having a meal or enjoying a quiet drink at the hotel bar. The bus stop is on the doorstep with access to the island's tourist spots with Lindos being just a 5 minute journey away and offering some of the most stunning views in Greece. The hotel also has internet access, pool tables, air hockey and numerous tv's around the bar area. A trip to the waterpark in Faliraki is a must!
- Advice: Very laid back and relaxing!

My boyfriend and I had the most fantastic holiday at the Palm Bay Hotel and Apartments. The apartment was basic but clean. The rooms were cleaned everyday apart from one throughout our 2 week stay, and we had clean towels and sheets every 3rd day. The bed was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well and could be switched to "low noise" overnight, so it did not disturb us at all.
We had to remember not to leave anything sticky around the sink, such as glasses of orange juice not washed up, or ants could be a problem - we only did this once! We didn't have any further problems with ants, although one other couple had to move room after an infestation of ants.
The views of the bay from our terrace were fabulous. The staff at the bar were super friendly and helpful, as were the ladies who cleaned our room. The pool is amazing and the beach just below the pool is ok. There are no sunbeds/parasol on this beach and there are very large rocks as you go into the sea, which I didn't like. However, 5 minutes down the road (heading towards Pefkos) there is another beach which is much more sandy. No big rocks into the sea either. The cafe at this beach is really reasonable for snacks too.
The Palm Bay bar/restaurant serves lovely snacks and I would especially recommend their omelettes. Their evening meals are also lovely and more reasonably priced than the restaurants in Pefkos itself.
The short 10 minutes walk into Pefkos is no problem, but easier to do at night as it is far too hot to walk there during the day. There is a huge choice of bars and restaurants in Pefkos and every meal we had was lovely and tasty. The price varied between 45 and 65 euros for a meal, including starters, main meal and bottle or carafe of wine and coffees for two people.
We self catered a 3 or 4 times over the 2 weeks and all the kitchen utensils etc. are more than adequate. It was fun to not only eat out every night.
Our only complaints: The fridge buzzed a bit at night and occasionally kept us awake, but we found out on penultimate day that we could turn down the thermostat at the back of the cupboard next to the fridge and the noise from the fridge became scarcely noticeable. Also, the cost of the air conditioning (which was vital!) was disappointingly high (91 euros for 2 weeks).
I would love to go back - fantastic holiday, people and resort. An absolute must is ancient Kamiros, our favourite place to visit. Lindos is also amazing. The Valley of the Butterflies was not my cup of tea (one type of brown butterfly - not the colourful display of butterflies I hoped for - but my boyfriend loved it.
GO TO PALM BAY HOTEL AND APARTMENTS ... IT IS GREAT.

Like others & having read a mixture of reviews we have just returned and can honestly say the Palm Bay Studios offer a great value for money holiday! We arrived at 6.30am to be shown to our beach facing studio, beautiful! My negative would be the shower room - could do with being updated but powerful shower, hot water...what more do you need?! Kitchen was enough to make rolls at lunchtime and some breakfast. Cleaner came 6 out of 7 days, emptied bins, swept floor etc, bed linen changed once but I don't change mine twice a week at home!! Yes they are basic (no toaster) but staff all very friendly, lots of sun loungers, pool area never felt crowded, not many children and that was half term week. We only ate there a couple of times food was nice - cocktails good tho :-)
Pefkos Town is approx 10 mins walk away along the main road....street lights do go out sometimes so we should have taken a torch. Had lovely meal in Artemis and good value for money in Zorbas - three courses for 8 euros. Day trip to Lindos is a must do, was a bit disappointed with Rhodes old town after taking 2 hours to get there. Waterpark in Falaraki worth a visit (adults AND children!) - didn't see much of my 13 yr old except for feeding times! All in all a great holiday.....would return - just remember you are paying for 2/3* accommodation!
- Advice: Great value holiday!

