Just back from a week at the Avra Apartments. You cannot beat the location if you are looking to be near to the beach, it is right on your doorstep. The apartments are basic but mine was clean and spacious. Stayed in Block B room 2, which was on the ground floor and unfortunately had no view, but did have a shared terrace area to sit outside. The room was cleaned every day if required and sheets and towels changed every couple of days. Although my room was clean, I did meet some people who were faced with a dirty room when they arrived and nothing could be done as it was 3am!
The rooms are very different and I was lucky enough to have a spacious room with 3 beds and kitchen area. The kitchen is very basic and not very well equipped, but again this differed depending on which room you had, but lack of kettle and toaster did not bother me. If you can request a room on the upper floors you should get a nice view. However try not to get a room over the taverna as this can get noisy at night with weddings and music!
The beach is right outside the apartments and is clean with lovely water to swim in. You can hire sunbeds for around 4 Euros a day. There are a few tavernas next to the beach and cater for meals and snacks throughout the day. However, at time of my visit these tavernas were not usually open at night due to lack of visitors. Lindos town is full of bars and restaurants and only a 10 min walk but is up a steep hill. There is a free shuttle bus that runs from the beach to the lower square in town but there doesnt seem to be a set timetable for this service.
Lindos is lovely, very pretty and quaint, beware of slippery pavements though, and definitely dont try wearing heels! A trip into Rhodes on the local bus is a must, bus goes very frequently from the main bus stop in the higher sqaure and costs 9 euros return. A trip to Symi island is also recommened, lovely pastel coloured houses and pretty harbour town.
Overall, a wonderful location for beach lovers. As a single female traveller always felt safe and comfortable. Avra clean and simple but right on beach, Lindos quaint and pretty with lovely roof top bars.

Just come back from my first ever visit to Lindos. What a place...i have fallen in love with it. Lindos has something for everyone and all ages. Not a large resort but a smallish village with shops, food, and bars all flowing in the main streets which at night are lit and very pretty.
My mum an i stayed at the Avra apartments in the one bedroom studios, which i must say were a pleasant surprise given the reviews i read before going. We were very comfortable there an right on the beach.It was mostly quiet at night but noise never became an issue.
The apartments were clean an maid service was daily apart from Sunday.

Well What can I say. We have just returned from our 2 week honeymoon, staying at Avra Studios more or less on the beach, perfect location, perfect place all round......UNTIL, you go in the appartment. All ive seen on here is good reviews, thats not what we saw. Naked wiring in bathroom, mouldy shower curtain, stained and long since dried food in the fridge, walls in bathroom that hadn't been cleaned since they were probably put up, in 2 weeks qour bedding was changed twice, toilet never cleaned (we had to buy bleach to do it ourselves), lack of crockery and utensils and what was there had caked on food so we had to clean everything before we could use it etc....Hmmm,and this is supposed to accomodate self catering. In fact the 2 weeks we were there we heard constant gripes from the other holiday makers staying at the same place with very similar problems. Reps had no idea of relevant info, Don't be fooled by the complimentary drink on arrival, it doesn't exsist. If you want to go on a trip go into the village to book, not through the rep as you will be charged double the price, EG:- we paid 34 euros each to go to Rhodes and in the town it was 15 each. our neighbouring guests did the same with a boat trip. Holiday itself was awsum and Lindos is a beautiful-beautiful place and very warm :0)
