me and my son booked a week here and i cannot fault this hotel in any way it was of an excellent standard especially as it was only a 3 star hotel .the food was excellent very big portions too.the pool was very clean and the hotel was immaculate.the staff were really well mannered and lovely and couldnt do enough for you.the only disadvantage what i could think of is the location but dont let that put you off as there is a very reliable bus service into the town and beach.the village itself is beautiful and the people who live there are really nice and freindly.its very relaxing and quiet and i thoroughly enjoyed myself i would definately go back there again.

Unique little hotel, it's away from the hussle & bussel of the main yermasioa strip. Hotel room clean & fresh towels daily. Outstanding friendly hotel staff, from the wonderful reception staff to the cleaners. They couldn't do more for you. They made you feel at home & at ease unlike some of the larger hotel groups.
Staff knowledge of entertainment & where to go for visits to historical sites where great.
For those who have difficulty getting around & about I would recommend hiring transport or getting on the local bus which is cheap & chearful.
Been to the hotel twice, already recommended to family & friends & will continue doing so.
- Advice: go for it! it's central to all locations & a good base
- Good For: Beach
- Good For: City Breaks

Both my husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Moniatis tremendously. The staff in particular Anna (receptionist), the Manager and Appolatis made our stay particularly enjoyable and comfortable; no request was too much for them. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard including floors and change of towels etc. The food was always hot with a plentiful variety - we never had the same dish twice during any evening meal. Lunch when we stayed in was from the snack menu and included a choice of wraps, toasted sandwiches, burgers with salad, chips and desserts! We checked out the tours recommended by our hotel rep and found them to be very competitive so took advantage of some. The only downside we found was the local bus service was virtually non-existent - or one way, but this didn't deter from our enjoyment of Cyprus and of our stay in the hotel.
- Advice: An excellent range of shops but a little pricey due to the fall of the £.

myself and my husband stayed at this hotel for 1 week for a valentine break we found this hotel lovely, staff very polite and helpful. we arrived late but still got a evening meal of 3 courses wich was much needed after a day of travelling. Got up in the morning to a variety of foods including your full english breakfast 100% to the chef. although there was no entertainment apart from your local wedding receptions and birthday parties it was enjoyable as there was other brits staying at the hotel.(be prepared to eat in the reception area if its a full house for the weddings etc, otherwise your in the dining area.) drinks are highly priced which did stop us from buying no more than 2 each although we did get some from the supermarket and drunk them in the hotel room much cheaper option. limmossol town centre was about 20 min walk and with the new road system and underground walkway it was easily accsessable. its in an ideal spot to reach the motorway if you have a car which we would recomend as to see the whole of the island is an adventure. all in all it was a nice hotel food superb but be prepard for smokey atmosphere in the reception area as i dont smoke i found this irritating but my husband found this ideal as he didnt have to keep going outside for a cig. the indoor swimming pool is not realy useable as it more often than not taken up with the local swimming club the out door was lovely nice sun trap so you do need the suncream as we found out, came back with some colour to our skin. we would recommend this hotel for couples or a quiet holiday but it is not ideal for children with there being no entertainment and the location.

We stayed in the Moniatis for a week, half board. It is a lovely Hotel in a nice area. The staff are polite, helpful and very efficient. The hotel is very clean with modern decoration. The bedroom was big and comfortable with heating and air conditioning, there was also a safety deposit box in your room. The maid service was also very good, every day the room was cleaned to high standard. The bathroom was a good size with a bath and a shower and there was always plenty of hot water. The food was also very good, breakfast there was plenty of everything you wanted to choose from, bacon, eggs, sausages, beans, tomatoes, cereal, yogurts, meats, cheeses, toaster for your bread, fresh pastries and fresh tea and coffee available to help yourself to as much as you want. Supper time there was a buffet and the food was again plentiful and very good, the chef did a very good job as the food was always done to a high standard. The pool was is a good size with a paddling pool to the side of it as well. The views are lovley from the hotel covering the surrounding hillsides which ever way you look as well as over looking their pool and beautiful garden. The hotel is as it says, half an hour away from the beach, but there is plenty of busses running so dont let that put you off staying there. All in all we had a wonderful week in cyprus that was made even more pleasant by staying at the Moniatis Hotel.
- Advice: A beautiful place with plenty of shops, a must is to see the old part of Limassol it is very quaint.
- Activities: Explore the coast lines using the old roads not the motorway. Very interesting.