Where do I start?
The appartments were very basic with a fridge, 2 cooker rings & a kettle. The bathroom was very small with a toilet, sink & shower that was really no use at all as it sprayed every where, but on you.
There was mouse droppings on the floor and in some of the wordrobe doors with a lot of flies in the apartment which you expect a few abroad, but not this many, the open pipe in the bathroom may have been the entry point & Not to mention the size of the spider that lived behind the air conditioning that i had to stab with a fork just to get hold of it (photo added).
The electrics ran on a key ring which was pointless because anything you had in the fridge would go off if you were out of your apartment all day or a number of hours.
The beach view (If you can call it a beach) was not as nice as it sounds, there was a grass verge or should i say straw, twiggs & thistles leading down to a beach that was all little stones that hurt your feet & the amount of trash on there was disgusting, large items too not just rubbish.
The food was not very good, the Wife had scrambled eggs on our first morning & it came freezing cold, she sent it back & they must have put it in the microwave for 10 seconds as it came back the same, finally the 3rd time it came back it was luke warm, but we really could not be bothered so just didn't bother eating there again we ate & spent all our time next door at Coralli apartments where the staff, food, drinks, pool & everything else was far superior.
The pool at Palm Bay was quite a nice pool that is why i submit a 2, but the Coralli one was better for families.
Palm Bay advertises as a family hotel, but to be truthful as the family apartments face the sea you would expect better security for toddlers to stop them running down to the sea, but there isn't so you can't relax with the door open & let them run around it just is not safe.

We had never been to a Greek Island before do did not know what to expect. Was a last minute booking. The apartments were perfectly adequate, with a little updating they would be superb. The pool was lovely and we enjoyed snack meals in the restaurant. Within walking distance of Pefkos, which was lovely, especially at night. Eat most nights in the Romeleul? restaurant E7.50 for three courses - excellent value. We hired a scooter for three days and did a complete tour of the island which was great. Especially the little cafe at the top of the mountain.
Only downside was having a late night flight home. We paid extra to the manager to keep the room until 7 which meant we were able to have a shower and freshen up before departing.
The Cosmos rep didn't leave departure details readily available and we had to guess about the pick up. Found the details in a folder on the bar - not a brilliant idea. Didn't really see much of her.
All in all a brilliant holiday, lovely weather, good apartment and would definitely return again.
- Advice: An absolutely lovely little town with good restaurants and in a very good location.
- Activities: Lindos and the Acropolis, and the Old Town of Rhodes.

Add me to the list of people confused by negative reviews.
This is a great place to stay. A 10 minute stroll from the centre of Pefkos. A Bus Stop directly outside the apartments. A supermarket directly outside the apartments. Spacious room, large pool, free sun loungers & parasols, the beach is quite literally on your doorstep, room cleaned daily, linen changed twice a week, friendly pool bar and restaurant. This is my 3rd stay in Pefkos and each time Ive stayed in a different part of Pefkos. This was the best location, not to close to the centre but also not too far away.
The apartments are self catering but B&B is available, it depends on the tour operator you use.
Palm Bay was advertised as a 2 star accommodation and overall it is a very good 2 star. I chose this complex as I was on a tight budget and I got very good value for money. I would recommend these apartments.

I cannot imagine how anyone could complain about this holiday, it was perfect. We were met on arrival and taken immediately to our room, which was clean and and well equipped (even a kettle!). The view was beautiful, mountains behind us and the sea directly in front, lovely to sit outside on the balcony in the evening. The facilities are great. The pool was spottlessly clean at all times. The pool area has fabric sunbeds (not the uncomfortable plastic broken things normally found), plenty of sunshades if you want them! The pool is sectioned off for children and there is a play area for kids as well. Also there is direct access to the beach. The menu is excellent with plenty of choice for every taste, and was cooked brilliantly. We ate there almost every night as there seemed no point in going elsewhere as there is everything you need on site, even a supermarket.
The rooms were cleaned almost every day (There was one day that they were not in two weeks). All the staff very freindly and helpful. There is internet access in the bar and a massage chair if you feel like using it. If you wanted to get out and about there are busses stopping directly in front of the apartments or car hire is available. The town of Pefkos is an easy 10 min walk away, no hills or any nasty stuff. Our Olympic rep was frequently on site if there were problems (we didn't have any)or for general advice. I will probably be going back next year which is something I have never considered before as I like to see different places but this holiday was absolutely wonderful and very relaxing. Perfect in every way!

