This is a small hotel located about 10mins stroll from the Senegambia Strip. The staff are very friendly and make every effort to make you feel welcome. The hotel is spotless and rooms are cleaned thoroughly daily with clean sheets and towels every day. Towels and mattresses are provided by the pool and towels can be taken to the beach. We went half board and the food although nice was limited both at dinner and breakfast..often they did not have items or ran out and someone was sent to the local shop to purchase more. The service was very slow, even by Gambian standards but after complaing to the manager things improved a bit. Forward planning did not seem to have been thought of! Unfortunately the neighbouring hotel Paradise Suites has an outdoor conference/events area and on the night of our arrival a wedding was in full swing and went on very loudly till 0530hrs. There were a couple of other events throughout our stay. The Gambians like to party and didn't seem to understand when we complained about the noise... I would suggest a good set of earplugs if you are in one of the suites facing the pool! There are more modern rooms set back at the end of gardens which we moved to and although we did not hear the music as much, there was traffic noise from the busy road behind the hotel. If you are checking out the hotel website or description please note it is slightly inaccurate as there is no fitness club, gift shop or business centre although internet access is available at reception. There are also an additional 21 rooms which were completed in Nov 07 and are bright and modernly furnished which are not mentioned!! If the noise from the neighbouring hotel was addressed and the service and food choice improved I would return but would only go B & B as there is plenty of good and reasonably priced restaurants on the Senegambia Strip and surrounding areas
