We had had a wonderful week 4* A/I in central Protaras but could not fly home due to volcanic ash cloud. Olympic Holidays DUMPED US in this Accomadation, I asked for a better room but was told it was 2* & what did I expect? (1)I expected a clean room without a large... more

Staying at the Plato-Mare was brilliant, the accommodation was a 1 bed apartment which was spotlessly clean and the room cleaning service was done every day. A family run this hotel and their attention to their guests was second to none. Jean on reception is the kindest... more

Have been four times now and having read P.Whildes review was quite amazed. The rooms are basic? (it is two star) but they are cleaned daily and sheets and towels are changed twice a week. The pool is probably one of the cleanest outdoor pools in the country and there are... more

Everything you would expect from a small (about 30 rooms) family run hotel. Warm and friendly staff & basic but adequate accommodation. 2 minute walk to beach and water sports (jet skis, banana boats, paracending etc), 5 min walk into Pernera for basic shopping and lots of... more

Location was fine but better with car hire to get about the areas nearby. Room very poor, dirty, shabby and wardrobes smelly. Beds ok but can be noisy at night until gone 2am if your room is near the bar. Staff are helpful and food in restaurant ok, but everyone smokes so... more

LOVE IT
We have stayed at this hotel many times and we will not go anywhere else. We love every second of our holiday from start to finish. We are going back in August 09 and I can't wait to see everyone again. See you soon, Jean, Terry, Cath etc Gayle/Julie
Light, spacious and clean.
After a twentyone hour flight delay it was a relief to arrive at the Platomare and find that it fitted the brochure description so perfectly. We had a one bedroom apartment for four for just two of us but even with four people it would have been spacious. The only slight snag might be lack of storage space but in high summer when very few clothes are needed this would not be a problem. The view from our balcony was almost identical to that shown in the brochure, but I realise that other apartments and studios would not be quite... more
so old
this apart/hotel will I am sure have been very nice in the 70's. But now it is so dated we could hardly believe the condition. We were in B32 which was ,yes ,a decent size but the condition of the curtains, settees, bath ,shower(a joke)shower curtain(oh dear)were all old and somewhat stained. At no time when we came in did smell any kind of disinfectant. The beds were not moved and cleaned behind,as we found out when looking for a socket. Dailey we killed 3/4 cocroaches(luckily only small ones)in the bathroom. The shelf in the bathroom over... more
Nice spacious rooms
I have just returned from a week staying at the Platomare apartments. We were really impressed with the size of the rooms and they were nice and clean, the maid came in most days and stocked us up with toilet rolls etc. We paid for air con but then switched to a fan as air con is so loud when your trying to sleep. The first fan we were given was prettty much broken but Jean on reception sent someone up to our room straight away to replace it - all staff were very helpful. The only downside was we had breakfast here on the first day which... more
small friendly hotel lovely
Had a wonderful week at the platomare apartments 2 adults and a 15yr daughter. booked late so not much choice for room but loads space, small balconey, decent shower. did not cook but basic needs met. rooms cleaned daily. air con a must, 35 euros for the week slept great with this on, must add the beds in lounge area no air con but you can hire large fan an absolute must as gets very warm. also can hire hairdriers cheap. we paid for breakfast and it was well worth it, good food reasonable prices. pool so clean and warm! even... more
What a Wonderful Welcome
Booked this about 6 weeks before travelling, I was travelling with my husband and 14 year old daughter and we were looking for a quiet relaxing holiday, so did not want the hustle and bustle of the larger areas in Cyprus. I did some research on the area before we went and was really looking forward to getting out there. When we arrived everyone was very friendly from the start and made us feel welcome, we were late arriving but we were still able to get supplies from the shop it truly was better than a home from home. Our apartment was... more
Close but not too close!!
These apartments are a small slice of relaxation!! They are classed as being in Protaras but they're actually not. Granted it's only about a ten, fifteen minute walk from Protaras, but that time makes all the difference. It's all about what you're expecting from a holiday, and if you're expecting a peaceful, quiet, family run and friendly place to stay, with plenty of lager but none of the louts, then this is the place to stay. It's in a perfect location because of the fact the nightlife isn't too far away - definitely walkable distance... more
A little corner of happiness
You cannot possibly visit Cyprus without staying at the Platomare Hotel Apts in Pynera, Protaras, the most friendliest place you can stay. As for the staff, from the owner down to the maids are exceptional; the receptionists, barmen are second to none. The rooms are absolutely spotless, the food is excellent and so is the waiters service. The views from every angle are incredible. Everyone works hard to give you 110% in everything they do and nothing is too much trouble for them, its just like being one big family. Go there and... more
Meeting the people
We have been going to Cyprus a number of years and have stayed at the Platomare all but one time, due to the fact we couldn't get in as their company did not trade in N Ireland. Whenever we have been there we have had a great time as it is a family run enterprise and the staff are good, we have never experienced any problems. We keep in touch via the internet, with Jean, who runs the quiz and sometimes works at reception and Cath who is one of the directors, both families are first class. The rooms are basic, you are on... more
Good not great holiday
HI, We came back from Protaras a while ago now. Staying at the platomare apartments. We booked the holiday with olympic holidays. On the transfer from the airport you get quite a daunting feeling that you are going to be staying in a dump! We had to drop some unfortunate passangers off at places that were on the side of main roads, and looked like they were going to fall down when the next storm hit!! At the top of the road on the approach to the Platomare apartments, it kind of looks like you are entering a building site! Don't... more
