Vienoula's Garden

I spent one full week at Vienoula's garden in Mykonos in May 2008 and strongly recommend this hotel as it offers incredible value. Mykonos is a marvelous island and its inhabitants are quite conscious of it, which means that most prices are... Mykonos style ! You have to pay 8 euros for a two kilometer taxi fare from the airport to the entrance of the village that lasts less than 10 minutes from door to door, 13 to 15 euros for a plate of spaghettis in most restaurants ( ! ), simple postscards are often priced from 30 to 50 cents, well,... more

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 3 days. It was a very pleasant experience. The rooms were very neat and clean - not huge, but not too small. The bathroom was small, but had a full bath with shower in it. Each room has a little balcony with table and chairs. The rooms were cleaned each day. The pool area is especially nice - with a large sparkling clean pool. The staff were very helpful and friendly, we were greeted when our taxi pulled up, and our bags carried inside for us. My partner and i chose this hotel as part of a package deal which included a stay in Mykonos, Santorini and the ferry travel in between. Vienoulas Garden was the cheapest option in the package. Being young travellers on a budget we selected this hotel. To be honest we weren't expecting much. What we received however was outstanding service and quality every step of the way. We stayed there for only one night while island hoping throughout the Greek islands. It was very nice. The breakfast was good and while the rooms were very clean, the bathrooms were a little small. The hotel was just far enough away from the all night partying that happens in the city center, but close enough to walk to all the excitement if you wish. We stayed here as part of an island hopping package, as I think most guests do, and were very impressed. The rooms were clean, comfortable, airy and all seemed to have little balconies with views. There is also a lovely pool area and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the yoghurt was the best I tasted in our three weeks in Greece! The biggest drawback is that the hotel is a 10 - 15 minute walk to town for those without wheels. Quite pleasant in May but I imagine it could be a hot... more
