No Worries
from A TripAdvisor Member
OK so we were there last year but I've only just found this page:o)and forgive me for any spellling mistakes :o) Having been transfered from another hotel due to stuctural problems we (My wife & Daughter 10) found ourselves here at the Fuerta Princess at 9.30pm Helpful staff told us to go straight for dinner and our cases would be taken care of so no worries there. One tip here go for breakfast and dinner early as it gets pretty busy. Right to the rooms. Even for the 3 of us we had loads of room, although the TV was rubbish. (yep my daughter's helping me here!!)Great view of the sea and mountain but the main thing was it was QUIET at night BLISS. Pool areas were clean & spacious with loads of sunbeds so again NO WORRIES, and when ya 10 year old spends 80% of her holiday in the pool ya can't complain.Food choice was exellent and a treat just to walk round and look at it and thank god for chips! (Did I mention my daughter)but as I've said before dine early. Entertainment was varied :o) we saw The Four Tops! & Boney M !:o)plus other variety acts but after a few drinks they were great. As for drinks I did hear some folks complain about prices but HEY this is a 4 star Hotel not some B&B in Skegness and "HELLO" ya on holiday. So will we go back? ANSWER. Yes. In fact we did so 2 days after we got back. Lastly I (we) would like to thank our Thomson Rep. Kerry (did she say Y or IE) I can honestly say without exception she was the most helpful and FRIENDLY rep I've ever dealt with.
TUI Reps

Once again we had a fantastic time at this hotel and this was our fifth year. The only thing that let down the holiday was the complete and utter total shambles of the rep and her supervisor. On a previous trip to this hotel we book a boat trip arond the island and had a bad time due to over crowding, poor quality of the boat and the fact the trip was anti english, on our return we put in a complaint to TUI and got a brush off letter in reply. This time the rep told us about the boat trip at the welcome meeting and we raised the issues from our last trip, she ensured us that it would only be half the number of people on the boat, it was a new boat and it was all english people. The coach arrived 1 hour late and was a full double decker, the boat had not arrived in port, the amount of people on the trip should have been 50 but was 109 and it was a mix of english and other. My family and another family of 9 decided that this was too many and cancelled the trip, the people on the boat said we would get our money back. On arrival back to the hotel we informed the TUI 24 hour helpline and our rep only to be told tough you cancelled even though the trip was miss sold. I contacted the reps supervisor who was very rude and agressive. The rep then burst in to tears and said she could do nothing. We now hve recieved our money by via TUI HQ but I would strongly recommend anybody not to trust the TUI reps onsite at this hotel as all they want is the cut of money for getting bodies on the trips.
On the whole, a very nice hotel
from Daveyboyuk
We atayed at the Fuerteventura Princess in early November 2005 for a week. We had stayed at the Club Jandia Princess (just next door) twice before, so we knew what to expect. The hotel is lovely..the gardens have matured nicely and are well looked after, as are the pools. The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable, as are all of the public rooms. Although the hotel has around 700 rooms (ie 1400 guests) it seems to absorb the numbers well. There was never a problem getting a table in the restaurant, and the pools/sunbeds seemed to cope well too. Every evening entertainment is laid on..although not many guests seeemed to take advantage of this. Couple of slightly negative points: 1) the hotel is rather isolated. Its a good 40 minutes walk along the beach to Jandia, although taxis into Jandia are fairly cheap at approx 6 Euros each way, and there is a bus every 30 minutes at 1 Euro each way. 2) as other reviewers have mentioned the food is not the best. It's great if you are a Vegetarian...but the meat dishes can be rather poor. It's all beautifully presented, but often disappoints in the taste stakes. We have stayed at the Iberostar Palace just down the road, and the food there is a LOT better! One final note...the sister hotel (the Club Jandia Princess) has recently gone all-inclusive (the Fuerteventura Princess remains half-board ..at least for the time being). The contrast between the 2 hotels was marked...the Club Jandia being an older hotel was looking a bit scruffy, and the bars and communal areas were all much busier than the Fuerteventura Princess, and much noisier! We know which hotel we preferred!

