good apartments in brilliant location
from UkHill
Konnos Bay Hotel Apartments are situated in a brilliant location between Agia Napa and Protaras. With a hired car we were able to explore both resorts easily. The self catering apartment was surprisingly big and had everything needed. There was no TV, safety deposit box (there are ones to rent in reception) and the shower was impossible to adjust to the desired temperature yet I still recommend this accommodation for a low budget holiday. It is clean, well maintained and serviced regularly. No ants, cockroaches or mosquitos. I do not recommend the restaurant. We booked on a B&B basis and regretted it from the first morning. The oily, low quality breakfast was not something we could tolerate. Evening meals are also far better in the nearby resorts. The Friday night BBQ looks okay but is not really a BBQ more of a Sunday roast, again restaurants in Napa and Protaras are far better. The beach is good. The walk down or up is not hard. I did not use the pool area but it looked okay if you prefer pools to beaches.
Slightly disappointed

Konnos Bay is a beautiful place and holiday overall was really good. The studio was very basic indeed, and not alot of good when u have children that need feeding especially breakfast if u r self catering. The restaurant staff were very good and nothing too much trouble, the maid called every day and did a good job, however, the receptionists were not so good - quite grumpy! The biggest disappointment we had was being charged by the tour operator an under occupancy of £175 on a studio that was clearly marked up for 2 persons, there was 3 of us. On arrival we were sent by the receptionist to our studio which was made up for only 2 people, being very tired after a long day, went back to see what was going to be done. She was quite put out at this but did get someone there in about 10 mins to move in a folding guest bed. I am looking into this with hopefully an explanation as to where the under occupancy charge came from!!!!!!! Beware holidaymakers at this charge, this accommodation has one tour operator - Olympic Holidays, but we actually booked through Thomas Cook - not sure who made the charge but intend looking into it!!
A lovely family run hotel.
from Norfolkgeordie
we arrived late at the hotel and were given a welcome pack for 12 euros, which was optional. we kept this as it was all we needed for the week basics milk, juice, bread, jam, beer and matches. the hotel was very clean througout (inside and out) the staff were very helpful and polite, they all spoke english and were easy to communicate with. the view from the balcony was amazing, Konnos bay was a sight from a picture which you could look at all day. ignoring the steps the beach was lovely. for 2 euros you can have an umbrella and for €3.50 you could hire a bed which you could take into the sea to float on. the sea was not that deep but did have some rocks. the walk down is ok but up is breath taking quite literally. the pool area was clean and when we were there it was easy to get a bed so no getting up at 6 to put your towels down. the food at the hotel was reasonably priced and had everything on it but if there was something you wanted they would make it for you. the only down side to the hotel was evening entertainment, as it was situated between napa and protaras staying in the hotel all evening can become boring. however the local night on a friday was good entertainment. there is a supermarket on site but is quite expensive for some things, but if you go into the towns somethings are cheaper. the local bus service takes you both ways to napa or prot for €1.35 and runs till 11 at night but with the road works going on you have throw yourself in front of the bus for it to stop. (if it ever turns up) but taxis can be called from reception or you can flag them down. the more of you it becomes cheaper for nights out esp if you going clubbing, some taxi drivers give you there number for the return trip. both napa and prot have good nightlifes, prot is not as busy but still has some good bars and restuarants. overall the hotel is clean and well run and in a lovely situation, the only downside is the steps, entertainment and the paying for the air con which sometimes does not work.
BEWARE THE ROADWORKS
from LynneHumberside
Stayed at Konnos Bay this May 2008. I would like to warn anyone going there that there are major road works right outside the apartments and when we were there they started at 7.00am Monday to Saturday. We didn't let it ruin our holiday but we were in a 2 bedroomed apartment that fronted on to the road. Lynne
Loved it, very nice place

I have just spent a week at the Konnos Bay Hotel, I cannot believe this hotel is only rated as a 2.5* hotel, as I was very suprised to see how nice the place is, the Bay is beautiful, and the hotel apartments was very clean (didn’t see one insect) apart from mossy’s. The bay itself is lovely but the steps are a little much in the heat, great going down but a killer coming up!!! If you want a quiet holiday, well this is the perfect holiday as you can have it both ways, come 7 o’clock you can hear a pin drop at Konnos bay as there is not a sole about, but if you want a bit of night life and a nice place to eat, you are 10mins drive to Protarus. Or if you want to go really mad you have hiya apa just ten mins the other way, all in all it’s a great place for all ages, I found Cyprus a very pretty and clean place. Hope you too enjoy your stay!!!!! As much as I did.
Would definately return!

Spent a nice relaxing holiday here with my boyfriend (both 19) in summer 07. Staff were fantastic, particularly in the restaurant. Some of the reception staff were rather grumpy but nothing to get upset about. Our room was in a separate building across the road from the main hotel building (instead of having to cross the road there was actually a tunnel!) but we still had all the facilities such as air con (for a low price) and a view of the sea. To the back there was a car park (enough room for plenty of guests to park hire cars) and then lovely fields and farmland, it was a very peaceful area. The beach was gorgeous and practically exclusive to the hotel (the only other hotel in the vicinity was the 5* next door) and the 10 min walk down the hill was no problem for us. There was plenty to do on the beach thanks to the cafe (serving snacks, fruit, drinks, ice creams etc) and Mike's water sports. There was a convenience store a 2 minute walk from the hotel if you fancy eating in, along with a selection of nice local restaurants. If you want a busier feel there are bus stops literally outside the hotel - 10 mins to Protaras or 15 to Ayia Napa (Protaras was lovely, Ayia Napa however seemed a little tacky) alternatively you can get a taxi which doesn't cost much. Great hotel and location for everyone except unfortunately for those who are physically challenged, due to the steep slope down the the hotel reception from the main road, the tunnel (also with steep slopes) to the extra buildings (with stairs up to them and no ramps), and the winding walk down roughly 200 steps to the beach (there was a road which led down there too however this was a longer route).
Oasis of peace

