i had a fab holiday in malia and met some great people in the apartments but i wouldn't go back to them! the fact our sheets got changed once in 2 weeks and the towels twice and the cleaner just didn't clean the room rite n i had to wear my shoes all the time in the room or... more

after reading some of the reviews on this hotel myself and 3 friends were a little worried, however, there was no need as the hotel was brilliant. we had airconditioning (extra charge but worth it) which made our stay so much better, the pool was clean and the food was nice... more

well wot can i say...... iris was brilliant maria is lovely and all the other staff aswell, we didnt have 1 cockcroach the whole time we were there, and we were there for 6 weeks!!! The beach is more or less on your doorstep and the bars and clubs are bout a 1minute walk!... more

myself and one friend stayed here for a week in august 2009, we turned up in the afternoon and didnt really know where to go but the other guest around the hotel helped us and led us to Maria, one of the hotel managers. she took our passports (which is normal out there) and offered both air conditioning (20 euros per week) and a safe (15 euros i think) for a specific price. we chose just to buy a safe but we should have paid for the air conditioning too as it did get a little bit stuffy, but we coped! Okay so I stayed in this hotel with my 2 other friends in August. I have been to malia before in 2008 but at a different hotel. When we arrived at 4 in the morning we were greeted by nikos and maria...very friendly and helpful. Maria seemed to be awake every day and every night and if we needed anything she was always there. This hotel was fairly cheap so we werent expecting alot but it was spacious and had 2 hobs and fridge....just what we needed for our beers!! if like me, youve booked this because it was fairly cheap then dont expect it to be 4*! the rooms are a bit dated but clean. In it located right on the end of the strip so perfect if you want a wild night out. The pool was a bit grim, but it wasnt a problem for me as the beach was right on the door step.

After reading the previous review i was slightly apprehensive about staying at the Iris. Being in a group of three 17 year old girls, on our first holiday away from parents etc, we were a bit nervous anyway and after reading this review we were more than a little regretting booking to stay there! Obviously not expecting 5* luxury, but not staying in a 'filthy and smelly' room. But i can honestly say, the rooms were not filthy and smelly, or dark and dingy. They were simple, basic, clean and more than acceptable to live... more

Ok not got much time here but listen do not visit this hotel it was the worst stay of myl ive. I went on holiday with 12 guys last summer we were assaulted by hotel security, made to pay for damages that did not happen and not to mentions the rooms are filthy and smelly and dark and dingy.
