" Best Holiday Place "
Submitted By: carrgrimGreat hotel and fab room surrounded by beautifuly tended grounds
The food was an excellent standard with something to suit everyones taste and drinks were available on tap all day though no one abused them
The beach streaches for miles so a good excuse to walk off all those extra calories and build up an appetite for the next feast
If you are feeling brave you don't even need a swimsuit and can get an allover tan
Advice: most definately

" A Perfect Pair "
Submitted By: glasgowduoI remember back then that the great challenge was threat of disruption from all of the re-building work. Princess Hotels have to be applauded for keeping their beautiful resort tip-top but we did worry that the drilling and banging would ruin our trip. Not a bit of it.
And now we have brand-new tiles in the main outdoor areas, a cleaned-up solarium and fresh paint everywhere, this place is gleaming again. The finishing touches seemed to be about there at our last trip so we're looking forward to the third one, completely peaceful and sparkling new.
And what an outdoor space. I don't do well with huge hotels normally but Club Jandia is designed to feel like a much smaller place if you prefer that. It's terraced location means that you can meander downhill to increasingly smaller pools and patios - it felt more like a villa-with-pool at my preferred spot around the small kidney pool right by the sea-front. Rooms are scattered like white pebbles around the main hotel building, tucked behind trees and shrubs with meandering paths through the lush gardens, maintained around-the-clock by gardeners and whirling sprinklers. Bliss.
For you beach-bums you are in for a treat. Jandia remains largely unspoiled along it's sea-front, with most hotels set high up on the rocks. The cleanest of beaches are blond and finely sandy (unusual for such a volcanic island) and stretch on and on. Kick off your shoes and run headlong into the waves!
This really is a top-marks place for so many reasons.
The staff work non-stop for our pleasure and comfort - always with a smile. Even when under attack from thirsty people at the bar, they would work swiftly with good grace and grin. Our favourite watering spot is the bar-island of Coco-Loco - perched in teh middle of the main pools surrounded by lush trees and shrubs (and occasional visits from hedgehogs.
The main restaurant is a surprise. Vast and sprawling across the whole second level, it manages to create lots of small dining area around the windows onto the sea view, with the great servery islands perched in the main centre hall. This is smart, because everyone has access to the huge choice of food, beautifully presented, but can then scuttle back to their corner table and be looked after by the attentive wait staff, smoothly bringing fresh linens, carafes of wine and bottles of water. It's a great set-up. Every day was different (with some favourites) and I never felt bored by the huge number of choices. Even ice-creams were mixed up each day (stragiatelli my big fav!)
Ok, the entertainment is cheesy. There's no getting away from it. Lots of tribute bands and other cabaret nonsense - but there were quite a few nights that I enjoyed this bit of fun. Most nights I grabbed a seat in Coco-Loco or the outdoor patio, sipping cool cocktails or creamy liqueurs and enjoying a natter or people-watching. Remembering the fun of the day and looking forward to another!
And now that I am looking forward to another (we set off on 4 Feb!) I'm thinking about all of the new things I want to try. Like walking all the way along the beacj and into the town (8km away but with a quick check on tides, it's a golden beach comb all the way). Or a game or two or tennis in their six all-wather courts? Perhaps some pamper in the spa? Just a few of the things that I never quite got around two on my last two trips.
Just one more word...
Go!
Advice: Unspoilt beaches, tucked away pools and gardens, great food and drinks, friendly staff. Happy days!
Activities: We splashed out on the "Platinum" island tour from Thomson - tiny coach & personal attention!

" Excellent holiday "
Submitted By: annathorpThe hotel and staff were lovely and very helpful; there was plenty to do there. I used their Beauty Room for a bit of a treat, this was wonderful. The staff their were very polite and helpful in choosing your preferred treatment.
The evening entertainment was fantastic and the day time activities were always running.
We went on two excursions during our time there; Oasis Park and Subcat.
Oasis Park was excellent. Although we didn't go on the Camel ride it gave us more time to walk around the park and see more of the animals. The guide was great, funny and extremely informative. The shows there are a must and enjoyable.
Subcat was out of this world; going under the sea for approx 20-30 minutes and seeing all the fish was amazing. You also get the opportunity to have your photo taken by the diver looking out of your very own port-hole.
The only thing that we didn't enjoy (which was out of our control) was the beach. Although the beach was warm, clean and having plenty of sports, it was far too windy down there making it feel like a sand storm.
This holiday destination is a must!!

