Firstly i would like to say how nice Paphos was as a holiday resort. Would recommend it to anybody but STRONG advice stay away from the panklitos apartments or your holiday has had it. I was in a large party of 13 who arrived early morning about half 6 at the apartments. We were welcomed by a sour faced miserable woman best described as grotbags, who was not helpfull at all. I was stopping in the room of three who lost the notorious original mitsubishi heavy industries remote but beg to differ it was lost as miss grotbags had it in for the lovely room 5 from the start as her room was next door. She was not very helpfull to say the least and nowhere to be found except at her room snoaring like an athsmatic pit pony at all hours of the day. Generally the apartments were not to bad except the camp bed i had which was a prisoner of war camp bed. The rooms were decorated to a lovely 1970's effect which i have to take my hat off to them they pulled it off to a tee. The pool area was clean but the pool bar prices were steep to say the least and a good 3 hour wait for service was spot on. Back to the air con remote and the police saga the manager is harping on about. My room party checked out but left the remote control inside the room exactly where it had been the whole week. The manager first stated we had stole the remote but why i or my mates would want an original mitsubishi heavy industries remote control is beyond me. The manager and grotbags have got a lovely scam going to say the least. 80 euros for a battered remote with flat batteries is good going.
Thanks for helping make this a memorable holiday.

I have been staying at Panklitos for three years and have seen it improve every years. The pool is the best , the location is quiet but within walking distance of the best restaurants in Paphos.
Me and my wife have already booked for next year, with the children and the grandchildren too. They also like the apartments, having been there three times already. In my opinion, it is the best of its type.
Regards

I am shoked to hear your reply about the reviews which were made by our party. I dont really know where to start. Firstly I was not drunk when we arived in the early hours, I dont believe in drinking on planes due to the risk of DVTs ect (even if it was only 4 hours, I like to stay hydrated). I will agree 3 people out of the patry of about 11 were a little drunk but me and the majority wasnt. Secondonly, I was up and by the pool by the latest 10 to work on my tan, and so was the other person who shared my room, leaving plenty of time to clean the rooms. Thirdly, the majority of us in the group had two people staying in a room, as there was 4 couples in the group, we didnt want to be sharing with a third person. Fourthy, I dont drink in the daytime and my partner didnt, we were in a warm country and wanted to stay hydrated, I couldnt imagine anything worse than drinking all day and wouldnt want to waste my money. I will agree with the manager, 3-4 people in our group did drink throughout the day, but again the majority of us didnt. Why have the majority of us been treated like the minority?
There was a mishap with a remote control- but I voiced my concerns about the appartments much earleir than the final day- half way through to the holiday I reported the problems to the holiday rep who just said we should not expect anything more! The loss of a remote did course problems on the last day but I again was not involved with this and am very annoyed to be told that we were all argueing about this, i can remember sitting at a table reading a newspaper and some of our group looking for the remote, rather than shouting about it.
I am not one to complain or cause problems, I put in an honest review and am upset about the reply I have had in return.

We arrived very early in the morning we were greeted by a very welcoming "nobody" having to wake up a worker who was grumpy at best. Having got to our rooms they were at best clean, however they looked like the decor was from a 70's sitcom and I echo the comments on the curtains with them looking like recycled bed sheets. We did not get our sheets changed in all the time we were there and the bin only once. If you have hygiene standards then perhaps you might want avoid the Panklitos Apartments
The pool was clean and had a good atmosphere but the prices for drinks were extorinate and 3 euros (about £2.40) for a small can of lager was more than I willing to pay. There is no entertainment at all and although the rep was friendly she was not very sympathetic to the problems we came across throughout the week. The staff were at times friendly but other times argumentative and the standards were much lower than the usual courtesy you would expect from a normal hotel. We also had a questionable problem with a air conditioning controlller going missing which resulted in us loosing £60 from our party, so be very careful !!!!!!
We paid nearly £400 pounds for this holiday which is not cheap and value for money was not achieved.
However on a poitive note Paphos is a great resort with something for everybody, great places to eat and a good nightlife. I would reccomend it to anybody.

On a good note, Paphos is a beautifull place which I would definately like to return to. There were plenty of nice bars and restaurants about 10-20 minutes walk away from where we was staying and a short taxi/bus ride also took you to many more bars, restaurants, local clubs and the lovely harbour. The appartments we stayed in were close to a bus route which took you to the water park.
Now the downside of the holiday: The staff were very unwelcoming when we arrived, their 1st words being "your early, you have woken me up". We got our keys thrown at us and we had to find out where our room was ourselves. The rooms were clean on arrival but the furniture was very dated, with 3, what i would call rags as curtains, which together just covered the window. The cupboard doors were rotten and were coming of their hinges and the showerhead was not fitted properly on to the wall. You had to hold the shower head to be able to use it (not the most relaxing of showers). The beds were very uncomfy and had many broken springs. We had our bins emptied twice (the second time after complaining about them being un-emptied) and never had clean sheets or towels. I discussed this with the holiday rep ( who wasnt a very pro active rep- we didnt really see her) who told me that we had booked on a cheap holiday and shouldnt expect clean sheets or towels or our bins being emptyied. She then told me where the bins where so i could empty them myself! We actually paid £800 for the room (flights included) and thought that it was reasonable to expect our bins being emptied, especially when you can not put loo paper down the toilet!
The drinks sold behind the bar were more expensive than the same drinks sold at the Athena Royal bar, (where you would expect to pay more) and throughout the holiday, the people working at the place were very unapproachable, unfriendly and even became argumentative with some of the other people staying the resort.
On a good note, even though there wasnt much immediately close to the appartments, a short walk would get you to most places, including the tomb of the kings. There was a local supermarket/shop and the people working there were very friendly. The pool at the appartments was well maintained and a reasonable size. Everyone who we met (with the exeption of the people working at our appartments) were extremly friendly.
I would definately recommend going to Paphos but I would warn people against going to the Panklitos appartments, which could be alot better if the staff were friendly and if the place was better maintained!

When we arrived at the appartments it was very early in the morning, (6 30 am). We had travelled through the night and as a rather large group we were very excited about our holiday!! we were met by a very rude lady who had been sleeping prior to our arrival and was i no mood for us holiday makers! we must have really annoyed her as she had it in for us for the rest of the week.
The appartments and pool were clean and tidey on arrival but the bins in our rooms etc were not emptied for the rest of our stay, when we informed our rep her response was unreal apparently we had booked a cheap hol?? Im sorry i dont think £800 for a week is cheap!!! That aside hygine should not be comprimised!
Paphos is lovely and i would go back again, however not to these unfriendly appartments!!

At the time we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and spacious the rooms were. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Apartments are located in a fabulus location ,in the middle of everything. There were some great restaurants nearby, reasonably priced and good food. Overall we had a great time and felt the apartments deserved a higher rating...

The owner was very rude and aggressive when I pointed out the fact that I nearly fell through one of their faulty arm chairs in our apartment. On checking, the other 2 arm chairs were faulty with the webbing strapping sagging below. He did reluctantly replace them.
The pool area is generally nice and quiet, and the apartments themselves are nice. There is often excavation noise at a nearby quarry from 06.30, and that the apartments can be noisy at times from chairs scraping on the floor and loud local full time (?) residents.
There is a very good selection of restaurants approx 10/15 minutes walk away and a pleasant local atmosphere. There is also a large number of cats that live and roam on the premises.
