Arrived in the dark, early on the 19th Aug 08, very anxious due to the reviews on here and Trip advisor, Had about 3 hours sleep and up early to check the resort out! To be pleasantly suprised at the cleanliness of the pool area, and our room also very pleasent, had a kitchen area with a small table, cooking appliances, cups, glasses and plates, a seperate bedroom and good sized bathroom. Spent most of the day by the pool and latr took a stroll down the road. Within a 5 min walk you approach a little shop a few bars and if you get down to the beach there are a couple of restaurants, one being socratties - music bar, greek nights, beach BBQs and karaoke really freindly and right on the beach. To walk into the main part of Kavos town was about 30 mins and there are more bars, restaurants, clubs, shops, and lots of English trying to pull you in to the places, we didnt enjoy that part as much as we went as a couple for a relaxing holiday but young groups and party goers would be very happy in that part.
Was alot of mosquitos I got bitten quite alot but my partner wasnt to bad, there is a smell of sewerage but not as bad as we thought it would be, and fortunately no rats were seen, however, one person we spoke to did seem to have a few issues but the family who run it moved them till they were happy (my recommendation is to get in the B block - No issues there ). Be carefull when walking out as no pavements and not great road lighting and I have to admit the drivers are pretty outrageous with the speeds etc...
Food is really well priced, drinks are abit more, and cigarette prices were great 3 euros for benson & Hedges and next at £1.90 euros BARGAIN!
All in all had a great holiday, very relaxed and lovely beaches, and the views at the beach were gorgeous, the Greek were really friendly and at the Yienetta, the family who run it were really friendly too.

this review is a mixed bag , the complex is very good i dont have anything against the tour operator or the owners of the complex , just come back after 2 weeks of what can only be classed as very hot and sunny weather , the complex meets the needs of people just wanting to party in kavos and for a family who want to just spend time at the pool all day. but i did hit some problems to start with , having the wrong type of room which suited a families needs , this was swiftly dealt with and another apartment was allocated to us straight away which was a very nice alot a room for the 4 of us to move around , problems bacame aparent at 4am the next morning when we was all woken by the biggest crash you have ever heard above the bedroom , not being to sure what actually caused this very little alarm was caused by ourselves to start with , it appeared after actually seeing a resident between our bedroom and the loft space above it the other unpaid residents were rather large rats living in the loft space of our appartment which was witnessed by myself when one deciced to greet me while climbing down a drain pipe early one evening. the result of witnessing this only made us more aware of the fact rooms have lockable doors which should be used at night , the end result being after having 2 more sleepless nights because of the noise we moved to another appartment , lets not forget like any country theres going to be things that come with the area no one will like , sorry to say this area of greece matbe only due to its location on the outskirts of kavos comes with rats.
as for the area the bars and resturants were great , just be warned stay away from socratis taverna as it is expensive , like anywhere learn to shop around a bit , as for the area though lots to good night life just 20 minutes walk away all the locals are fine .

Well what can I say? We were moved three times whilst in Kavos as each hotel we stayed in was a shambles.
We spent a week of are 2 week stay at the Yianetta which I must say is quite nice compare do the blue sea studios. The owner of the Yianetta was very friendly and welcoming and both food and drinks were cheap and okay.
We got put in a 4 bed studio which was quite cosy although there was never ant hot water or lighting which was a pain. St peters is very quite although the chavs who holiday there make the apartments themselves very very loud with abusive language, most of the time they are drunk , smoking round the pool and have no respect for others.
Me and ten friends have been away for 3 years on the trot and have always booked through 1st choice who I highly recommend as we never have any problems and the service is 100% although this time we booked through Olympic.
Never ever again will I be so stupid, the rep who we thought we got away from when leaving the first lot of apartments was also the rep here she was so abusive , there was no welcome meeting, no emergency no all she wanted was to sell as many trips as possible to make her money.
One or 2 nights whilst out I Kavos which is also horrid we saw the rep who did not acknowledge us but let us know she was in the same bar as us by acting so childish. I could go on forever and ever about Kavos it smells , there’s condom wrappers all over the beach if you can call it a beach and one or 2 of the the PR's are very abusive grabbing your arm and literally pulling you in to the bar.
I would just advise anybody to really think about booking a holiday to Kavos it’s horrid I have been to Corfu Town, Zante and Kos so if u want to go to a Greek island go to one of these.

If you don’t mind no clean towels in two weeks and only one change of sheets, this is the place to go.
They only clean the base of the swimming pool until I complained, then they removed the scum from the sides.
They did empty the bins every other day. The rest of the apartment got cleaned just once.
Other than this our holiday was just fine, eating out in St Peter was truly enjoyable.
We visited quite a few, they all gave good service friendly atmosphere and decent food in good portions. The taverna that was outstanding was Sokratis Miami beach bar Greek nights twice a week, at no charge, good food lots of choice special deals on meals beach sun beds free of charge and 60s +70s music at an enjoyable level.
What a let down this holiday...

