" I have stayed at this hotel three... "
Submitted By: M103
I have stayed at this hotel three times and can only describe it as excellent.
Jandia is very quiet, however, it is a very up market area of the island and my family have always loved it.
The hotel is right up there in the memorable places to stay league and I would return any time, as had numerous guests that we met during our stays.
Food, entertainment and accommodation were all excellent.
Highly recommended.

" The FVT Princes is for those who wish... "
Submitted By: Mr P Waspe
The FVT Princes is for those who wish to laze about all day and have a gentle evening. Its definitely not for those who need loud music, beer, British food etc.
Situated almost on the beach with just a small hill to walk down its in a perfect location for sun seekers, although with the extensive pools in its grounds, you need not even bother with the beach.
The food is ok, aimed for the Germans which outnumber the brits 4:1, however, we ate well all week, and there is a good variety of meats, fish, and salads.
The British are well and truly outnumbered here, and most of the staff don’t speak English, however, we found no problems and the majority off staff are very friendly, if you treat them with a little respect, the same can be said of the Germans and we had no problems at all.
There are 4 main pools, the smallest is in the nudist zone, along with the saunas and steam bath. Please be advised, all of this area is clothes free (although one sauna can be used with swimming costumes on, it overlooks the nude sunbathers!!) If you are prudish, this is not the area for you as even the showers are mixed sex and communal.
All in all, we loved the place and will be going back next year.

" Booked two weeks prior to departure... "
Submitted By: Miss T Rhodes
Booked two weeks prior to departure at a very reasonable rate. Flew out of Birmingham on a Tuesday afternoon around 2.20pm 21/11/06 and arrived around 6pm. Flight very smooth, half empty plane and only took 3.1/2 hours (jet stream).
One and a half hour coach journey to the resort. The weather on arrival warm but breezy. Don’t buy cigarettes at the airport (which you can for the Canaries as its non EU) as they halve in price on the plane and halve even further once there (23 euros for 200). We are on the same time line as Fuerteventura.
Needless to say very dark throughout the journey but arrived at the Fuerteventura Princess around 8.45pm and checked in. Given a map of the complex, meal card etc., all had gone reasonably smoothly. The suitcases get driven to your room in a little buggy.
I did end up calling reception to find out where mine had gone. Receptionist advised us all to have our dinner but I personally didn’t fancy eating by then. There is a complex across the road which was the Club Jandia Princess but I didn’t think it was as nice looking, it’s the all inclusive place where everyone wears red bracelets.
Small challenge of finding my room but got there in the end. Was delighted that my single person supplement had resulted in a double room, which was a wonderful. (Single supplements could mean a broom cupboard sometimes).
The room was delightful and I was reasonably near one of the pools and could just about see the sea. The only negative feedback I could find to give the hotel was that they needed an English movie channel!
Without giving a blow by blow account I will give information that I have seen questions on. I went by myself and felt safe at all times (helped by the nice people I met on the way out who stayed in the same resort). Don’t mark the resort down for having nothing outside to do, all the brochures clearly state that that is the case, it is kind of in the middle of nowhere.
The restaurant can get busy at times but just vary your times. Sometimes I was hungry enough to go up when the doors opened at 6.30 (ish) and always managed to sit where I wanted to. If you go later there can be some frustration on seating but I didn’t see that many occasions when we couldn’t get seated.
Waiting staff friendly and helpful and very efficient. Food although buffet style was well presented and mostly hot. I thought they did incredibly well for such a large complex.
The pool areas were clean and there was always somewhere to sit. I loved the beach being so near. When you first walk out to the beach you do think that the wind is going to bother you, it’s not cold but it can be quite strong.
What’s nice is that the beach men build a fence around groups of sun beds which means you are in effect out of the wind. The Atlantic is usually freezing cold and the waves good enough for surfing. The beaches are lovely. Don't be put off by the nudists, I admired their spirit although the dark sunglasses came in handy!
Day times were probably 24 degrees although a couple of days were hotter especially when the wind dropped. Some evenings were quite chilly so just make sure you take warmer tops/cardigans perhaps for first thing in the morning and in the evening.
It was funny to see other Europeans wearing big jackets for breakfast. It was also nice to see most people make an effort in the evening.
I think this deserves its 5 stars from the cleanliness, to the food, organisation, attention to detail, staff service. I would go back.
The weather was changeable but I have never been to any of the Canary Islands and had a full week of sun. Out of the 6 days 7 nights probably 4 were full sun, two cloudy (but don’t be fooled by that cloud) and one day poured with rain.
The flight back was at 8.05pm and we were picked up at 5.20pm. The journey to the airport back was only an hour. Checked in immediately. Actually took off at 7.45pm which was nice as I was not looking forward to the silly o clock 12.20pm landing. Plane half empty again and managed to move to leg room seats.
If you are expecting peace and quiet, reasonable weather, comfort, good food and not a lot to do then this would be ideal. I would be quite confident staying in the 'Princess' chain of hotels again.
Enjoy!

