Memories Apartments

Well, arrived at Memories at 4am, nobody to greet us. Had to find our room in the dark, carry 2 suitcases, hand luggage and one very tired 8 year old up a very steep flight of stairs.
Once into the room which was pitch black, couldn’t find the lights (which have to be run by plugging your door key into a magnetic holder). Got a shock!! The room was tiny! Only 2 foot round each side of the double bed. My son had to sleep in the kitchen area on a day bed that was rock hard, had no bedding or pillow, and had a full size fridge balancing on a ledge above his head.
The "kitchen" was very basic, couldn’t find the utensils( which are hidden in a secret drawer in the table) but don’t think you could attempt to cook anything anyway. There are no shelves in the wardrobe, only hanging space and a few small draws in bedside tables.
The road noise is bad. If you are sitting on the balcony you cannot have a conversation without repeating yourself continuously or shouting. As said in a previous post, room is dark, like a blinking cave! Couldn’t manage without air conditioning which cost 6 euro per night, only advantage is that the noise from the air con drowns out the noise from the road.
Our room had a shared balcony which meant we couldn’t leave our door or windows open and it wasn’t very private!
Pool area is only open between 10 and 6 which is a pain if like us, you like to spend some time at the beach then back to the pool for an evening swim! Also you cannot consume anything that has not been purchased from the bar. The owner sits and watches your every move all day.
Plus points.
Apartments are clean and friendly. Good location near underpass and bus stops. 2 mins from bars, eateries, and beach.
Have been to a fair few of the Greek islands so knew what to expect, but were disappointed with the accommodation. As long as you are prepared for " small base" then you will be ok.
Had a great holiday and was very hot. Beach lovely and loads of nice cheap food.
