We stayed for 2 weeks in these apparments as my sister was getting married in Protarus. The appartments were spotless, the staff were friendly and very helpfull. The apartments were cleaned almost everyday with new towels left each time the apartment was cleaned. Although the equpment is basic there was a fridge, toaster and kettle and a two ring cooker so we were able to make breakfast and cook the odd meal usually pasta and sauce not only for us but for 12 people on a couple of occassions. There are plenty of food shops but just check around for best prices we found one was cheeper for food and other cheeper for booze, but all were within walking distance.
The only complaint I have is the cost of air coditioning 6 Euro per night or 85 Euro for 2 weeks. We were on a budget and couldnt really afford the air conditioning so that meant we had to leave the windows open which meant lots of noise from the bars outside and lots of bites from the bugs. I would rather have paid the extra when booking the holiday rather than having to pay when we got there.
We had a great family holiday the beach was just across the road and the Steakhouse just a few doors up was good for breakfast and dinner. We had the mezze in The Greek Taverna in Eden Square it was really good but far too much food. Also recomend doing the Big Red Bus trip.

Advice: Great for a family holiday, and for weddings (the photos are fantastic).
Activities: Kykkos Monistary in the Troodos Mountains was definatley worth the trip as were the views.

We were very happy with the Kokkinos hotel as it is in an excellent location - right on the doorstep of the amazing Fig Tree Bay beach and on the main road in the middle of all the bars and restaurants. The apartments although basic provided what you would expect for a self catering apartment - ours did have a kettle and toaster. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels three times a week. Our room overlooked the pool area and we also had a sea view which we weren't expecting. We did not hear any noise from the road or bars which was also a bonus. Air conditioning although extra (65Euro for 2 wks) was an essential in the room for this time of year.
The beach was also very clean and had beautiful sand shelving into crystal clear blue waters. Would highly recomend this hotel and would definitely go back again.

all in all had a brilliant holiday central location loads of bars and after a short bus ride you could get into Ayia Napa for 1.35 euro. we went as a group of 7 18 year olds looking for a relaxing get away with plenty to do. Fig tree bay beach which is a 5 minute walk from the apartments is beautiful with golden sand and crystal clear water with loads of water sports to do YOu can hire sun beds and umbrellas for 2 euros each. We also went to the water park in Aiya Napa which is a must for 36 euros including bus journey it was well worth it! The apartments are clean but basic. There facilities are very basic with only 1 ring to cook on which meant we couldn't really do any cooking. The apartments were cleaned regularly and the bedding was changed twice a week. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a cheap and basic stay but a great week away. This holiday is great for young gruops looking for relaxing days and wild nights!

just returned from our 2nd visit to protaras its agreat place to stay as you can have mix of eveything from lively nights in the many bars or just relax and eat in some of the many great restruants.The Kokkinos apts were pretty good very spacious and cleaned almost every day,we also had a great balcony with sea view which was really nice.We did not use the pool as the lovely fig tree bay was just across the road so we went there every day instead but it looked fine.Overall this holiday was great and the weather was roasting HOT every day.

The Kokkinos Hotel was a brilliant and very simple hotel. It had everything me and my girlfriend wanted. It is situated right next to the beautiful Fig Tree Bay and is in the heart of the lively Protaras. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops down the road which is of great convenience. Our apartment was of a reasonable size but there are bigger apartments available. It had a balcony and large bathroom with a very good, fun shower and a bath. The room also had a fridge, cooking rings and a safety deposit box, which may have been better if it had been situated at reception. The staff were helpful, very friendly, and always available thanks to the 24hour reception. The next door FRIENDS bar, which is part of the hotel was not at all loud and was a decent place to eat. The swimming pool was not of great quality but it was good to cool off in. We would reccomend getting there early though because people put towels down and don't use the beds all day which is rather annoying. The rooms were supposed to be cleaned daily but the maids would have a day off every week and our room was not cleaned the day before we left. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kokkinos Hotel and would strongly reccomend it.

I have been to Cyprus many times and i have chosen different hotels and apartments each time. Well this is one of the worst places i have ever been. The bedrooms were awfully dirty and smaller than they initially told us. There were suppose to be big enough for two people, and unfortunately there was not even a place for the lugguages.
Cyprus is beautiful but places like this make it a disgrace.
It is no acceptable for a European country to have tourist accomodation where there insects and cockroaches in the bathroom... Awful indeed!!!

Me and my boyfriend stayed at Kokkinos in July 07 for a week and found it to be a nice & pleasant block of apartments. Rooms are basic but have everything you need.. This block of apartments are situated right on the main strip so everything from shops, resturants, pubs etc are all on your doorstep. The beach is a simple walk across the road and down a wee hill. We loved this holiday so much we have booked to go back this July (08) for 2 weeks. :-)
