Jenel Apartments

Jenel Apartments offer basic accommodation. Rooms accommodate 4 people but the bed settee is not comfortable! A kettle and toilet rolls are provided but no air conditioning! A fan can be hired for 2 euros per day.Rooms are cleaned Wednesdays and Saturdays when clean linen and towels are provided. You are required to dispose of your own rubbish!
Haraki has several tavernas and 3 small supermarkets. The bus service is not to be relied upon, so car hire is essential if you wish to venture further afield and not go on the organised trips. There is an exchange service in Haraki but no ATM.
The beach is part shingle and part coarse sand. Cost of sunbeds varies. 6 euros, sandy end and 7 euros shingle end but you do get a free drink. The sea is clear and calm but shelves steeply.
We were disappointed that many tavernas chose to play pop music rather than traditional Greek and almost all had large screen TV's to attract clients. We had some really good home cooking at the Paradosi, the kleftiko and moussaka are especially recommended! The hospitality of the family run business is to be commended.
Castle end of the bay is quieter but Haraki Dreams offers lively entertainment for those who seek entertainment!
This was our first trip with Olympic and found it to be well organised with regard to transfers. However, we have had better reps and none of the trips have professional guides. The Jeep Safari is highly reccommended. The guys are humourous and knowledgeable about the island and culture.
