Just came back from a fabulous holiday at the Amphoras Hotel, Sharm. We're on a timeshare so not all-inclusive (different rooms and meal organisation). The grounds are beautiful, the pools and beach are lovely, but what really made our holiday special was the friendly and... more

Agree with people who say if you want a resort full of brits go to benidorm. We had a great holiday and the staff were fantastic, they made our stay special. Snorkelling off beach unbelievable. Food was a bit repetative but always fresh and plenty of choice. Yes it caters... more

We've just had a brilliant holiday at the Shores Amphoras and after reading some of the negative reports, I wanted to put the record straight. The Shores Amphoras is set in lovely surroundings. The gardens are tended everyday, there are 6 swimming pools, several bars and... more

I like Amphoras...it is a clean, well run resort with mostly friendly staff. However I was dissapointed to see the new brown colour woodwork in the apartments...it does not complement the rest of the decor, it look cheap and clashes with existing decor! Also many more... more

Spent a wonderful two weeks in Amphoras last July. I agree the food menu could do with a bit of revision however it is good healthy food, just what everybody should be eating. I can't imagine eating cordon bleu every evening even if it was available. Regarding staff and... more

I stayed at this hotel in July. When I first arrived after reading some of the reports on here I was a bit nervous. However, the hotel, the staff and the food was fab! The food is buffet unless you want to go to the a la cart resturant which you have to pay extra for. The... more

Thinking of going to this hotel? DO NOT DO IT!! Food = awful (minimal choice, tasteless slop). All inclusive = have your wits about you, not all bars are included, and those that are have silly rules regarding the size of glass you can have, and oh yes, only 1 scoop of... more

Hello All, I have just returned from spending a week at the Amphoras Resort in Sharm El Sheikh and I have mixed views. Firstly, the food. It was basic food served to a mass audience. The food was served in large steel containers. The lids we often left open, therefore the... more

The hotel was not a 5 star more like a 2/3 star, the complex a t first looked amazing but when you look closely it was dirty, with line scale in the pools. We booked 2 weeks all inclusive the food was at times ok but into the second week it was all the same meals! Confusion... more

Well, the title explains it self........at the beginning when my mum told me that they are going to sharm el sheikh,i wanted not to come with em cuz i thought i will miss my friends in cairo but when i went,I found a great team were they call them self animation!.....i didn't know whats their point of existence :P but after 1 day i was almost practicing with them all their stuff, even doing some cool prova's inside the coco loco :D i used to go out with em hang out, dance, and even i was sometimes assisting them on whatever they may find hard to... more
Holiday of a lifetime
In contrast to recent comments, we had a superb holiday at Shores Amphoras. The facilities were excellent. The hotel and rooms were spotless, and service friendly and helpful. Of course the staff don’t speak much English – we were in Egypt, after all – and our Arabic was much more limited than their English. But we conversed adequately, and no-one could do too much to help. Food was varied and very tasty, but again, this is Egypt and the cooking is Egyptian. You won’t be happy if you want fried breakfasts, and English... more
Food Fright ...
Well when we arrived in Sharm El Sheikh, the airport was unclean and and loud and hostile. Most of the lights were broken and cockroaches roamed the toilets. It was disgusting. The 'vehicle' that took us to the Amphoras was old and dirty too, but that was the company we had booked with at fault... We arrived, and a man came up to us and wordlessly took our bags, and immedietly i was like "okay..." We were taken to our room after checking in, and it turns out the receptionist had forgotten to give us a room key. The man who had... more
disgraceful!!!!
Absolutely terrible!!!! If you are english then you are most definitely not welcome, staff are ignorant and quite agressive.Supposed to be 5 star all inclusive but when you get there you have to pay for everything, drinks, bottled water etc, when you do pay at the bars there is no change and when there is the staff either try to rip you off or don't want to give it you back!!! The in hotel shop tried to charge us 26 english pounds for 2 bottles of water,a bag of crisps and some chocolate and that was just the start of it.The food is... more

the hotel is great after reading some reviews there not that a bad hotel. i loved it im going next year thats for sure. the staff are great the pools are clean.the british staff at the tiled pool were very funny and nice, lots of activities(darts, ping pong).the jetty was good but it was windy some times, the food was unbelievably nice but it was the same.the shop owners were nice, we got loads of stuff. cant say much more... i would recomend this hotel and if its your first time to eygpt go to cairo, its worth the money and time. fantastic cant wait to go back !!!!!
i have been reading some poor reviews about shores amphoras. My family and i have been going there for a few years now and think the hotel and staff are fantastic. We have never been spoken to rudely and they can not do enough for us. The only one small issue we had was the food, once we had spoken to the manager they were more than happy to cook us anything that we asked for and even brought it to our table. We have made a number of friends that worked in the hotel bar staff and shop owners and are still in contact with them. Our rooms have... more
Great Resort Centre
Stayed for 2 weeks at the Amphoras Hotel Centre and for the money for ALL INCLUSIVE, my partner and I just could not fault it! I agree about the Italian people getting the best side of the Restaurant plus their Entertainment was better than what the Brits got but still, the entertainment was okay. The food was 6/10, had no real complaints, if you want chicken/lamb/beef or pork steaks, then you will be dissapointed, but every night, they had the Bar B Q on cooking meat/fish which was nice. Although the hotel is 85% Italians, I found it very... more
Great hotel, excellent Diving
We stayed at Amphoras for a week in October and it was fantastic the hotel offers everything you need from a pharmacy to papyrus store. We were in a self catering apartment overlooking the pool which was private and had all the essentials to cook with, it was cleaned everyday by a very helpful housekeeping team. The highlight of the hotel is its dive centre where they were very happy to help us in every way to make our diving trips excellent. I strongly recommend them if you are wanting to get into diving or looking to dive in the Sharm... more
A very mixed experience!
Generally we had an enjoyable stay at the Amphoras, although I definately agree with many of the previous comments that there is total discrimination towards the English! The whole hotel is geared towards the Italian customers. They have a reserved seating area in the dining room, totally take over the beach, have their own entertainment and are generally treated with much better regard by all the staff. Some tips for people staying here, would be to ignore reserved areas etc. as much as possible. Try to eat in the Italian part of the... more
Excellent location for snorkelling
Having read a few bad reviews just before we went felt a bit apprehensive about the food. We returned end of July and feel it is necessary to write and say the food was delicious, very varied and attractively displayed. I do agree the sparrows do peck the beach bar food (especially the cakes) but eat in the main restaurant and this is not a problem. There is a fridge in the room and a 6litre bottle of water cost £1.50 from the hotel minimarket. This is Egypt not England surely it is expected that water and food may not be the same... more
