Having just returned from the island of Kefalonia on 27th June 2010, I can honestly say we were very impressed with the "Anastasia Appartments." in Katelios.
We have been to Kefalonia four time to date and this was one of the best holidays we have had there. First time in Katelios, although we have passed through it many, many times, but the family were very welcoming and although "basic" in Greece, can be quite a shock to those who have not been before, I can assure anyone who does go,that these appartments are well maintained, clean and we had maid service every day.
The resort itself is a quiet one, but we knew that, this was the reason we went there. If you do go, hire a car to see one of the most beautiful of all the Greek islands, or if you want, or need, one of the most relaxing holidays of your life, this is the place.
Make sure if you do go, to go to "Jerry's Ellineko" on the main road. This place is unbelievable for food, service and value for money. Can't rate it highly enough. Also next door to Jerrie's is a bar called, "Nemesis", once again a fantastic place, live music, good beer etc etc.
We will return that is for sure.

Clean with a balcony. VERY basic with very little kithen equipment, as they would rather you eat out or pay "mega bucks " for food at the local supermarket. We had our own little balcony with lovely quiet views, certainly the place to come to if you like the scenery and walks. Day trips are a MUST, otherwise seeing the islands on your own steam would be hard going. If a little more attention was paid to the smaller things in the accomodation then it would be far better. There is no microwave or oven but there is a fridge and an electric fan and 4 rings for ontop cooking. The shower is ok and the sheets are changed twice a week. You are surrounded by moutains and the sea is visible from the studios but only just as it is a fair walk to the bay especially in the August heat.

The brochure descriptions do not fully do these studio apartments justice. Yes, they are basic, as in there is no pool or cafe/bar and you are on the edge of Katelios in the countryside. However, what you do get is a very well-maintained property with excellent hospitality from the friendly Greek owners, who provided us with a 'welcome-pack' upon arrival and home-grown tomatoes, figs and pears from their garden allotment throughout our stay.
The views of the sea and mountains and the peaceful surroundings (except for the cockerels at 6am!)make this a place to relax and feel at home in.
There is also an excellent Taverna 'Persa's', that does traditional quality food at reasonable prices and well-above the average tourist fare that you can get in most restaurants.
We will certainly be returning in the hopefully not too distant future.