We are in our 40's with a teenage son, and this is the first place we have every returned to. The situation is idyllic yet within easy access to various towns. We watched a kingfisher every evening at the beach, and flamingos returning home. The restaurant is reasonably priced with excellent food, rooms and pool area are kept clean. A special mention for Olympic travel rep Anna, who was on site at some time every day to make sure your holiday was just that, as she was last year too.
Konnos Bay - Great Location
from paula-wirral
Just returned from a great fortnight at Konnos Bay Hotel Apartments. Initially, my husband and I were worried as the brochure rated these apartments as 2.5 star and we usually, as a rule, only stay in 3 star and above but seeing as though the price was right we thought we'd take the chance. Upon arrival it was really dark so difficult to see what was round and about. We were welcomed by the receptionist and given our room key for an apartment in the block over the road. Upon entry, a welcoming pack of groceries were well received, considering the time of night and us being starving and thirsty ! It included bread, jam, butter, water, matches, coffee, tea, milk, fruit juice and 2 cans of beer ! (There was a small cost for this, the invoice was attached and could be paid at reception - six pounds which we thought was fair). The room was pretty basic, but as already mentioned on here, very clean. The usual - white washed walls, pine furniture, cupboards, beds etc... The kitchen was small but had all you need, kettle, toaster, fridge and two hob rings, everything was in pretty much good working order. The maid came in around 4 times a week, so everything was kept on top of in terms of towels and bedding. The air conditioning was good, really cool (we even took a carbon monoxide detector but need not have worried). There apparently is a charge of 2.50 per day for this (a/c) but nothing was ever mentioned to us and we used it for the fortnight ??? The hotel/apartments location is absolutley stunning, as can be seen from the the photographs I've uploaded. The walk to the beach is about 10 mins, all downhill, back up is probably about 20 mins in the red hot heat of August, we managed fine as did our 3 year old ! There's a nice cool shower at the top too which is very refreshing ! The beach itself is gorgeous, probably one of the nicest beaches we've ever been on. There's loads of water sports on offer too from Mikes Watersports. Parasols were 1 pound per day and the yellow floating sunlounger/banana things were 3 quid per day. The pool at the hotel is really clean but pretty deep, shallow end is 1 metre. There's also a tiny baby pool which looks more like a foot bath ! The sunbeds round the pool were always readily available, no getting up at the crack of dawn for one, and comfortable too. The food at the hotel is excellent and good value, my husband highly recommends the fish meze if you're into fish, he said it was fantastic. We both had good meals there though, whatever we chose. The cypriot night on a Friday is an absolute MUST, it's 8 pounds and the bbq/buffet food is fab, plus there's entertainment too. A great night was had there. All in all, we've had a really lovely time. If you're a couple simply wanting to get away from it all, this place is perfect. If, like us, you've kids, then a car is an absolute must, there's not a great deal for kids going on there. We had a car for the fortnight so broke up the tranquility with a few trips to Ayia Napa and Protaras !
fantastic holiday

we are both 27 and have just spent one week in the konnos bay hotel apartments, wanting a nice relaxing time away. when we first turned up it was 9:30 at night it was very quiet and seemed to be very out of the way Protaras 5km and Aiya Napa 7km from the apartments, however when we woke up the next day the view from our balcony was amazing!!!!!!(Well worth specifing a sea view when booking). the bay is so lovley with a walk way down to a beach which has all the amienties you would expect, the walk down is a steep hill which takes about 10 mins to walk down and about 30 mins too walk back up. All the guests that stayed there the same time as us were all brilliant you could talk too all of them about anything, they were a really good crowd. The hotel is a family run business and all the staff working there are really friendly and would go out of there way to help you in anyway, it has a bar there with a football mad barman and very funny restaurant staff. They didnt have any night time entertainment however they were starting to do a cypriot night and a games night the week after we left. the food was nice however dont have the english breakfast, the sausage there tastes funny, there is an italian a couple of mins walk down the road called luccia were the food is lovley, the cape bar which is 5 mins walk from the apartments holds a pub quiz every thursday night which is free too enter and you win prizes ranging from lollipops to a free meal in the pub which has a king burger well worth trying. If you like lasagne only have it in a proper Italian restaurant because Cypriot lasagne is awful it dosent taste of anything. we did have nights out in protaras and aiya napa which only costs in between £3 too protaras and £7 too Aiya Napa (if you haggle) these prices can rise a couple of pounds each at the night. The weather was just right nice enough too sit out in all day, we have been too Cyprus before but in july and the weather is just to hot then. This holiday is not for people who want something happening all the time, Its for people who want a nice quiet holiday but if you want to have a bit of excitment its only 10 mins away in a taxi, well worth a look at.
Good Basic Accommodation
from jentle77
Good clean basic apartments. Kitchen had hob and toastie machine and fridge. Bedrooms had air condition that was £2.50 (Cypriat pounds) a day. There is a small clean pool with sun loungers and a good bar/restaurant at the apartments. The apartments are at the top of a cliff which has a path straight down to the beach where there are water sports. It is a steep path but its only a few minutes of a walk. The apartments are a bit out of town so we hired a car for a few days otherwise its £4/£4.50 in the taxi into town. Getting taxis is a doddle. There was apparently a bus available but we were told it goes every hour however you can just never be sure when it will come!!

We told directline holidays that we had 2 birthdays and 1 anniversary whilst staying at konnos. The anniversary was on my birthday, so all 3 together within 2 days. When we arrived no one knew anything about it. They also told me they might give us a good room with a view.... more