We have just returned from the Fuerteventura Princess, the place is wonderful from the choices + quality of food to courteous staff + excellent weather. We spent 2 weeks there doing almost nothing but enjoy the sun around the very clean + well looked after pools. Weather was sunny every day with a nice light breeze from the sea on most days. Restaurants catered for almost every taste on a buffet style. Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break away from it all.
Excellent Hotel

I visted this hotel a few years ago but I think my comments will still stand judging by most other Tripadvisor views. The Fuerteventura Princess is one of the nicest package holiday hotels in Europe. I have stayed at this hotel twice. I think it is only available through TUI group in UK, but if you can put up with the short comings of the tour operator i.e. dont bother with reps etc... then this is a superb resort. I have been in January and September and the hotel never feels overcrowded. High season tends to attract the beach towel on lounger tourist but where doesn't. Overall the food and facilities are of an extremley high standard and I would have no hesitation in returning. One word of caution: taxis or car hire is a must, this hotel is not within reasonable walking distance from Jandia. 10 out of 10.
Definetely 5 star hotel
from Laura25London
Stayed here in August 2005. An excellent hotel with lots of nice 'extras' - like the complimentary champagne at breakfast and the chocolates in the room each night. Hotel shop and drinks are reasonably priced and the fridge in the room is a an excellent alternative to the usual rip off minbar. The beach is lovely and clean but it can be quite windy. Also the tide can come in quickly (although the high and low tides are shown on a notice by the hotel entrance to the beach) We travelled with Thomson. The welcome meeting is a bit of a waste of time unless you are planning on going on lots of excursions. You are also expected to go to a departure meeting the day before you leave. Again this is a bit of a waste of time and all the information could be included in a letter delivered to your room. Generally though we had a fab time and would definetely stay in this hotel again
Not what you expect!!

We spent two weeks at this hotel in August 2005. It is advertised as a four star hotel. The food was okay but not much variety to choose from. We originally booked a room with a balcony but when we arrived we discovered that was only big enough to dry some clothes on. There is a Kids club advertised but the staff are all in thier teens and tend to spend little time entertaining the children. The hotel is kept very clean but in my opinion is too big and little attention is paid to the details which I consider give a hotel a four star rating. The entertainment in the evening was amateur at best, mostly consisting of tribute bands. This place is more like an apartment village than a hotel, the reception, diningroom and lounge is in one large building and the rooms run off a number of footpaths. If you have already booked to go you will have a good time but I don't think it would be a hotel to visit again. Essentials to pack are an alarmclock, to ensure you get a sunbed and kettle as no facility is provided.
Fabulous Hotel

Seven of us stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks - 4 adults and 3 young children (6,5 and 14 months) and we can honestly say that it was absolutely fantastic. Very clean and modern though if you have any mobility problems this hotel may not be the best option as it is built on a hillside though we did see some people being transported around the site on one of the hotel buggies. The children's enterainment was great and kept our 2 oldest amused for hours. There is a large, very shallow children's pool which was excellent for the baby but we did find all the pools very very cold, considering they were meant to be heated, though they did gradually get slightly warmer throughout the day. Although this is not the most luxurious hotel we have ever stayed in, it is thoroughly deserving of it's 4 star rating in all areas including the food which was excellent every day. This holiday was definitely worth the money that we paid for it and we all agreed that we would definitely go back again.
Far away from a 4 star hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
We have stayed in this hotel during 10 days and is not a 4 star hotel. The hotel is situated in a hill which make very unconfortable any move around the hotel. We don't have any problems but please be aware if you have any mobility restriction. Rooms were fine although the TV view quality was very low. Pools were too busy and not enough for the hotel capacity. But were the hotel really show is not a 4 star hotel in on the food. Very poor, mainly on second dishes. The waiters were nice in general but again not enough for the amount of work and some of then didn't provide a quality service. We had a good holidays but the hotel was really a deception. I have been in many Spanish hotels and as one of the first reviews I agree that this hotel in not a 4 star hotel.

Returned from a very relaxing and enjoyable weeks stay at this hotel on a Thomson package break. The only let down was the Thomson coach to and from the airport, on arrival the coach was not in the correct bay and we were kept waiting an hour before we left for the hotel, on return we had just enough time to check in and use the facilities before we boarded the plane home. The hotel reception/bar is very impressive with it's high ceiling, seating area and indoor palm trees. Buffet restaurant had some great wine (price and flavour), food and plenty of seating, some on terraces outside which were very nice in the evening watching the sun set. The grounds were well kept and the pool always clean, although we mainly went to the beach just beyond the hotel perimeter. (Also recommend the family run restaurant on the outcrop directly below the hotel, great fresh fish daily from Morro Jable). Room was well appointed and comfortable, although the TV had only 3 English language News channels. Entertainment was provided every night in the lounge. Good service in all of the bars and restaurant and at reception, where our bill query was dealt with quickly and without fuss. It is a little isolated but Jandia town is a 1 Euro bus ride away if you need more (buses every 1/2 hour). This hotel is not for you if you are looking for English/Irish bars, Sunday Roasts and British beer on tap. The other guests are predominantly Spanish or German and if you are looking for a more British bias head to Corralejo on the North of the Island.

We were thinking of a return to the Jandia Princess, but having read the latest reviews, we won't be bothering. Stayed there four times. Three on half board, the last on the, then, newly introduced AI. Result....Went from being a dignified, and relaxed holiday, with... more