" Fuerteventura. The Fuerteventura... "
Submitted By: Mr M.K.A Allen
Fuerteventura. The Fuerteventura Princess.
A very nice hotel, delicious freshly squeezed orange juice the moment we stepped through the door! Just what we needed after a long days travelling. We were taken to our rooms which were very pleasant although a sea view would have been better than the pool view we got. The food was exquisite! Breakfast and Diner was a 4 course buffet consisting of a variety of traditional Spanish cuisine and British foods. Children were also well catered for with a selection of chips, nuggets etc. The waiters/waitresses were all reasonably friendly. The night time entertainment although was rather mediocre. Usually it was a Spanish band attempting to sing "top British songs" such as Shakira and Pink. The pool area was of a good size although the water could have been a little warmer. Various lunches and snacks were available near the pool and the hotel had its own private gate to the beach so you could get away from the hustle and bustle of the resort and take a stroll down the coastline; maybe even spotting a few chipmunks on the way. The weather was very hot but a gentle breeze was constantly blowing which made the intense heat much more bearable. The negative side of this however was that you didn't realist how hot it really was and our whole family managed to get badly burnt on the first day which practically ruined half of our holiday. So a bit of advise; stock up on the highest factor sun cream you can find! Overall the holiday was enjoyable and i would recommend it to anybody who enjoys relaxing, as this is not a holiday for people who like to be on there feet exploring all day.

" First impressions of the Jandia area... "
Submitted By: Mr PJ Moody
First impressions of the Jandia area were not too good, it's all a bit barron, but as we were looking for a hotel retreat were weren't too bothered. First impressions of the hotel however were quite different. The lobby was spectacular and the open expanse and marble floors certainly kept the place cool.
The hotel bedrooms are situated in a large number of two story appartment blocks scattered accross the resort. The grounds, appartments and all the communal areas were all spotless and clearly well maintained.
Swimming pools seemed as always to lack enough loungers, and despite there being rules against it the only way to "secure" a lounger was to act like a German. However it seemed to be the Italians who were slightly more rowdy, especially the kids... must be something in the pasta!
Food is a on half board basis, and both breakfast and dinner in the evening offer a wide range including enough options for my vegetarian wife. I love fish and found at least one fish dish on offer every night.
Drinks in the 3 or so bars were perfectly affordable and service was always greeted with a smile. Lunch snacks were available from a small cafe situated by the pool.
A few minor points, I'd take your suitcase to your room yourself, as you may have a long wait before you can hit the pool! The beach isn't directly accessible from the hotel although it is only a short walk, and finally the swimming pools were exhilerating but bloody freezing!
Overall the hotel was excellent, and I would certainly recommend both this hotel and any other Princess hotel if this one is anything to go by.

" As you arrive, the main hotel... "
Submitted By: Mrs J Ranson
As you arrive, the main hotel reception is sure to impress, with its marble floors, grand piano, and wide-open space. The high ceilings are filled with trees, it very airy, and a lovely place to sit with a quiet drink and a good book.
The restaurant is spacious, with a balcony too, so you can enjoy your meals al fresco if you wish. The food is great, and plenty of it - every meal is buffet style - so take some elasticised clothes! - you will expand if you eat as much as we did every night!. Different meat based dishes each day, and a wide range of the usual salads and breads. Breakfast is just as filling, staying half board, we rarely ate lunch, we were still full from breakfast, and wanted to save room for dinner!.
<br>
One word of warning, the long trousers for gents for evening meal is strictly adhered to (esp if you are English) - we got sent away one night so my hubby could change, as the head waiter did not appreciate his shorts! (that said, it was infuriating to see some diners wearing shorts, they had evidently by-passed the head waiter!).
The grounds are built on a rather steep slope, so not so good for those who tire easily! - rooms are scattered around the complex in blocks, ours was a ground floor room, but I am sure any higher rooms would have offered a superb view, well worth paying extra for a high floor if you like the scenery. The room was pleasant, if a little cool at night. bathroom usual set up, small, with no window, but serves its purpose. Fridge available for those, like me, who prefer to enjoy a glass of (cheaper!) wine before heading to the evening meal (as always, you will pay a premium for wine in the restaurant).
The pools are, as often the case mainly over run by kids (and badly behaved ones at that) - besides, despite rules to the contrary, many of the sun loungers are 'reserved' by our German friends, so unless you are an early bird, you may find yourself out of luck!. The sauna area is mainly populated by nudists, my suggestion is, join them!, the pool down there is small but kid free, and it is very peaceful there too.
We didn’t bother with any of the tours, went to the market on the local bus - ok if you don’t mind crowded places - market is worth a visit, beware pick-pockets, and don’t forget to haggle - plenty of fake designer gear to be had.
Staff are helpful, but not over-bearing, all appear to speak very good English, though it is clear that the vast majority of holiday makers at this hotel are German / Spanish.
No shops within walking distance, shop is on site, but had usual inflated prices as a result - take a bus into morro jable, or if you are feeling energetic take the 2 hour stroll along the beach!
There are 2 cafes on the beach, both serve pizza etc, and cheap beer, for those who need a snack between meals.
Generally, (despite my loathing of brattish kids) a really good hotel - could only be improved if it was surrounded by some shops.
We would certainly return!
happy holidays!

" This is a large hotel village like... "
Submitted By: Miss M Fuller
This is a large hotel village like complex situated about 5 miles out of Jandia town. There is nothing around the hotel only barren scrub land. Inside the hotel it is very pleasant- large comfortable spotlessly clean rooms. There are 4 pools with ample sun beds for everyone. Including an acclimatised pool which is necessary in the winter months and a children’s club which is very well run. The beach is nearer than it appears on the brochure only a short walk down a slight slope. The food is quite good although it could be hotter - two weeks here would be too much as it is quite isolated but if you want a week in the sun in pleasant surroundings go for it.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpfull. The food was typical hotel 'european' food (catering for Germans, English, French, Italian, Russian - with the majority by far Germans) with plenty of choice - no one should go hungry!
The only drawback for us was that there was nowhere to 'wander' in the evenings except around the hotel. It is located close to the Jandia Princess and the Occidental Grand but there is nowhere to 'promenade' in the evenings and have a drink and watch the world go by.
We enjoyed ourselves.