We booked the Moniatis knowing it was in a village location but we know Cyprus well and hired a car for the duration of the holiday, on arrival at 8 in the morning after a night flight so all tired and needing a shower, we were told our room had been given to someone else by mistake, as mistakes happen this didn't worry us too much and said we would have the other room only to be told this wasn't possible as theirs was a double and ours was a family. We had to wait untill the other couple got up and then cleaned so it was late morning before we got our room. Overall impression was nice and clean, staff seemed nice but no facilities what so ever in the rooms for drinks and there were signs up saying no food of drink in the rooms, which with children was very unfair as the bar prices were very high. We were there at the same time as Mrs Sutcliffe and can verify the things she has said about the pool and food, the further into the holiday the worse the food became. The cyprus night entertainment consisted of bingo and karoke, in all the times we have been to cyprus on holiday and living there this was not classed as cypriot entertainment! Unfortunatly the tale of the cats is also true, we amongst many other guest, (including brittish greek-cypriots staying there for a family wedding), were looking after the cats and on our day of departure we woke to find they had been tied in bags and we suspect drowned in the swimming pool. one kitten survived and was adopted by sheila's daughter in the village along with the mum who had managed to escape, the other wasn't as lucky. We reported this to Olympic who we booked with, the Cyprus animal welfare trust and Cat Snip in Limmasol, Mandy at Catsnip was a great help. The owner tried to deny the man worked there and was very unhelpful and disinterested. We had to fly back to the uk with two very distressed children having had the holiday ruined.
The choice is your, if you have a car and eat out it's ok as long as the same man isn't around to inflict any more animal cruelty, we had many arguements with him as he even did things to them in front of the guests, many were left feeling disgusted by his actions and the owners who did nothing to stop him when the guests complained. If we hadn't witness such animal cruelty we would proberbly have returned to this hotel but you do need a car to get around. As it turned out I doubt we will return to Cyprus

Here are my comments on this hotell,
Bed & breakfast for a whole month leaves alot to be desired most morning coffee cold food cold, no choice same every day.
Nearly all sunbeds were broken, no sit up position.
Pool was checked every day, but i never saw them clean it, steps to pool were also unsafe, only one rung on both sides, moved as you climbed into pool.
The childrens pool had a broken grill were little toes could get stuck & seriously indjured.
Quite a few familys were feeding this lovely cat & her two kittens, so when one family left another one took over, the little black kitten had an eye problem, so mr Fisher & his family took her to vets, but the only thing we could do, was put eye ointment on to make its days comfortable, she was going to be blind.
The gardener was seen hitting the cat with a stick blowing smoke in the kittens faces, also throwing water at them, which made us very angry.
the mum cat didnt beg or sit looking at you when you were eating, she just stayed in a corner looking after her kittens.
This bangladesh person kept saying he was going to get rid off them.
Sure enough one morning to our sheer disgust,my daughter came down to pick me up, she lives in the village. i could hear a kitten crying, the evil person had put the ginger kitten, in a bag & tied it, they had been there all night. the black kitten didnt make it, there were children crying lots of angry people, Mr fisher took a photoe of the poor defenceless kitten which had been suffocated. we all got together & got mum spayed, she is now living at my daughters place with ginger puss. this whole experience was very upsetting, i went to bed each night all i could see was this poor little kitten laying there starved of oxygen. A VERY UNHAPPY GUEST. sheila sutcliffe

It's all been said elsewhere - the hotel is modern, very clean, and the staff are great. The pool is large, well maintained, and except on a couple of occasions when there were children's parties (when it was hell!!) quiet. Definitely need a car, and if not eating at the hotel, you will need to travel to get to a restaurantduring the week - local places are only open Thursday (maybe), Friday and Saturday. We had no trouble taking food and drink into the hotel, and eating on the balcony.
The location is bizarre - it really is in a residential area, and although the beach is walkable, I wouldn't want to do it with children.
As a base for a holiday where you are prepared to sort out your own transport it's ideal - probably because of the location, it was excellent value.
Don't, however expect to treat it as a one stop resort holiday - apart from the pool, there's nothing to do.
We will defiinitely return.