" Really good "
Submitted By: Ken GilbertStaff are so friendly, not just to the guests but obviously to eachother. There is a good feel about the place. Rooms are great - layout of the extensive grounds is eally clever and a gardener's dream. Phone calls are so cheap as to be unbelievable. Weather fantastic. Beaches endless etc etc etc
You just have to go there. I am going back next March. Yipee!!

Submitted By: Miss D BlenkinsopThe hotel was lovely and clean and the staff nice and helpful. The food was lovely, plenty to choose from every night and different options every night too. During the day we went to the snack bar for our dinner which was lovely overlooking the sea...
The all Inclusive drinks included real coca cola, fanta which was great and the Whisky Liquior tasted just like Bailey's....Mmmm (The All Inclusive drinks ended at 11:30pm but you could pay for drinks after that) The Coco Loco bar was open till late....
The entertainment was not good, but we didn't go away to be entertained (like some holiday makers seem to) so we weren't disappointed at all....There is not many seats outside on an evening so I recommend if you want to sit outside not have your tea too late as you may miss out on outside seating...We always managed to get on the outside balcony which overlooked the pool....Lovely on an evening...Alot of people had playing cards on an evening and I would take some next time....
The pool was fantasic, it was lovely and we were able to get a sun bed when we needed even at 10:00. We used to go to the beach in the morning and then back to the pool after dinner and we were always able to get a sunbed.
yes the majority of the holiday makers were German but there were Brits there so you didn't feel like an outcast (and anyways don't we go on holiday to get away from Britain)
This part of the Island was so unspoilt and a beautiful part of the Island. We loved it and would go back again and have being recommending to friends and family who just want to get away from everything and have a relaxing holiday....
Wish we were still there now sunbathing by the pool eating ice cream (which were included in All Inclusive) GREAT HOLIDAY and with everything being All Inclusive you really don't need to spend anything!! ENJOY YOURSELF AND PREPARE TO BE RELAXED!
Ps The Thomson Rep was very helpful and always there when she said she would be and even got up at 7:00am in the morning to say bye to us....

Submitted By: Mrs L PrichardThe only thing I would not recommend is the bus journey into Jandia the 1st time we went in it was fine but the 2nd time was horrendous people pushed to get on the bus we had to stand and there was no limit as to how many people were allowed on. I definately would recommend the short taxi ride which costs just under 7 euros.
We would definately consider going back again.

Submitted By: Mrs J HUTCHINSONBut once inside the club jandia, the welcome from the hotel reception was excellent.
The rooms were really clean and nice.
The choice of food all day long from snacks and meals were also excellent.
The choice of bars / restaurants and quiet area's aswell as internet access, made this hotel a very good choice.
After a few days there we finally found our way around.
If we ever go back to Fuerterventura we would choose this Hotel and Location.

Submitted By: kimbo01I stayed for a week and by the end i didn't want to leave. one of he first things i did when i arrived home was book my flight back out for later this year.
Finally a hotel that caters nice English food, as well as the Spanish traditionals.
The reps and entertainers were fantastic, always enthuastic and brilliant with the kids. The evening entertainment was also very good, as were the professional shows.
All the staff in the hotel including bar staff and cleaners, were all very polite, and spoke enough English so that you understood!
Other guest in the hotel were very friendly; you could go away for a week on your own and have no problem fitting in and socialising!
Overall a fantastic holiday which i would recommend to all.

The pool bar is a nice place to sit in part shade, but the whole area down at the bottom level is typical 3*. A night children of all ages run around unsupervised and up to mischief whilst their parents sit drinking.
For the first few days there were lots of flies in the restaurant and on the food, this matter did improve as time went on. The meats were poor quality and everything overcooked and dry, for the pasta a chisel would have been more use to break through the crusty top.
The pool area was non to clean with sunbeds packed up together like sardines, thats if you could get one!!!! despite signs asking not to, the sunbed war goes on, Prime position 7am, not too fussed 8ish ,not a chance 9ish!!!!
Lots of rooms have not much of a view, just the back of the block in front.
We chose this hotel thinking it a cut above, and as it was our Ruby Wedding anniversary whilst we were there, worth the price. We have in fact stayed in better 3* for a lot less money, and although we love Jandia and Fuerteventura we will not be visiting this hotel again, the Jandia Mar and the Occidental Grand were far superior than the Jandia Princess on all counts