I find it hard to believe that the poor review by someone who stayed B&B here is actually about this wonderful place. As far as I am aware, self-catering is the only option. Nothing in the review seemed to fit the Palm Bay. There is a similar sounding place in Pefkos & I wonder if there has been a mix-up?
We stayed here and had such a great week we are going back and have booked it already.
The owner Michalis is the nicest man you can meet and so very helpful. I have never ever seen him aggressive and we have known him from the bar before we stayed there. We found him very polite, very friendly/
As for food, the food we had was great. We bought breakfast there every day & it was plentiful. We ate there only one evening (the last day) because we make it a rule to eat in a different place in Pefkos every night - but the food was as good as any we had eaten all week, if not the best.
Can't fault the place....it isn't luxury but we didn't book for luxury as we didn't intend to be in the room much. We book self-catering for the flexibility of eating when we like but we don't self-cater! Only for a few brews anyway! We had more than a lot of other self-catering places - a kettle for one thing!
The room was cleaned thoroughly each day except Sunday & the pool was absolutely clear....cleaned daily. The pool is a good size too. Everything was spotless.
A quiet beach was right behind the pool area, ideal.
The bus stop is right outside the property.
There is a nearby beach (Plakia) with sunloungers & a Kantina & it is only a short stroll along the road or along the quiet beach from behind Palm Bay.
The stroll to the main part of Pefkos is 10-15 minutes depending on speed you go at....in the 35 degrees or so we went a bit slower than at night! Obviously we didn't find it any trouble as we did the journey there and back at least once in the daytime & often twice, occasionally 3 times & we did it every night except the last one. It is a walk on the flat although the footpath is unmade & just ground at some points.
Giovani the barman is always entertaining & friendly.....'looking for losers' to play pool.
They have their own shop across the road from the pool, bar & taverna & it was well stocked.
Going back & sooooooooooooo looking forward to it.

This has to be one of the best holidays I have had, and I have had a few in my time!
We were really worried before going as there were some terrible reviews on here. But when we got there, we were pleasantly surprised.
The studio was basic, but we were expecting that. It was clean and our ashtray was emptied everyday.
The food was ok, but the restaurant next door was excellent.
Pefkos Town is only 10 minutes walk away and the night life is good there. I would highly recommend Enigma for food (not the white wine though) and Pefkos By Night is good for a few drinks and a game of pool.
Giovanni was hilarious (POWER!) and always willing to entertain.
The only negative of the whole thing, was flying Excel Airways and not being able to find a Rep anywhere. We ended up talking to the Olympic Rep who was more than happy to fill us in on what was happening.
This is a holiday where you get what you pay for. Do not go expecting a four star resort.
All in all, I will definitely be going back again and recommending it to my friends.

Despite reading all the holiday horror reviews, this was one of the best holidays I have had in a long while.
We booked with Libra holidays only to find that when we arrived in Rhodes airport Libra holidays had gone bust and we hardly saw a rep all week.
The Hotel
The rooms were basic but clean and the staff were always very friendly The food and drinks were reasonably priced and we were always allowed to leave a tab open. The atmosphere was very friendly and despite reviews that the owner was a monster, he was extremely helpful and very understanding when out flight operator went bust.... XL Airways. He let us stay in the room indefinitely for the remainder of the time we were stuck out there free or charge (which we didn't use as Thomas Cook came and picked us up). Also Giovanni in the bar is a little crazy and extremely nice but you get used to his shouting and singing
Pefkos
The hotel is situated about 10 mins walk to the town, which had numerous bars and restaurants and any food you wanted. The nicest food was the Corelli, next door from Palm Bay.
There is only 1 negative on this experience and that was that was flying with XL
All in all this was a superb holiday and I would definitely stay here again

i would not advise staying in palm bay studios because...
.in the bathroom the water from the toilet came up, the shower leeked so there would be a big puddle in the pool and the shower sprayed every were so you had to hold on to it.
.the aircon had wires sticking out and was VERY exspensive.
.around the pool they had broken tiles- some even sticking up! the aircon was leeking into the pool which made my antie slip and bruise her elbow and hurt her back. the sunbeds were broken so you nearly fell through some of them but other than that the pool was nice.
.the pan on the 2 hobs fell into the sink when you used it.
.the fridge had rust inside on the racks. VERY bad rust.
but on a whole we still had a great holiday, the cleaners and staff were lovely.
a word of advice if you ignore my feedback is becareful on the steps they are very slippy.
p.s. i dont have a clue were you lot stayed because it certaintly was were i stayed?!