Staff-- More than helpful, polite & courteous--ready to offer advice on places to go and see , especially the quieter beaches.
Location- As other reviews a Car is a must-the location is ideally siuated to travel on the M/way or minor roads. There is eveidence of futher building/developments so expect the area to become more built up in time at the moment it is relaively quiet. Bus stop a short walk away and regular service to Limmasol with a fixed price any distance. Short walk to local shop and Tavernas.
Food - Our half board package was good value, the staff will do you a "pack up" if asked, dont expect " Gordon Ramsey" but we found a good selection on offer although a vegetarian would have a ltd choice. Also the sweet selection is limited, the resteraunt does indeed now have its music on, we found the cost of soft drinks high ie 2.5 euros for a coke, so we broke the rules and bought our own in. Personally we had no problems with the local water and mineral content and it saved us a fortune on bottled water. Local beer is reasonably priced.
Facilities - The Outside pool is indeed clean and checked each day and we never had to fight for a sun bed, be warned local school teens are allowed to use the pool at weekends and during holidays if they pay, we had 3 groups of 8-10 youngsters come 3 times during our 11 day stay, they are polite but obviously can get lively and tend to stay most of the day, although the staff sort out any misbehaviour, you may not be reading your paperback in as much peace as you anticipated. We found the indoor pool and sauna closed during our stay, the gym was available but no one seemed to use it, and we did not receieve receive a welcome pack so in this sense the Hotel undersells itself. The grounds are spacious and well maintained.
Accomodation - As described spacious clean, TV about 16 channels but the majority are obviously in Greek--no Sky TV- this also applies to the downstairs large screen. Some pleasant Mountain views depending on what apartment you stay in.
Summary - Yes would use again, the price on our package was excellent--However the Euro was adopted in Jan 2008 and all round prices are starting to rise considerably. Suits those who prefer a quieter location, we saw no sign of in house entertainment, but this would suit those seeking peace and quiet. Do your research before you go, be aware of the "Communual Aspects" of the use of the outside pool and you should have a good holiday, as the area changes the Hotel may loose some of its charm but that is true of any location--ENJOY !.

We Booked our holiday last minute via Teletext and after reading the reviews we were looking forward to staying in this hotel with all the facilities etc.
We must say that the hotel is very clean and the rooms were cleaned every day.
On the down side however the facilities such as the gym, inside swimming pool and the sauna were not available as it was the winter season and the hotel said it was not viable to have these facilities open? The bar closed at 10.45pm and notices in the lift informing guest that NO food or drink could be taken into rooms from outside. So if you needed a drink after 10.45pm your screwed unless you want to break the hotel law! No tea or coffe facilities in the room and you cannot drink the tap water beacuse of the high mineral content, so be warned if your staying in the winter period.
The outside pool is not heated so get ready for an ice bath it is however clean.
The food is OK with about 4 choices plus a starter and dessert, breakfast is what you would expect but arrive early as it does look a bit tired after a couple of hours! The weird part of this restaurant is that you sit in silence with no background music, you could of heard a pin drop. Imagine eating in a libary and you'll know what I mean.
The overall stay was OK but a little attention to detail would'nt go a miss, Have Fun!

My Husband and I stayed at the Moniatis for one week at the end of June 2011. We found the Hotel clean and very friendly, especially Anna on reception who spoke good English and was very helpful with regards to buses and using the telephone in your room (she tells you when its cheap to call home).Air conditioning is free so is the telly and the safe is just 2euros per day. Food is good and if you miss a meal as long as you tell reception you can have lunch instead. (if you want burgers and chips etc). The hotel pool is just big enough and warm, plenty of sun beds.
The village is lovely with a few bars, very friendly, there is also a 24 hour shop opposite the bus stop. Quite a walk into
limassol but if you take a steady stroll you dont notice quite how far you have walked. You can catch the number 13 bus in the village and get a 2 euro day saver to use on other buses, get a number 30 which will take you to the tourist area, also to the new port where you can get a bus for 5 euro return to Paphos good value about and hour trip. Also by the new port is Ladys Mile beach but you do need transport or taxi.
