Brillliant holiday!
from millie55
As written in a previous reviews the hotels approach is a little off putting but once inside you are in a different world! The staff are really friendly, the food was lovely and everywhere was so clean. The pool area is lovely and no one saves sunbeds. I chose this hotel because of the reviews and was not disappointed.
Great Holiday
from --xdabsyx--
I've just came back from staying at this hotel and i thought it was a brilliant hotel. The staff were friendly and the spa in the basement is a must! Even though the food was not the best, there was still something that i could eat and baring in mind i'm a fussy eater that may have been the case. There was hardly anything for me (being a teenager) but i was happy enough to just relax by the pool and read or listen to my music and take a walk along the beach. The hotel is situated along a strip of bars, resteraunts and shops which are great for nights, although after the fortnight it did get abit boring. The port is within walking distance from the hotel and if you walk up to the church there is a magnificent view of the photogenic landscape. As this was my first time staying at Forteventura i can safely say i would go back again, the sceneary is beautiful and the hotel was great. A great holiday =).
Things to watch out for
from TravellingDave76
We have just returned from 2 weeks at Faro Jandia 4 STAR hotel. The service and staff were helpful but there was a problem with the air con as it broke down on the last week and the temp was 46 degrees The food in the restaurant was excellent as we were half board and there was always a huge variety that catered for all cultures. We were in a deluxe room on the 7th floor and I would recommend this as you have the 2 sunloungers and the big balcony. This is ideal for lying out on if you want a bit off shade and want to avoid the miday heat. The pool could have been warmer and bigger, but it was clean and safe for children. The spa is out of this world if you want a relaxing hour to yourself and it is free, but not the treatment as they are 52 euros a session. Last but not forgotten about the maid service was excellent and the room was made spotlessy clean everyday. Everything else was fab except what I mentioned at the start.
Nice hotel, shame about the weather
from WoodyFleet
I grabbed a last minute winter break at the Faro Jandia hotel. Weather ? well, they say Fuerteventura has 5 days rainy each year, and boy we got them all (in a week !) OK, that's the luck of the draw in these days of global warming but it was still a good holiday. If anything made it, it was the quality of the hotel. The entrance is a bit tucked away between the shop fronts, but inside is a different matter. Clean, modern, spacious and bright. Being a late booker with little choice of room, I had one of the lesser rooms on the ground floor looking out onto the pool. But even this room was excellent. Clean and comfortable. Marble tiled floors, a decent size with a settee sitting area, a small veranda with table and loungers and all the other things you expect in a modern hotel. The pool area is very nice, being surrounded on all sides it is protected from the winds you can get here in Fuerteventura. Restaurant was good with a decent choice of food. Aimed at a mix of Brits and Germans, although buffet style they were always cooking steaks, fish etc on the grill for immediate consumption The bar was a bit cavernous and service could be a bit slow at busy times, but what the hey, you're on holiday so what's the rush There was a good theatre style entertainment area and the hotel put on several reasonable quality entertainments in the evenings. There were 3 hard tennis courts with tuition, some pool tables, a small crazy golf course and a superb leasure centre. Robes and slippers were in the rooms and given the poor weather in February, it was an excellent facility - steam room, sauna, pool, gymn etc. all free to residents. The general area is the usual tourist style but no lager louts as it's really not their type of area. There were several bars and restaurants within easy walking distance and even a small zoo. There are very nice walks to be had along the promenade. A stroll along here would bring you to the older part of town within about 15 - 20 minutes. In all, well run hotel that I would be perfectly happy to visit again
Dream Come true
from GeorgeGlaz
This place is a dream come true. If you want a fun and romoantic five star experience, this is your place! We lay by hte pool, read, drank, and laughed with the other guests. The staff were so frieendly. Perfect place for a holiday. We went there in March just befoer it gets really busy - perfect time to go there. There is a fun amusement arcade next door, and lots of shops and cafes. Otehr families had kids and they seemed to love it too. Our balcony overlooked the sea, and spent hours lying in the sun there too. we wishes we had taken DVDs with us coz the room had a DVD player.