What a let down this holiday was. We booked rather late due to work commitments of some of the party members. We booked through First Choice as we have in previous years and have been highly satisfied. This year the holiday was an Olympia holiday. Never Again!
After a long delay we reached our complex at around 4.30am. The Olympia rep had no idea as to where the studios were on the complex. She had only been on the island 2 weeks. I have a heart condition and for about 40 minutes we were dragging cases around the complex. The rep called for help from one of her colleagues but was left to deal with the situation. After about a further 40 mins everyone for the Yiannetta was accommodated.
During this time the rest of the coach was left waiting.
We entered our room; put the case on the bed and the bed collapsed. My husband put it together again and was to report it in the morning. However someone came to mend the bed. This shows that although the broken bed had been reported no-one had thought to fix it before the next lot of occupants. Great if there had been an accident.
The next morning things looked brighter. Until we went to the welcome party. What a shambles. The Olympia rep was totally useless. In spite of several families attending the welcome party the guests were ranging from young children to seniors she went on and on about the Foam parties, The Playboy and Porn parties and the great pub crawls where everyone got stuck in. She discouraged one family from going on the Theo's boat trip as it was unsuitable for families. (NOT TRUE, DEPENDS ON WHAT DAY YOU GO).
Booked them a car that never turned up and was most unhelpful throughout. My daughters pointed out to her that the Olympia brochure described St Peters and the Yiannetta as a quiet family resort and yet all we had seen and heard was the foul language of some of the other guests.
St Peters was very quiet, Nothing to do. Certainly not for anyone with young members in their family. We spent a fortune just trying to keep our youngsters occupied. A most disappointing holiday altogether.
I have just returned from a 2...

I have just returned from a 2 week holiday with my family - 9 of us, ages 10 - 64. We stayed at Yianetta Complex, which was advertised as ideal for families. The accommodation was fine - very basic, the pool was not large as advertised and was full of flies. I wouldn't agree that this complex was ideal for families, there were groups of people drinking around the pool from as early as 8.30am, very loud and swearing - always got woken up around 5am when the party people came in - which I have nothing against but certainly not suitable for families that don't want to party until 5am. Our 'rep' wasn't interested in hearing any complaints either.
St Peter's has 4 restaurants, 3 supermarkets and a small selection of bars - not great when you're there for 2 weeks - you end up eating in the same place most nights. The Chicken and Steak place had the best value for meals, very friendly and a decent range on the menu. Michael's was also good, a bit more expensive and you can wait a long time for something to eat.
KAVOS is also definitely NOT suitable for families - more like 18-30s. On another note, if you fancy having 'hair extensions' while on holiday, like my daughter (bless her), don't go to The Beauty Shop in Kavos. My daughter's extensions fell out as soon as we got home and she's had to pay to have the glue removed! Not sure if 1 was bad on ratings and 10 good but I have selected 2 as in bad!

Oh my god! Got back 2 days ago and to be honest I really cannot find the words bad enough to explain how bad this place really is!!!! Loud, not for couples, and defiantly not for families, this place is defiantly one to give a miss.
Very noisy until about 4.00 in the morning from party goers! We stayed in g block which looks alright from the outside but in side was not so good we had ants in 1 room all over the beds which nothing was done about.
The cleaners rudely awoke us every morning with out notice banging on the door and just letting them selves in without giving us time to answer the door, and did a rubbish job of cleaning too.
The complex was full of 18 to 20 year olds being sick outside the apartments, my girlfriend had her bikinis stolen off the balcony and then was later told they had been found scattered across the road.
Olympic reps were useless and when they actually did turn up on time didn’t really seem to be bothered to help us out with our problems.
No outside facilities to wash even though when we were kicked out of our apartment at 12 noon on our last day and had 13 hours until we were picked up by coach, which was late! And expected us to pay 20 euros to keep our room on until only 7pm, (so really they wanted us to pay about £15.50 just to have a shower!)
We will never be going back to Kavos ever this whole holiday was bad from the moment we got to the Yianetta complex to when we left for the airport, which has got to be the worst airport in the world!!!!! As the tiny airport cannot handle the massive amount of people flying in and out.
Worst holiday we have ever had!

Was a bit optimistic about staying at the Yiannetta and also about visiting Kavos. However, was pleasantly surprised!
The Yiannetta is very basic accommodation but has everything you need. The maid service is a bit hit and miss however as they don’t have keys so can only clean when you are in (and if you are awake after a night of partying!)
The pool is small but is fine and the bar serves basic food (no thrills) and also drinks all day long up to midnight.
It is about a 20 minute walk into town but a taxi will take only a few minutes and costs about €6.
The bars go on and on forever with every one having a different offer on. Me and my friends took out about €20 each night and this was sufficient between us. You get loads of free shots and fishbowls and stuff!
There is a smell of sewerage in Kavos but this could not be smelt at the apartments and was only noticeable in certain places on the strip.
The food at most restaurants is very samey and you will be sick of chips by the end of the holiday. Once again it is not expensive to eat out. Around €13 a time with a drink.
The beaches around the strip are really not very nice but if you get a taxi a bit further out you can find some great spots. The taxis do get more expensive when you go further a field though! Check before you travel.
All in all had a great holiday and am absolutely shattered from all the partying!