Good Quality Hotel
from EnglandJohn
We stayed at the Faro Jandia 17-24 July 2007. GENERAL - The hotel caters largely for Germans/Spanish, with only about 10% English. Didn't bother us, although we did have some language difficulties with the reception staff, and no other staff (restaurant, bars etc) spoke very much, if any English. Entrance to the Hotel is between a parade of shops/amusement arcades. However we read up on this before going, and it certainly did not cause us, or the other reviewers any problem, apart from being one of the less impressive of entrances. The wonderful clean beach several hundred feet deep, and miles in length is just across the road and then a walk across a wood planked walkway that takes you across what appears to be a "marshy" type area - see aerial photo on their website (farojandia.com). Plenty of bars, restaurants. shops etc right outside hotel. ROOMS - We had 2 superior (connecting) rooms on the 6th floor of a 7 storey building. Excellent sea views, plenty of lifts. Rooms excellent, modern, clean, nice decor and better than we've seen in some 5 Star accomodation. Balcony (very large) had recliners as well as chairs and table. Air conditioning good in the rooms, also had 2 seater and single seat sofas, table, larger colour TV than is normal with 4/5 English channels, and dvd player. Rooms had fridge and safe which are both an additional cost. We did notice that some rooms (on lower floors) were not so well located, with some on ground level with a grassed area seperating them from the pool area - no sea view. One very nice touch. The maid brought chocolates round to your room every evening around 7pm, and even turned your bed back and drew the curtains if you were out! POOL - Nobody putting towels on the sunbeds at the crack of dawn! You could easily get a sunbed even at 11am, athough by midday most, if not all were taken. We like the early morning sun and were always the first round the pool at 9am, and only saw at most a handful of towels out on one or two occasions. Pool and surrounding area very clean, plenty of beds and umbrellas - again at the top end of 4 star. FOOD - We were half board. You had same table for every evening meal with a choice of early or late sittings. Wide range of meats available (plus sometimes fish). Everything cooked in front of you which was good, although we sometimes found food undercooked, but you could always go back for more. Salad and desert sections also good. Although a good selection, we would class this as only average, or slightly below for 4 star. Breakfast very typical, with hot cooked bacon, eggs etc, plus breads, cakes etc. PUBLIC AREAS (Restaurant, bar etc). Very clean and modern, however they were quite warm. They seemed to prefer opening all doors and windows as opposed to air conditioning. Some parts of restaurant were very warm, and if we had of been in those areas we would have asked to move. Highlights. Overall a very good 4 star Hotel. Superior rooms excellent, no rushing for sunbeds, very relaxing break.. The negatives - restaurant not the best we've seen for 4 star. The promenade had to many amusement arcades, although the resort is very laid back. Worst problem we found was a very poor breakfast if you were leaving early on final day or going out early. Early breakfasts had very limited food/drink available, and in a small room that if other people were in there before you resulted in messy tables, and little food left. Journey from airport a fairly unpleasant 1 1/2 hours (with one other pickup - Thomsons Hols).
Expectations exceeded
from SuesHolidays
We arrived unsure of the idea of half board, something we have avoided in the past (especially buffets) - however the food at dinner and breakfast was excellent, as were the staff. The location was fine once in the hotel lobby ("an oasis!") as was the room. The beaches in front of the hotel were spectacular, we went for a long walk on them late each afternoon. Sun bathing on our room's large balcony or by the pool was a pleasure. There was a good bar a short distance in either direction from the hotel and the old town of Morro Jable has bars, restaurants and atmosphere. Overall we had a relaxing break in a very pleasant and civilised hotel.
A fantastic, relaxing break
from holsgols
The Faro Jandia is a beautiful hotel located in a quiet resort at the south of the island. The location is great as it is nestled in the middle of what would appear to be a busy resort road but which, once you enter the hotel, disappears as there is no noise traffic or otherwise, from the road. This is not a resort for a wild week of partying but if you want a relaxing winter break with your partner (like me!) there is nothing to compare. The beaches are beautiful, the hotel staff are unreservedly friendly, the food is fantastic and different every night. The breakfast too is delicious and you can eat differently every morning. The pool is clean and warm. The bar closes at 1am, there is a small slot for entertainment each evening which is not exactly Royal Variety but the kids seemed to like it. I wouldn't recommend the resort for children so much unless you hire a car or they are completely beach mad! There is nudism in both the Spa and on the beach but this did not bother us, although it may offend others. The rooms are also of a very high standard (we had a superior deluxe) and maid service is provided daily. As mentioned once you leave the hotel you are in the middle of the resort which as a good choice of restaurants should you want to eat out one night (we only did once as the food was so good) and a 20 minute walk along the beach takes you into Morro Jable with lovely fish restaurants and the locals congregate to give a more cultural feel to the evening. Overall a beautiful hotel in a stunning location, just right for a relaxing break.
winter break

We stayed at the Hotel Faro for 2 weeks from 17th Feb 07 to 3rd March 07. We were really happy with our choice, the Faro is a clean, friendly, welcoming hotel (we got champagne on arrival) and when we got to our room there was wine waiting for us. We chose a superior room which was brilliant, the balcolny was massive as was the room. The food was lovely with lots of choice the lobster and duck were delicious. The English are in a minority, the resort is overwhelmed by Germans, but if that doesnt bother you then its a fantastic place to go. All the tv programmes where in german, there was no english channels, apart from sky news in the hotel, this didn't bother us too much as we never had time to watch it, but it would have been nice to watch something english whilst getting settled down in bed on a night. I loved it when we had been out on an evening to go back to the hotel room to have my bed turned back and have a chocolate placed on my pillow. (sad or what?) It all went to make you feel special. There was tea and coffee making facilities in the room which was great, as we could have a cuppa when we felt like one. (take your own tea bags as they are really expensive). If you are offended by nudists then dont go on the beaches, as they are everywhere and they dont hide themselves. The beaches are Fantastic and clean. The pool and surrounding area was brilliant and kept so clean, and there was lot's of sunloungers around. The hotel supplied all the towels, bathrobes and slippers so dont bother packing them.
Lovely hotel in a lovely part of Fuerteventura
from niamhep
Very nice hotel in one of the nicest areas of Fuerteventura - Morro Jable ! Very clean rooms (although the spa could be cleaner), nice gym and lovely bar area. Walking distance to some of the nicest beaches I have ever visited. Would definately stay here again (in fact i am tomorrow evening) and will certainly be recommending it.

This is a great hotel in a great location. Don't be put off by the first impression of the hotel as it is on a busy shopping street and doesn't have the best of entrances, but once you get in the place is amazing! Service is great in the hotel and the food is more than... more
